Similar to above there's a fair bit of inspiration to be had looking at Artillery:

Howitzer

Star Shell

Shrapnel

Breech

Heavy Artillery

Ack-Ack

Flak

Fire Control

phosphorus

Rail Gun

Siege Artillery

etc

Obviously less easy to reference but a wiki should do the trick

(I did have a toon called Matilda Sherman, deleted now but guess what AT it was.)

A good idea i use when naming stuff is you take one word related to your powers, rather than your costume as its easier to name from that i find, unless you have a specific idea in mind.

For instance a Fire/Fire blaster, i use thesaurus.com and type in fire. These are results:
flammable, igneous, ignescent, incendiary, inflammable, pyrogenic, pyrophoric,

Also another few words similar are flame, pyro. hell (you know... its hot), barbacue, burn, hot, toasted

Then theres two ways to go from here, first of all you could just pick a random name you like, such as i dunno Mark or something lol, the put one of the other words in front, so you end up with something like Flammable Mark.

The other way is instead of using a name, just use another word you find nice, i tend to use Star in my names because i find it a pretty word, so from that you end up with Flamestar, or Starflame (both these two likely to already be taken so not really a good example but you should get my point)

Also another tip is with some words you can change the ending slightly, for instance Incendrio rather than Incendry

So this being said a few fire names I like but havent tested would be (plus the ones ive mentioned):

Scorchion
Blazeon
Igneousia (female version)
Igneousian (male version)
Pyrostar
Pyrocrash
Flameguard
The Flaming Falcon
The Burning Bunny

Basically if you think that way i think it becomes very easy to get a decent sounding name.

This one came to me out of the blue so to speak. I like it because it potentially has two meanings. The word in question is Mendacity the dictionary definition being:

men·dac·i·ty /mɛnˈdæsɪti/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[men-das-i-tee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -ties for 2.
1. the quality of being mendacious; untruthfulness; tendency to lie.
2. an instance of lying; falsehood.
[Origin: 1640–50; < LL mendācitās falsehood, equiv. to L mendāci- (s. of mendāx) given to lying, false + -tās -ty2]

Source: Dictionary.com

So not a flattering name and perhaps not terribly heroic.

However, it's a word of three syllables: Mend A City.

Could it be used for somebody who wants to fix things their own way?

Having seen the new costume part last night...

You were once a normal pumpkin, happily doing whatever pumpkins do all day in a field on a farm in Croatoa - but a top secret government project invovling gama-rays and a crop-sprayer mutated you into a half-human-half pumpkin hybrid - you are now Pumped Kin, a Plant/Kin Controller out to show the world there ain't nothin' you don't know about farmin'

EDIT: You could aslo use Pump Kin, but the Pumped sounds better for the uber plant you've become
Or if you wanted a less country and more city style, you could be Pimped Pump

My first toe in the waters of the forums so be gently please.

Firstly a belated thank you to Scarlet_Shocker for this thread and also his wonderful nomeclature guide.

Inspired by an alt I recently saw called 'Whole Lotta Rosie' (stand up and take a bow whoever you are) I found myself thinking of Artist/Band and Song Title names.

None have been checked on any servers but I'm sure some will have gone as they have a fairly obvious leaning towards particular powers or costumes. I don't propose to give any hints, that's what the imagination is for.

With a final note of apology for my musical tastes I give you :

This is a great idea Scarlet_Shocker!

I have a few names that have been floating around for a while. I'm afraid they're all puns (as that's the sort of name I go for):

Hayley Lulia - A sonic/sonic defender

Helen Highwater - I'm currently playing her sister, Lady Camilla Highwater (Come Hell and High Water... for those who don't get the reference )

Barbara Seville - I was thinking this could be some sort of Dual Blades character (as I doubt we'll get a scissors powerset!)

Noah Vale - With a battle cry "It's all to no avail!"

Shirley Knot - I was thinking something like the Gordian Knot and so something involving broadswords to cut it...

Horace Scope - Definitely magical, not sure for powersets.

Eleanor Handbag - "It's all gone to Hell in a Handbag!"

Rick O'Shay - I've been waiting for AR/Kin to appear as a proliferated powerset since I came up with this name, but It's never happened , so if someone else wants it - it's all yours!
