Last night at Pocket D:
Andrew 'Axolotl' Varr turned up for a drink, and left when Silvana's (can't remember the character name proper) mentions of her torturing people brought back memories of his time with Crey.
Number Nine turned up and spent a while staring into nothing, before getting into a conversation with a group of villains including Nightschild, Silvana, Big Lunk and Tormentress, where discussions on AI, emulated emotions, job and choices of lifestyle were discussed. Nene then went to speak to Sword of Truth and Jiffy Blakes, getting some not that plesant news, and left them with $20 to get something to drink with, and wishes that when they next speak things will be more calm and happy.

Last night on patrolÂ…
When The Amber Banshee arrived at Militia Headquarters in Founders Falls, chaos seemed to have come to town. From what she could gather, the errant hero Dragonfly had had another arrest warrant issued against her and had gone on the run. Recent Militia recruit Gash Jackal , a mechanised police unit had attempted to detain Dragonfly only for her fellow team-mates to step in, enabling her to escape. The machine was swift to reprimand the rest of the team for allowing a wanted fugitive to get away. Amber secretly agreed with Jackal but kept quiet, her last conversation with Dragonfly having been quite hurtful. MerÂ’de explained that the Militia was once again being investigated and that all members would be required to report to Hero Corps with their licenses for questioning. The subject of licenses raised a few concerns amongst the assembled team, some admitting to not owning one.
Following the meeting, the assembled Militia went on patrol. After a difficult but successful intervention in Croatoa, Amber went to Pocket D to relax. It was notable that there was a large number of villains present which left her slightly on edge. She spoke briefly to Gauisus Somnium , who was in good spirits and helped to cheer her up some. She intended to speak to Lady Patriot who appeared to have something on her mind but instead was grabbed by Cosmic Silver who was keen to know whether Amber would be interested in knowing where Dragonfly was hiding. Facing a crisis of conscience of whether she should defend her team-mate or betray her, Amber decided that it was best not to know at which point Cosmic departed. Feeling somewhat torn between her loyalties, Amber left, still not sure what to do about the situation.

Number Nine swung by Pocket D earlier and chatted to Shadowplay, and got a bit upset when she found out that Jiffy Blakes had been murdered. She offered some help, before heading off to get something to eat. She swung by Pocket D later, but upon hearing a group of individuals from the Rogue Isle laughing at Nightsparrow being arrested at her wedding, she bid her farewell and headed off.
Usual night at D's last night, flirtacious Echo getting drunk yet again and not knowing who to talk to. She ended up whispering to Tormentress about her private life while confirming to Nightblood that yes she was born in an asylum. She also got friendly with Warrior Gloominess offering her work probably will do her paperwork today, something Echo will rush through. Later on in the evening she got a little worried and discussed to her partner Big Lunk that she thinks the ritual from demon back to human never worked aswell as she expected.
Last night, Roselin went to Pocket D and greeted Sarah and Nick who were discussing Sarah's alternate dimension double... Gaining the attention of those around them, they moved to a quieter bar to continue the conversation.
The current update was exhanged and a lot of speculation done.
Gash Jackal arrived and joined in the conversation.
Vigilante Storm passed on the news of Jiffy's demise.. which wasn't taken with much tears, as he wasn't known, and as a press member by default not popular
This sparked a discussion between Gash and Nick about papers, news, politics, democracy, laws and the corrupt nature of them all.
Staying out of it for the most part, Rose and Sarah chatted about other things, differences and similarities between Sarah1 and Sarah2, some finer points of fashion and purpose and more.
Zeyna arrived at some point and claimed 90% of Nicks attention and teasing, which had before that been directed at Rose and Sarah (as usual).
More happened, I zoned out at some point... got back and found that Sarah was talking with the shrink that Nick reccomended. (Savanha?)
As the two had a session, this left Rose and Nick to talk between themselves, mostly in whispers to not desturb them, or perhaps to keep the subject hidden...
Nick told some things about himself and other, most interesting conversation for Rose... possibly dangerous as well...
More chatting about Sarah and the dimensional difficulties, and the personal lives of those there, except for Sarah's as she left in time to avoid that

Silent Tempest relations with Militia! Sabrina San hunted! Death of Jiffy Blakes! New issue of Inquirer! All this and a commentary track in the latest addition to Nightsparrow's scrapbook!
Tonight fairly quiet night Echo talked to Rapacity for the majority, her usual banter discussing torture and then about Nightblood / Sarah about how she escaped from her asylum and done brutal things to the doctors that held her captive. Later on in the night Nightblood appeared and then three girls discussed it more Sarah went into detail and Rapacity seemed quite pleased, amused. Echo stood giggling away enjoying the talk herself. Echo asked Sarah whether she still lived in the same apartment, the apartment behind the picturehouse, Sarah described it as a yes and then mentioned Togrin a greater demon the one that Echo is terrifed of so much so she walked away from the conversation throwing her half empty glass caring not for being banned or arrested, she grabbed the bartender but came slightly to her senses (or not) grabbing a full bottle of absinth and necking half of it, this made her dillusional and even more paranoid Nightblood and Rapacity were either left with dumping Echo or dragging her home, so the two dragged her home. Echo was laid into her bed, arm detached mumbling in paranoia and terror while the two other girls discuss other subjects. Soon after Echo was later comforted by Sarah and Rapacity assuring her that the demon had been banished, shortly after she fell asleep.

This (and more) is why I have decided to /ignore Echo Hammer. This is why some other regulars leave early.
It is one thing to be a villain, it's an other to be completely insane or evil or both.
If you like to talk about ... things that you know has a fair chance of disgusting people.
Could you do it at the Villain side bar?
You're literally ruining the RP experience for others.
Thank you

If in a bar you see people whom you don't like, surely you go to some other place? Even on hero side there are four bar counters which are out of earshot form each other.
On the other hand, as people react as they will, villains who proudly discuss their more gruesome exploits will notice those not in the mood for gore drifting away.
Don't go OOC. Tell the characters IC that you prefer to be away from them. Then go to the next counter. Wait for some others who think like that come to you. Then resume RP.
Just to note, Coile and Echo go a way back so Coile is likely to give Echo some leeway, although he'd be prone to steer the discussion away from such topics. From others he is not likely to take such boasting very much at all. So, chances are that we'll meet at some other bar counter.
It's IC, folks. If at all possible, deal with it IC. Surely villains will understand when told that if they talk about gore then a lot of people will stop talking to them. If they are after social interaction with others they will adjust accordingly, or be IC excluded.
Well, three. There's two topside and two bottomside, but one of the bars heroes topside and heroes bottomside is in the same place roughly, so you get some conversation crossover, but that's me being pedantic.
I'll be following this advice, probably heading to Heroes Lower Windowside bar if such situations happening, seeing as then both bars are roughly visible to the others (So you can see characters turning up at one or the other), yet are still out of chat range.
Though speaking of villains, I've noticed a Villains+/Heroes- swing in the attendance of Pocket D, though this may be due to the several court cases/murder investigations/police investigations befalling Paragon's finest (and not so, if you'd believe the Inquirer.)
And yes, it is true. Nene does have a firm, strong, composite super-alloy crafted rear of uncorruptability.
Sure, why not...
So much for expecting some player desency but oh well... ICA=ICC right?
Too bad they don't adhere to it when they don't want to, but that's an other matter all together
the recap!
Last night Roselin found Jane at Pocket D and met Prom, they chatted for a while about I don't remember what before they were 'chased off'.
Oh well... later Sarah2 (Fallen Patriot) came by and they chatted a bit. Sarah2 wasn't feeling too good, and after a slight sitting down, Roselin escorted Sarah2 to her place of residence and cared for her until she stabalized.
Rose didn't like the person providing the hotelroom and so persuaded Sarah2 to relocate. Sarah2 seemed to trust Roselin over Feyth (the one that offered her the room) and so they left. Roselin set her up for the night and they arranged for longer arrangements the following day.

I didnt post here to get flamed. And you done the right thing i guess even if it was an OOC way to deal with it. Echos been the same since i came up with the concept (well just about) she'll gloat about what shes done.
And what you say about evilness and insane. Damn right, Echos both of them. I somewhat doubt my character would go to another part of the bar because _ive_ been told to, IC is IC. Echo wants to stay in the blue area and tease Heroes so be it.

I didn't post to flame, mostly in hopes that you were unawares rather then unconserned of other player's conserns.
It's all about choice...
I chose the easy way of staying there where the crowd is and not having to listen to ...
If -I- was requested to (and agree with the reasons for) <OOC action X>, I wouldn't let my character stand in the way of that, usually it's a minor adjustment.
But I assume you don't agree with the reasons for this, so that's fair too

...as a sort of flame. There is no need to critique on these boards how others RP because there is no one way that all parties agree on.
I could say that exact same sentence to a bunch of people. But, that would just brew negativity and probably bring nothing good at all. So, instead I tend to select the crowd I play with.
Sometimes I put up with stuff I don't particularly enjoy. Sometimes I don't and I move a few meters to be out of chat range, or go totally elsewhere to do other things. Mind you, sometimes Coile moving away has more to do with talking about secrets or discreet stuff than about just avoiding others.
If there is a wish to inform and educate, then the manner should be as neutral as possible.
And although I have also done it on occasion, it is not (imho) polite to publically voice /ignores. Maybe that's just me.
I'm contemplating a longer recap, but I feel even a short one is needed as a lot of stuff is now happening in small groups and behind closed doors.
Two disasters struck. One was Coile telling, as asked, to Love Angel's parents that their girl was a licensed hero. The other was the wedding ceremony of Andre and Melanie (aka Coile and Nightsparrow) which ended in police arresting Melanie for all kinds of stuff, including multiple counts of murder.
Love Angel's situation became bad. Her parents were firmly opposed to Diana being a hero, so much that they thought of moving away. A new approach attempt was made by Sword of Truth and Kitalia but their case didn't hold much weight. If anything, Jane and Nigel were more strongly inclined to move away.
Coile made one final attempt and reasoned along the lines Sword had used but added the angle of Diana's happiness into the mix. A sort of deal was struck and Nigel wanted to see up close how Tempest worked in the missions. (I was dubious about using Invincible setting for this but it represented the actual risks.) This went all belly up from the beginning when Sword used her field commander authority and Nigel didn't agree on the terms. The game was lost, and so was Diana.
Then Diana fell ill. Well, just fell. She collapsed and would not wake up in the hospital. The parents were frantic and tried to block Tempest from even learning how their friend was. Sword came again to blows with Nigel and it was Coile later who managed to convince the father that a Tempest doctor Star Crusader could maybe help Diana. After signing some papers Coile got a permission to call Xan to examine Diana.
It turned out that Diana's very nature to do good had become a life threatening obstacle. She wanted to please her parents by being diligent in school, to do as they told and to move away. At the same time she felt distraught over having to leave her hero life and her team behind. It was a dilemma she could not solve as either option woul dhave been going against her nature. So, her mind just shut down.
Again after some parental hassle a permit to treat Diana was obtained as well as a contract wich stated the rules under which Diana could still function as a hero. Coile and Sword used medicines to bring Diana out of her lockdown and talked to her, and that seemed to solve the problem.
Now Diana is recovering. There is still no idea how badly the lockdown damaged her mind and if her powers still exist or if they were wiped out as she sought to solve her dilemma from the inside. Time will tell. She is yet to return to action. Coile visits her daily.
Next up: wedding from hell, or I married a serial killer.
I'm afraid that a character can get in the way of the player's common decency, if moving the character away so they can speak about gory things when normally they'd find the largest gathering and taunt heroes with it then moving to a quiet area's going against everything the character is.
Coile's perfectly right in saying you should have taken the initiative in removing yourself from range. It's what anyone does in real life - you avoid things that make you uncomfortable.
Unless your character is arrogant enough to stand in the middle saying "bugger orf chaps, your disrupting my sensitive ears, ehwot?!"
either way it should have been resolved IC. since you are one of the people who have tended to quote ICA=ICC at other people often in the past why not make the example.

I've never been a big fan of ICA=ICC, mostly because I've found that it just doesn't work that way.
And IIRC this is the first time I've quoted it at some one

ah right, i'm mistaken then. it gets quoted so much that my brain goes wiggly.
I'm sure though that since this has come up publicly players will be more careful about others who may be more squeamish than usual or more uncomfortable around certain topics for whatever reasons.
personally i've a thing about hanging and suicide but since it's never come up at GG it's never been a problem. It's just a helpful idea to let people know what you really really would prefer not to talk about.
Oh, Coile's post about things happening elsewhere jogged my memory!
Doctor Temporis came across Number Nine in the recreation district of the laboratory, in a rather flattering... swimsuit?! Yes, Nene has spent a week off work, and has decided to try to learn to swim. Doc was working on a robo-fish (James Pond?!) and they chatted for a bit before Nene got into the pool. And sunk like a brick. Doc dragged her to the shallow end, and after a while of practice, she had gotten fairly good at swimming!
Quite an eventfull night in D's yesterday for lunk.
He finaly got to meet coile in person. only prior run ins before that where PVP zones, and lunk doesnt concider punching someone in the jaw a 'proper' introduction.
Lunk's still touting for business, trying to get coile to pay to have his wife broke out of jail.
yesterday, he also found out "theres monkeys in here", and drags echo and evelyn/WG to the lounge over the monkey fight club.
Later, Umbra, a fragment of tao'grim (one of EVIL's agents) turns up, demanding to be alowed to appologise to echo for what grim had done to her.
Echo freaks out, and nearly has a breakdown, crying into lunk.
Lunk sees Umbra as the embodyment of the reason he nearly lost Echo, and now has a new target for outletting anger :P
No need for me to say what happened later on then
Although earlier in the day Echo was handed her ring from Big Lunk in his bloody state he went to pretty extreme lengths to get it, he hoped he could of gave Echo her engagement ring at a better moment but the secret ended up coming out when Echo caught Lunk and Warrior Gloominess talking about it and how he had got it. Echo was chuffed obvisouly. Evelyn/WG ended up asking where he got it from it was a few moment later Echo hinted the two girls should go 'shopping' in Paragon city the two had great fun, well bar they never really payed for their goods. The night continued on and a small grouping at base Tormentress, Darkest Nights Evelyn Lunk and Echo just sat chilling till Echo got a phone call, another potential Nether Ripper later joined in to say the least people were shocked by his looks but Echo got down to business and he was accepted into the organisation it was after that the group headed to D's...

Odd mental image of Lunk as Homer Simpson there. "Look Marge, monkeys!"
Last night!
I wasn't about for the whole night, my RP drive was stuck in park it seemed later on. But while it was still running, Number Nine turned up and chatted to Coile, Energyneer and Lady Patriot a little, before giving Coile a hug. Aww! As she was chatting with him about his misfortunes, a small, pink and blonde blur pounced on him and quickly hugged the breath out of Andre. Love Angel is out of hospital! Nene seemed really pleased to see her and picked her up for a hug, and the three chatted a little, before Nene got talking to a talk show hostess named Tracey, who seems to want to put Nene on the show. ((Can't make it if it's filmed this coming friday, as I'm on a train to London.))
Nene and Tracey chatted for a bit about being a gynoid, before Tracey started to speak to Andre, and Diana and Nene had a good chat about swimming, dreams and nightmares. Nene was quickly getting tired, because she had spent the prior night up late in 'Sapphos', a night club in Steel Canyon. The things Nene has to do to learn various methods of socializing.
She bid her farewell to Diana, Andre and Mensc/Jacob, and got/gave a kiss on the cheek from Diana. She contemplated on giving Andre another hug and a kiss on the cheek, but how would the tabloids interpret that?
