Ill/* Question: Slotting Spectral Terror

I've just hit lvl 26 with my Ill/Rad toon and picked up Spetral Terror. I was wondering if there's a generally-agreed optimal slotting for this power? I'm more interested in PvE, if it makes a difference.

I was originally planning to put some recharge reduction in it but the spooky thing is nearly perma anyway.

At the moment I just have 1 SO accuracy slotted but I'm nearly lvl 27 alreayd and wondered if it was worth putting anything else into it.

Mine is slotted 1acc, 1 recharge, 1 fear. Works for me, in PvE and PvP.

For PvE, 1 Acc and 1 Fear is probably enough. For PvP, a Range can be also useful. Never bothered with Rchg.

Errm afaik, slotting range would only enable you to cast the ST further, but the fear cone remains the same length

Absolutely. But this can be helpful in PvP. For example if you're flying above someone and want to drop ST on them . Remember that the default casting range is smaller than that of your holds/attacks.

Why?

I'd go with fear duration. and accuracy for PvP.

As for dropping it on people in PvP, if you cast it in the air it will fall.

True, but because they fall straight down, I still find the Range useful for positioning ST. Hence why I said "can be also useful". YMMV.

2 Acc / 2 Fear - works aces for pvp and pve

Thanks for your recommendations. I was expecting to have to 6-slot it! I decided in the end on 1 Accuracy, 1 Fear and 1 Recharge.

As I'll be running with Tactics and Radiation Infection most of the tiem, 1 Accuracy should be plenty. The recharge is there for those occasions during long fights where the victims around the Terror have been wiped out, so I can re-summon it to a new location to incapacitate the enemeies still standing - this tends to happen to me a lot when teaming.

never found I needed the recharge, "Timmy" as he's been fondly called by most people, is usually recharged way before he ends, and you have maybe Hasten for a "semi-perma" PA, as well as Accelerated Metabolism, to help with recharges..

Tbh, even in long fights, I've not needed the recharge at all in there.

i would put 2 recharge.. well thats what i did.. until i respeced it out , i had 2 fear, 1 recharge, 2 acc

i have 2 accuracy and 2 fear in mine works just fine i run hasten and acelerate metabolism and i can recast it before it dissapears

I really can't see any benefit whatsoever to having recharges in it. I don't have any and I have never been in a situation where it wasn't ready to go when I wanted it.

Yup with no recharges its always recharged before the previous one fades away

Hmm, then it may just be the offensively-oriented teams I've been ending up in. I'll swap out the recharge for a second fear enhancer and see what happens.

I agree. Spectral terror is perma. it come on just when it wears off.
Actually i have it with 1 acc. and it works pretty fine in PvE, putting fear to any kind of npc. (elite-boss too).
Don't think it works with av, but in that case sure u have a good debuffer in the team and some great dmg dealer....
