Following on from my earlier post suggesting new buildings/construction, my brain then turned to the hopefully enormous flood of new missions that this will inspire.
My idea would be to have player-created missions accessible from one new zone. This would start off empty and designer would take 'building plots' in which to set their missions/story arcs. This would gradually fill up the zone with individual constructions which could then be exported into the normal Paragon City/Rogue Island zones.
This would allow anyone who wanted to play these types of missions to find them easier without distrbing the existing zones until they'd been 'road-tested'.Paricularly praiseworthy designs could then be imported into existing zones, as the Wentworth offices were, in a later issue making the cityscape more interesting and varied.
As I mentioned in my previous post, the designers could maybe have the honour of naming and/or placing it, e.g. the John Smith Memorial Library in Skyway City or the McBurger chain of fast food outlets. (Even super-heroes need to earn money somehow and if it's good enough for Buffy Summers ....)
It would also be an opportunity to introduce the Hero/Villain nemesis. Imagine our hero Tree Hugger thwarting the nefarious plans of the villain Rampant Consumerism to bulldoze Paragon's green spaces and make the populace obeses with his irresistable brand of junk food. (Soylent green anybody?) Maybe an appropriate badge at the end of the story arc. Naturally the Zig wouldn't hold the villain long before he was back out on the streets with a new and cunning plan that's sure to succeed.
Hope this all makes some kind of sense. -
With Day Jobs coming in I13 and access to Mission Creator in I14, I started thinking about certain new buildings/constructions that would make Paragon City a more varied place to live and work both in and out of costume.
If it will be possible to create layouts both internally and externally it would add a lot more depth to the existing zones. Maybe the designer could have the honour of naming the new construction type and/or it's placement, e.g. the John Smith Memorial Library or McLeod Hotels.
These new sites offer the benefits of potential new day jobs and new contacts, possibly with special story interests, and maybe in alater issue could provide the secret entrance to your supergroup base. Imagine going into the fitting room of Moss Boutique, pressing a switch and entering the base of the Paragon Fashionista supergroup.
They might also provide a way of increasing advertising revenue by companies sponsoring certain in-game businesses, so that we had Barclays Bank branches being raided or Honda Car Showrooms being vandalised.
Some suggestions I've come up with are :
Fire Station - we have other emergency services but not this at the moment, although fire fighting badges are available.
Religious Buildings - I know this may be controversial but think of the scenes in Daredevil, X2 & Batman Movies and imagine a COH/COV mass battle there.
Cinema - I know the outside already exists but designing the inside could make for another interesting venue

Bookshop
Mechanics
Garage
Mall
Car Showroom

I hope this makes some sort of sense and would be interested for other peoples ideas. -
My first toe in the waters of the forums so be gently please.
Firstly a belated thank you to Scarlet_Shocker for this thread and also his wonderful nomeclature guide.
Inspired by an alt I recently saw called 'Whole Lotta Rosie' (stand up and take a bow whoever you are) I found myself thinking of Artist/Band and Song Title names.
None have been checked on any servers but I'm sure some will have gone as they have a fairly obvious leaning towards particular powers or costumes. I don't propose to give any hints, that's what the imagination is for.
With a final note of apology for my musical tastes I give you :
