Those badges...

Does anyone actually roleplay anything about the badges?

I mean things like the Freedom Phalanx Reserve Accolade. The Vanguard Accolade. These could, or should, have associated IC consequences (and wouldn't it be nice if they did?), but does anyone play with them?

We've used the Omega Level Clearance Souvenir before at the old GG, and I've just given War Crow a special uniform for wearing on Freedom Phalanx business since he has the Accolade. Anyone else done anything?

Not as such, have made it part of the characters history, part of her day to day life, but mostly use than like a military decoration, shows the things she's done well.

I usually use them as an outline of what that character knows about, accolades and some acheivements as actualy badges they have been awarded, or trophies they have acquired. I don't usually refer to they in RP, but if I get a new accolade then they might be in a good mood and the reason is (in RP) that they were awarded some sort of a badge or trophy.

AKA, the Infiltrator badge on CBeet means he knows all about the Paragon Protectors, or the Atlas Medallion actually means he has a badge which he keeps in a case at his home.

I usually picture them as service record commendations within Hero Corps, many of which would indeed be like campaign ribbons in military service.

Some of my heroes regularly wear the one's they value most, either as medals, or as lapel pins or whatever seems appropriate to the accolade/honour in question.

It really does depend on the badge, I tend to use "factional" badges a lot (hero corps insider, honorary space squid that kinda thing) but most the others I just ignore or use to reflect specifics about the chars influence/fame if people ask/research.

I dont treat Echos badges as IC stuff, but i do pick a badge that suits her or rather a name. 'Obsessed' is her current one and sums her up pretty well in alot of aspects.

But no, she doesnt wear her badges or anything like that.

Yeah, Crow is currently using 'Regenerator', I think Poly (the mad scientist) or Seven (the android) is using 'Upgraded'.

I live for the day I can get 'Undying' or even 'Immortal' on Jason Caine... who is supposed to be undying and immortal.

Well, Miss Ellie wears the "Beautiful" badge all the time. Perfect badge for her really!

I've never paid any attention to the badges, really, though there is a distinct trend to pick a badge that suits your toon. So I proudly wear "Charmer" on Shadowe and "Reveler" on Luminescence. Can't actually remember what badge I have on Samantha Huntington right now... Must check.

The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*

I also pick the badge title to fit the character, rather then accomplishments.
I don't really use them in RP either, except for the Omega Clearance... and Task Force Commander.

For my villains, most badges are very unlikely to be IC.

Lilith proudly wears Heart of Darkness, which, I think fits her perfectly.

Tower of Power used to wear "Secret Admirer", but changed it to "Risk Taker" when he started dating Sara Aegis.

Dark horse that one. Wasn't he after Shadow's Grace at one point? And now he's dating her 'sister'... tut, tut.

I will occasionally use a badge to give a little hint at what is happening with my characters, "Secret Admirer" before Saff started her relationship or "Multidimentional" before she started jumping dimentions. They're never plot breaking hints but they add a little extra flavour.

He did have a crush on her... a year and a half ago?
But you know, hearing from the get go there's no chance even with hell freezing over tends to help with getting over things

Probably only a year, maybe less. Game has only been out for 2 years and I don't think Aisla started Shadow's Grace within the first 6 months of that time.

Could be wrong, but I don't think so.

She certainly didn't turn up at GG that early.

Sara generally uses any of one Indestructible/Undying, although occasionally Mistress of Olympus too. Josie needed Technofreak, there was no other possible

Certainly the accolades, I treat as being IC awards, and some of the souveniers (that omega clearance does come in handy)

I use a few,and i occasionally use what i did to get them,Arc has been switching bagles (badge titles,i felt like something new ) from "Slayer of Madness" to "Dark Mystic",Dark Mystic because most of his magic is dark (dark humour? maybe...*pulls creme egg out head*) and Slayer of Madness is a personal joke...a personal ironic joke...*rants on GGOOC channel*

Dr Mechano uses the 'Egghead' badge...just because i think it suits him most, especially since he's fond of attending the evening courses at the university on Cape Au Diable. "Genetic engineering and you: how to create your own Ubermenschen" comes to mind as his most recent course he's attending.

Badge Earned: Wing Clipper

A real showstopper!

Sera typically runs with 'Chaotician' as she's a big fan of chaos and it's causes, or 'Faultless Mystic', as she clearly isn't.

If it's not one of those two, it's based on her mood. 'Imploding' is probably a bad sign, for one.
