more the merrier, adapted plan to fit tanks, although they're still no as important as the other main 4.
Also a question for tanks out there, if one tank is taunting a target, and the other is attacking it continuously, will the punchvoke from the attacking tank draw the aggro off of the taunting tank at any time?
only played one for a few lvls so not very knowledgeable about it
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, attacking tank can steal the aggro from the taunter, unless something is changed by devs in the last months.
[/ QUOTE ]
No they can't. At least, not on a Hamidon raid or the Hami tank would lose aggro all the time, and he doesn't.
[/ QUOTE ]
They did pre I9. Last time i was in the taunt team pre I9 raid tanks got chances to steal aggro. Doesn't always happened ofc. This can be changed in I9, but for sure it was true before.
Anyway i'm happy if this is the case as this means tankers have some use other than taunting
EDIT: x Lost Samurai
Nevermind if u already got the tank team, there will be many other occasions to do Hami raid. I have no problems.
Yep, the troller is almost 45 since 6 months now lol. It's time to level up!

I've read you already got the tanks, but if there is any room for Gilgameesh, i'll join. Never done the new Hamidon so I wish to attend, if possible
Would be a nice return ingame for me

i think /ff is being overlooked, dispersion enables you to prevent all the squishies from being held/disoriented as well as all the def boosts. An earth bubble would be hell to solo but would be great team support
[/ QUOTE ]
Force field is a nice set. Problem with it is many people find applying the bubbles tedious and don't keep their team mates buffed. Some people drop the deflection and insulation field.
An example just today. I was in a mission with a SG colleague and a FF mastermind. He used the shields on his pets, never on his team mates, untill asked by my colleague to buff. He then used the shields once on my colleague. In the meantime I was keeping him and the rest of the team buffed with my shield. So even trying to set an example didn't help. We decided to go help some lower lvl heroes in the COH SG lvl.

Well said. What do you (not you, paragon, but everyone in the thread) mean about support? I know, you are speaking about support powers, but, support concept can't be associated at a single teammate. Support is a team-wide good way of play. My troller can support well with holds, heals, pa, etc... only if tankers support me taking aggro and blasters/scrappers kill fast, that is the best damage diminishing control power
IMO.
If you want to be a support player, be sure teaming with players that support you.
Said that, i agree that ill trollers are best in solo but i assure that they are good (ok, ok, not the best, but not poor as someone said) in control if u know how and when to use pa, st, phantasm, etc... You need to know how to move around to have the pets do their job without going crazy.
So, i don't completely agree with the concept of 'fire and forget', but this is a team-dependant choice.
Another thing is that everyone jumped speaking about control, not mentioning healing (it's not a support power?). I know there r defenders that heal better, but an ill/emp troller is a good combo (and a classic), because, depending of the team, you can decide to support with both primary and secondary or just primary having the secondary as an help to the emp def of the team, without forgetting the boosts.
A final note on ST. i found the power one of the best, imo. Is perma (unless u go debuffed). With only 1 acc, fear also even-level eb, and +2 bosses, imagine with more slots.
I have it as my 2nd power in my chain, not my 4th. PA then ST, and i fire ST always as soon as it wears off.
I have read somewhere that Nemesis are resistant to fear. In my experience i don't think so, at least now it's not true. Maybe something is changed in the game but i assure u that Nemesis robots go feared. -
[ QUOTE ]
I really can't see any benefit whatsoever to having recharges in it. I don't have any and I have never been in a situation where it wasn't ready to go when I wanted it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. Spectral terror is perma. it come on just when it wears off.
Actually i have it with 1 acc. and it works pretty fine in PvE, putting fear to any kind of npc. (elite-boss too).
Don't think it works with av, but in that case sure u have a good debuffer in the team and some great dmg dealer....
Edit: lol, just seen that Dark already answered in this way. Sorry. -
Personally i've seen that SI lose the stealth only if the foes are very close the glowie otherwise nothing happens. i've stealthed many missions in this way. Another thing is that having pets that take the aggro, u easy regain stealth after few seconds, unless u heal phantasm
(i saw that spectral terror is great in this situation, it works with any npc, even bosses +2, quite well).
I soloed Adamastor (elite boss, not av, of course) tonight, just using pets, in SI. He never attacked me.
I never used GI but i've seen used by others, it have some use imo, but only in some case. ie: stealthing mis with no one having recall friend, with some risk, as said by someone, if gi wears off in the wrong place.
I have SI always on with no big problem with end. Anyway i have no personal knowledge of FF powerline, so PFF could be better that SI, saving you a different power, but i can only say my love to SI. -
I want just to say thank you very much to Paragon Girl for this fun raid and all other leaders and everyone was in.
Not enough holders, but i'm sure it was a good moment for all the newcomers that now know what is a hami raid, hopefully doing it with success next time.
Thank you very much Paragon
Finally a big ty to my teammates that have done a great job. -

I think 4 empaths is about right. As Empath says, 1 empath is probably enough for just Hami. The problems is that the Hami tank will get aggro from multiple Mitos during the clearing phase, for me it was something like for 75% of the clearing phase. Once the holding phase starts you could probably cut down to 2.
Why the controller?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's right.
Anyway, during hold phase, i could (as any) have lag problems, so a well positioned pet could help.
I know these are optional, but why don't use them if u can?
If i loose target and have no other way to do it, why wasting entire raid just because a single troller is not a must?
And don't forget the kin secondary.... -
Honesty, why u want to have less ppl?
If this is a public raid, have the ppl do the job.
The team is max 8 ppl, why i should run with less? I know it can works, but i want more empath, thx.
About bubbler, if u read the post, it's written that clear mind can be used instead of bubbler, so what's new? -
Thank you Paragon for giving me a chance
TAUNT TEAM - Recruiting
Well, this is to call for players needed to form the taunt team.
I leave, of course, to the raid leader all the necessary considerations about the main strategy and basic rules (cossie, toggles, etc...).
The Taunt team should be formed by:
1 main taunt tanker (me)
1 backup tanker
1 grav/ice-kin troller
1 bubbler
4 empath (defenders only)
we can go with 5 empath and no bubbler if empaths are sure they can manage with clear mind.
Everyone first comer is welcome, but they must read this Guide
About the backup tanker.
I know, i am asking something hard to a tanker.... doing almost nothing (except if i go down or a gm come too close the team).
A stone tanker is preferred as i got no hp boosts, but any is welcome.
What i can assure is (i was a backup tank in the past):
1. a very good place to look close at raid and learn more.
2. a chance to be a raid saver, just pulling away that damned gm that aggroed empaths
The minimun slotting for taunt is 2 taunt + 2 recharge. Personally i have 2 taunt + 3 recharge + 1 range
If you have read the above mentioned guide, you'll know what bind/macro you must have.
Further details in Eden before starting.
Please, answer here or send me a pm. -
You are right Mighty, there are some new buffs in the 2nd device as energy resistance that's not present in the 1st, so i expect some new in the 3rd too.
-
I have tested the buffs with both tech and arcane and they don't stack. I have done the tests with an arcane normal device and a tech 2nd lvl device. U can have more different buffs but no way to stack them (also using one from tech and one from arcane device).
Well, i didnt seen any different choice about buffs in the 2nd lvl device: they only costs more salvage and give the same buff as the normal. The only different choice is to build the 3rd lvl device, abiut that i don't know anything as i never built it.
edit: i mean, they give the same buff time,i dunno if they give a better buff in terms of percent. No time to test it. -
I have seen... but there r the device upgrade that, in the description, say they can build long duration buffs. Then normal empowerment device now gives 1 hour buffs, so why the updated device (that need more salvage) do the same?
My question is: is this only a bug or devs just made it useless, increasing the normal buffs to 1 hour? -
What's the point of having the upgraded machine if the duration of the buff is the same, 1 hour?
Is this a bug or simply I wasted the salvage building that useless device? -
I will be there with Gilgameesh as part of mito clearing team or taunt team as u prefer.
-
I am glad to join you for this hard job
if there is a place. -
Magic Sun ill/empath will be there. If the autoexemp at 28 could waste something i can bring up Green Katana, lvl 26 scrapper.

Congrats for new life
Sorry you could not be in the raid yesterday, will be for the next time
Anyway was a good raid and i got all Signature AV in one hour. Thx anyway for organizing it.
See ya next for the pillboxes. -
Gilgameesh will be glad to join you next Sunday.
I need all AV's, 2 pillboxes and 1 heavie badges, so i am up for anything -
Congratulations.
After my return to CoH i worked harder to reach 300 and now i wanna more
Count me in for any badge-hunting you wanna do -
Well, as happened for the last eden trial, the chance to build more than one team is high, so anyone involved in this, just go to the contact at the right time and we'll see
Anyway, don't forget that this tf will take you busy for more than one day (evening). -
If there is room and the autoexemp don't waste anything, i wish to redo this...
I agree with You, Phil, this ìs the best trial of the game!
