The EM nurf
Melee's tricky to fix, they can't have it so each hit will supress your opponents travel pwer and any % chance of that would be way, way too unreliable to make any serious difference. The best thing would be to double or triple the range on melee attacks, at least for melee orientated AT's like Tanks etc... (10ft or 15ft) but that really doesn't stick with the whole "melee" thing.
Powers like Knockout Blow, Frost, Cleave etc... already have a range greater than 5ft. I think the furthest is KO Blow with 13ft.
This is one another reason they can't just double or triple the range in PvP without issue. In order to make 95% of melee powers at 15ft (which I think would actually work really quite nicely for kiting someone or trying to catch up to them) KO Blow'd become 39.6ft. That's almost the same base range as something like Blaze and Bitter Ice Blast.

If you have a set that's starting to dominate PvP, then while that will encourage some more hardcore types to work hard on finding a way to counter it, it'll also discourage the more casual PvPers who'll think it's unbeatable.
It might seem like fun to own a zone and chase off almost everyone else, but after a while, all you're left with is an empty zone, and the zones are the most important way of attracting new PvPers.

You got the wrong end of the stick, i was commenting on the fact that pvp zones are empty, and the balanced team pvp people keep going on about isnt very easy to come by.
This is the main problem i think, people dont understand that this is team based game in pvp aswell. Everyone makes solo toons only. Even when a zone is busy peeps dont team very much, and deffo aint many that play suport toons( wich IMO i enyoy the most to play) like Kin,sonic, Emp etc...

Why do they have to keep doing this kind of rubbish, i fail to see how this has anything to do with balance after all pvp is still very un balanced and tips towards heroes all the way.
Give us some good pvp FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!
Well, they've lessened this, but increased the efectiveness of MA, so melee is more even

But if EM won't be so effective solo anymore, won't that encourage teaming?
The more powerful solo sets you have, the less likely you are to get teams.

Good PvP is light years away. The adjustment of EM is just a drop in the ocean. But a good starting block is blanacing the performance of powers.

You need people in zones to form teams, empty zones make for hard teaming, and no, in my opinion nerfing decent solo sets dosent encourage people into zones.

Why would they do that when they recenlty buffed it ?
You said it yourself, pvp is very unbalanced, this is a step in the right direction since EM IS outperforming every other melee set. They are bringing EM a lil bit down to the other sets.
And this nerf is for all EM´s, not just stalkers.

I think other powers should be improved and brought up to the top performing sets instead of going around nerfing these powers in the name of pvp balance.
Sets should, in my opinion, unless the top set is out performing by a ludicrously large margin.
Bring powers up to where Energy Transfer was with the old animation would be insane though.
Just change every primary and secondary to AR/Dark respectively.
Can't get more balanced than that!

Ah, you mean like they recently did too martial arts, katana/ninja blade, war mace?
Bringing all the other sets up to the level of EM would be just rediculous. The game is easy enough as it is. Bringing the low performering sets up a bit and nerfing the big hitters so they meet in the middle somewhere is a much more sensible thing to do imo.

It never fails to amaze me how people think that buffing every set to the top performer in the answer.
Get with it folks. If all dev's ever did was buff... then there would be a never ending cycle of buffing. As the months and years passed every set would get stronger... and stronger.. and stronger...
The game is edging into "too easy" allready. With freinds and PvE builds even the STF/ITF is something I approach confident in the fact that we will succeed. The only way I get any real challenge is in PuG or the MoSTF/LRSF run.
As the game get easier, then there may be a initial chorus of "Whoop yeah!" from people who get there powers buffed, but the game, overall looses its appeal... server populations fall.. and fall... and fall....
If you want to feel "super", play on heroic!, but the game needs a challenge.
The game cannot be balanced on purely nerfs or purely buffs, but the sensible application of both. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THE DEVS ARE DOING!!!

The PvE game is already there and has been for a while now.
Just set down all heavy damages single target powers as fire, energie, SS and new FX/time for every biggest power. Also reduce tohit from every zoning powers. Lower buff and debuff of the same % as the inspiration has been decreased. Give an inherent mag2 resist all mezz to all and that we cant use inspiration in pvp. Give a bigger range to melee ATs. nerf superjump and fighting jump to make it not so easy to play. Lower time and magg off all mezz. Reduce all stacking effect buff/debuff/mezz. Increase suppression time for phase and hibernation from 1 to 3min. Add some shield spe inherent in def/resist to all, depending on primary and secondary set origin. Give something like empathy to vilains. And then we can talk about "fair pvp".

PvP Should be balanced... it matters not if you nerf x or buff y... as long as x=y. Nerfs DO NOT MATTER because the end result is balancing!!!
The bulk of this game is PvE. You cant endlessly buff buff buff because of my arguments above.
What exactly are you saying? Buff every melee power to EM?
Now, if you propose the problem "Melee is underpowered in PvP" I would agree and say something needs to be done.
But the answer is not buff buff buff buff buff, because that will make PvE stupid easy sooner or later. Its just NOT a valid solution.
EM nerfing is a step in the right direction for everybody. We NEED nerfs for balanced PvP. Now, at least, melee sets are strating to approach equivilance.
Im not saying melee hasnt got problems. Hell PvP is still borked beyond repair as far as Im concerned, but Im just laughing at the notion that nerfs arent needed. Its just a ridiculous as buffs arent needed.

I think melee chars in general need a buff, in pvp that is, far more than individual sets needed a nerf.
Perhaps they should wait till they have something to compensate melee sets with before nerfing them.
