Is Defiant the quietest server around?

Perhaps the Union server has been so accomodating that I feel out of place on Defiant, but after filling character slots on the former I have found Defiant server to be somewhat silent.

And its not just the lack of players either. The players I've teamed and fought alongside, even many of those in my supergroup are often very quiet and rarely talk much.

Now it could just be that all the talkative players are now much higher level, so I don't get to see them much yet (My Defiant character is lvl 14) but even so, compared to Union, it seems deathly quiet on all fronts.

Someone reassure me that im not wasting my time trying to build a supergroup on a dead server. I'm sure you're a lively bunch, but so far im not seeing that side of the equation.

I have found the Defiant server to be full of life to be honest! There are always people on from my SG. Sometimes its a slog getting enough players together to team, but that's only sometimes.

I'd be happy to team with you if you're looking for chatty players - apparently I have verbal (typing) diarrhea!

[/ QUOTE ]It's weird really, I've found the opposite ocurring to me. Defiant (my main server) is always busy, and find it easier to team with others (chatty or not)...but Union has always been much quieter IMO, especially Villains.

Defiant used to have a slightly higher playerpopulation that Union....this has slowly shifted the other way and Union now roughly have 50-75% more players online at peaktimes.

Union villains now has the same playerpopulation as Defiant heroes.

It's sad really but that's the reality of things.

Can't really say why this has happened but I suspect it's mainly because the old wellknown "communityleaders" quit the game a while back and Union still has theirs active ingame.

Defiant certainly isn't dead and there's a lot of good friendly players around..but sadly not as easy to find them these days.

Defiant is and will always be my homeserver (even though my villains are on Union due to charslot space)

[/ QUOTE ]Likewise.

The villains I currently have on Defiant...will be moved to Union (for a small fee) after i10 goes live, so I can free up more slots for more heroes!!!

Seconded; I've found that the days when I play, the luck I have of having a good chat or a nice, full team fluctuates. Sometimes in the PvP zones, I have no luck with finding a good fight, and one night I'll be in there and there's some fantastic fighting from both sides. Unfortunately it's just something all Defianteers have to accept, even though at the moment I don't see this quiet problem as being a severe problem. I think a few weeks into i10, hopefully being lauched in a few days time, we'll see if things pick up activity wise again, in my opinion they most certainly will

I filled up all my slots on Defiant (none of them higher than lvl 32, curse you altisis) and have now made a couple on Union - I have to agree that Union seems more chatty, so far. But with Defiant OR Union you don't usually have to wait long to get a tell or a blind for a PuG if you can't be bothered starting one yourself (like me, usually).

I log into Defiant and I feel like I better make the team. Most people are soloing, this is cageyness, worried about something or hiding something or its that they love story content ever so much. Less emphasis on playing well/looking good and more emphasis on social and friendly mission sharing at modest odds is needed imo. [censored] efficiency.

No, Defiant is not the quietest server around... which speaks a lot of the actual situation imo

SHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Didn't you see the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign hanging off Defiants Server?

Yep, Defiant is kinda quiet. When I say ''hello'' in my SG I get no reply.

Sad really - but it's just life, I guess. People will come to servers and go on other ones - Defiant may be quiet, but it's still got it's shining community to keep it alive.

I never had problems getting teams in Defiant and, although now I am concentrating more in my Union alts, I hear many ppl complaining about how difficult is to find a team in Defiant. Tbh I don't think that's toally related to the amount of people, I think it is more a matter of people farming inf and recipes/salvage drops which are far better if you are soloing. I myself, when doing radio mishes in PI in Defiant tend to avoid teaming for that reason and afaik, I'm not at all the only one doing that. Also related is the difficulty of arranging "impromptu" TF's and Trials in Defiant. In the days of I9, we all want recipes and salvage to make our desired build and TF's/Trials are a very good way to try get them. For some reason, it is much easier to arrange those in Union than in Defiant.

If you mean that you get no reply in irony because nobody else in your SG is logged, then you probably want to look for a more active SG. On the other hand, if you don't get a reply and most of the peeps in the SG are logged, I would try to talk to them and find out what happened to make them behave like that and sort it out with a clean slate and avoiding the situations that lead to that, since that is a very unpleasant situation in a SG. Be warned though, you may find out that learning why people don't say hello to you may not be a pleasant thing to hear.

I quite often turn my SG chat off when guys in the SG are having 4 way conversations and I'm in an 8 man pug. Can be quite a pain. And it's easy to miss the odd "No-one wants to reply" when you're button-mashing with your scrapper!

Defiant seems quieter these days, but you'll soon for close nit groups.

I've recently moved across to Union for some altitist, and I've found (in the lower levs) more players, easier to team and all friendly.

The "best" thing is the badgehunter/events channel seems to be very busy.

I don't think there's too much difference between the two, but if I was starting "new" I'd go to Union first.

It does seem the chatter has died down a bit on defiant; but get yourself on Elfling/ HU/ Smurfite channels and theres still plenty of intelligent (and idiotic) chat.
Is it just me, or are most of the main posters on here the people who call defiant their home?
Do newbie players have defiant or union as their first choice server to select? Guess this makes a difference to where people stay and play.

Maybe there needs to be more chat on our default server channel - Arena has been too quiet recently

[/ QUOTE ]

you mean the pvp channel which is for Arena events and should be used for arena/pvp events.

I was a daily player, investing hours and hours of fun play, TFs, teaming, badge farming, xp/inf farming, sunday Hami and all that. That doesn't happen anymore. Now I connect, I see absolutely empty zones, ask for a team for 1 hour and disconnect with a bitter sadness. I'm not always in the soloing mood, you know.

Defiant is the server for my mains, Union is the server for my alts where I just had a pun for the name and not much more.

I've never usually had a problem getting a team, until it gets to about 3 in the morning and only the insomniacs/caffeine-fiends are on....

There are odd "dead" patches where it can be hard to find a team - I intended to solo most of the 20s anyway, but I hardly got any blind invites, let alone tells during that patch... 35+ it's non-stop offers of teams (and not a PL team in sight)
