  1. Defence?? Bah, sod that. I played mine to 50 mainly as a troller (back in the old days when Doms were rubbish) so vines was a very handy extra mag when trying to hold bosses. Any mobs that were less than didn't have bosses just got a healthy dose of seeds.
Domination-->creepers-->seeds-->firey embrace-->fire breath-->makos cone damage power-->consume pretty much finishes a large mob and leaves you looking pretty.
  2. LRM Rocket is a beautiful AOE snipe; with Aim and Build Up is capable of knocking the stuffing out of most mobs (and knocking them down too).
As an AR/Dev, you don't get either so I guess isn't as useful an opener apart from the knockdown (not back). As said above, 4 slotted LRM works fine for me (2 detonation, 2 air burst), though you could slot it with force feedback chance for recharge, posi damage proc, kinetic damage proc etc (though guess these would be better in your M40 Grenade as it has a faster recharge).
Sleep grenade isn't much use group wise but does allow good set bonuses from call of the sandman (+6.25% recharge at 5 slotted) and you can slot call of the sandman chance to heal self (lovely in an AoE). The recharge is too long on both though
  3. Ice all the way London, defence is always more fun than resistance!
  4. Git_Elfling

    Plant Control!!

Doubt it, they never seem to get buffed by anything when I use 'em; but happy to stand corrected!
  5. Git_Elfling

    Plant Control!!

I bet they fiddle it around a bit as seeds is just too good as it is for Doms; trollers will be laughing their socks off with it. Also the Chompy isn't the most heroic looking of pets, and "Carrion Creepers" is slightly unheroic sounding too.
I could also see 'em being lazy and just porting it as it is though!
  6. I've generally just solo'd with this build (mainly because of the cash needs!); 3 single target holds allows me to take on most things solo no problem. In team environments, yeah ice storm and ice breath and blizzard (followed by power sink) work the damage up nicely.
The high ST damage from ice and elec lets me solo EBs without too much problem (except blooming carnies for some reason).
If you're on defiant, I'll look you up when i'm on next to show you how it goes.
Defence is nice when you see the occassional "deflected" but you'll be mitigating damage in so many other ways I don't find it necessary. Recharge is definitely your friend with ice.
  7. Here's my current actual build for my Ice/Elec who performs beautifully in PvE, but not made for PvP at all. Has a lovely amount of damage/ accuracy/ recharge bonuses and several handy procs.
On your anti-mez build, why not just take break frees? AFAIK the mez resist only lowers the time you are mezzed for, and doesn't actually protect you so not overly useful for PvP. If you can mess my build around to have CJ/SJ/Acro and aid self, you might have a PvP monster.

  8. Take it, install a chance for build up Proc. Spam. Eggs. Beans.
  9. My plant/fire went to 50 without stamina, so personally I'd suggest dropping the fitness pool and maybe bringing in Fire blast or incinerate for a bit more damage? Open up with seeds, then roots, then fire breath, then use flares/ blast to take out whatevers left.
Remember, if you damage an enemy even 1% you'll still a minimum of 80% of the xp. Toss your confusion out as often as possible.
Use domination and consume to rebuild your end when you need to. Building dom is so much easier than in the days I was creeping to 50.
Plant isn't the heaviest hitting of primaries, you are one of the best damage mitigaters though.

What would make you return to CoH?
Getting married. I'm on a games ban until that happens next February due to my organisational ineptitude. On the plus side gives me plenty of time to catch up on all the TV i've missed.
On the down side I cry myself to sleep every night.
  11. Great power that recharges enough with hasten and 3 slotted recharge to be used significantly more than as a panic button. I love just charging in and firing it off along with the Psi nova for some additional AoE blammage. Won't ever hold bosses but with power build up you may well drain all their end to stop any return fire.
1 Acc, 3 Recharge, 2 hold sounds good for non-set IOs, otherwise Carni's idea works a treat
  12. It does seem the chatter has died down a bit on defiant; but get yourself on Elfling/ HU/ Smurfite channels and theres still plenty of intelligent (and idiotic) chat.
Is it just me, or are most of the main posters on here the people who call defiant their home?
Do newbie players have defiant or union as their first choice server to select? Guess this makes a difference to where people stay and play.
  13. Hey folks, got an LRSF team forming tonight (assuming Silent and Battler remember to turn up)
We currently have 3 spaces left. Any and all ATs welcome, just be sure to have shivans with you.
There will be at least 3 elflings on team, please be ready.
  14. Top work fella, now get Endora up there would ya??
  15. My rad/psi (though not made for pvp) struggles against /regen scrappers. I found a claws/regen a total nightmare to deal with due to their ranged attacks.
  16. Have it on both my Rad based toons. True it is very situational, but coupled with vengeance it makes an awesome buff/debuff combo. I like the power; it generally forms part of an elfling alpha on AVs (send in the blaster to suicide herself, everyone else piles on- I hit veng/ fallout, AV falls down fast). Also handy on Mako when he's being an [censored] in States TF.
I slot it with 1 acc, 3 dam and 2 hami lysosomes in it.
  17. I've already got a mind/ice elfling dominator, get yer own!
  18. Git_Elfling

    55 MIN LRSF!!

55 Mins?? Why's it even taking you that long Silent? Tut. Wait 'til I'm back from Oz and we'll blitz it in 45 or less no worries
  19. Yay, and thats the second Lvl50 Villain Elfling for the Sinister Elfling Corps and the 14th Lvl50 Elfling overall.

Please ignore any SG invites from the tainted mutants of the New Elfling Order. SEC is the one true Elfling villain path.
  20. Have we got 8 lvl50 Doms on defiant to try this with?
  21. Ding Ding Ding, another Elfling hits 50!
  22. Yes, thats the 11th heroic Elfling to hit the big 50. Good work buddy!
  23. Git_Elfling

    Fallout

Theres nothing more fun than an attack chain of invis, recall (dead) friend, vengeance, fallout. You obviously need to change your attack chain and team with more AR blasters.
Agree with vengeance's usefulness (the quad or more stacked on LRSF is a handy buff that takes the place of the nukes, so guessing will be as useful when the Statesman TF is introduced); but I just love the "silly" powers- propel, wormhole and fallout.
Lack of sleep this weekend has clouded my judgement so forgive me if my post makes no sense.
