Find me a better farmer than fire/kin (which you wont but i give you some food for thought) solo and lets talk about it.You know why you wont?Simple
There is no other combo atm that combines AoE+huge dmg self buffs + literally no downtimes during farming.

FotM are FotM for a reason y'know? I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here? You want us all to make up our very own unique combos which never are being played? If so...there's a reason why they don't get played more often.
I've done all the controller primaries and with most secondaries and I can safely say that nothing beats the funfactor of my 2 fire/kins.
Go play your totally unique ill/rad or something.

That wouldn't hurt much. Grab a L39, exemp a L50 Fire/Kin, go to Founders/Bricks and problem solved. Yea, you would miss the Epics, but still you could do it nicely.
I'm not totally against PL/farm. I am against those newbies (as for new players, not omfgN00bs) who are PL'ed to 50 with only 1-2 months of CoX. They never get to understand the game, or even enjoy it. Hell, I know a guy with 3 months of CoX and with 2 50's and 1 40+ and I can tell he barely knows the game.
The reason why there are so many Fire/Kins? Easy, they rock by themselves. I tried to level one myself, but I find Fire/ way too boring to play with. Now, I can tell you several other combos that can outperform Fire/Kin with some buffs. And since you're in a team when you PL, it's not hard to get those buffs.

Yeah, newbies being PLed by well-meaning (or just self-important) players are a pain in the back to say the least. Besides the fact that I can hardly see the point in having multiple lvl50 toons when you hardly know anything about the game I tend to be irritated when a player with a level fortysomething toon asks in team chat what a debuff is or something like that.
With some toons you get permanently pestered by team requests from toons that have not even reached the teens although you are already lvl 50 or only a few levels short of that. I'd think that fire/kin controllers are among those who get asked the most. I am so glad that there are zones with minimum levels, so I can answer with a modicum of politeness rather than telling the little leecher that I would prefer having my testicles bitten off by a toothless goat to dragging some guy along who couldn't be of any worth to me even if he wanted to.

A Spines/Dark/Body with IOs.
More fun than Imps-on-a-leesh, just as fast (can beat fire/kins on maps with mobs that don't resist lethal damage), and it's far more survivable... 
Of course, it takes AGES to get the damn thing up to 50 and then you have to source enough IOs to make all the horrible, horrible endurance issues go away... 
Oh, and a Warshade with Perma Eclipse + Near-Perma Double-Mire. It's quite possible with IOs for a WS to be permanently at the resistance cap and nearly perma on the +damage cap, assuming the map's big enough. And they can have 2-3 pets out permanently too, but theirs are black so they're cooler!

Bit contradictory coming from you also Thundorn, seen as you play a fire/kin and farm with it.
Fire/Kin is the ultimate farming toon, can easily hit the damage cap, damage capped hot feet and fire ball (or whatever epic) is insane, no downtime, infinite end, self heal, great resistances, self recharge buffs and the list goes on. The aim of this post is to try and stop fire/kin farmers? Certainly won't stop me.. sorry
Some of us have been playing fire/kin controllers for many issues now, for you to just make a post to try and stop/reduce people playing such a great combination is a proper joke. Pre lvl 32 is a real struggle, it's all rewarded at lvl 38+, seems fair to me.
And for those of us who didn't get their fire/kins PLed, the road to uberness is long and arduous. Damage is not that spectacular before Fulcrum, soloing is hard before imps, and endurance is a nightmare before Transference (ok, maybe IOs help a bit now, mine hit 50 back in I6). So we kind of deserve it .
Oh and for farming, perma IW ftw!!!111!!!

yea i dont like seeing so many fire/kins out there just for farming, i made my fire/kin when i was newbie because i thought the sets were cool. Sure i have the stupid family farm with chim but i barely ever PL ppl, only time i ever decide to farm is if i need the infl for IOs.

As for the spines/dark farming, show me a spines/dark solo farming for 6 people spawns without dying,without insps,without downtime and at the same speed and damage as a fire/kin on invi then i might consider spines/dark to be as close to a fire/kin.

You seem to forget that PLing is ALSO a form of farming.
I remember very distinctly a dude who supposedly PLed people for money, and I remember the big celebrations when one member of our coalition managed to get his dreck finished. I remember very distinctly being in a PLing team with a character whose name started "tractor.." who I fathom was doing just IT the whole time, possibly also for money. All of this happened before inventions.
Also, I seem to remember that people were farming RV just the same before and after inventions.

Ironically My Fire Kin Thundorn FoTM was built as a joke back when i could see this happening. And i got quite addicted to the destructive power of the mighty Fire Kin.
