. There was a helmetless Blood Widow, so it may be possible for helmetless Crab/Bane Spider... I think. Gonna have to watch again now

From what I undestand, and think it will happen, the powers you pick before level 24 and after will transform to fit in with the path you choose. It's just my guess that the pictures we have already see from the beta, all the powers on those will transform to fit into the path you choose. Which is why I think the Call Renforcements that Wolf Spiders get will change into the one shown in the video for Bane Spiders and the nuke that Crab Spiders have.
For example, a Wolf Spider fires Granades and Bullets from their gun, where as once you pick the path of the Crab Spider, those bullets and Granades will be fired from your back pack. I'm guessing that for Bane Spiders the bullets will become energy blasts and the Granades will fire from the Mace.

I would be very very very suprised if bane and crab spiders are rquired to wear helmets when widows are not.

Not true, it just looks that way because Crab and Bane Spiders share alot of the same sotume parts, but not all, as is the same with Night Widows and Futunata.
