Hami cant cope with us, he needs help

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

Yay Team Defiant !

Thanks to everyone who organised this, and everyone who did the PA testing, and all who took part.

One Question - When's the next ?

Raid was fun if a little disappointing/irritating to see no HO reward at the end of it, I'm another in the club of those who didn't receive one. I made doubly sure that I'd hit and caused damage and I actually used two seperate attacks which both registered to make sure, since Xanth stated no more than two hits would be necessary.

Have petitioned and bugged it, not very impressed with how erratic it is on the raid reward at all.

This is NOT working as the last THREE raids we did succesfully. If they have indeed changed it, it's a stealth change and not Noted. If they haven't, it's bugged. The raid went ahead to the best of our knowledge and we apologise to those that didn't receive a HO.

We probably won't run another raid until we know how the HO drop works at the moment because asking people to take two hours out for an evening for no reward isn't fair.

Oh yeah, people that haven't received a HO go HERE !

BIG Thanks to the organisers of this raid it was awesome although Hami vanished for me at the end and i did get to see anything but a bunch of heroes throwing holds at thin air.

All I can say is that this was the event I was most looking forward to and it didnt leave me dissapointed also got to trade my no use for me Hami-O for a nice shiney Range/Damage.

Count me in for the next

Sapphire Maiden lvl 50 Eng/Eng/Flame Blaster
Misstrix lvl 50 Fire/Rad/Ice Controller
Foundations Claw lvl 50 Fire/Fire/Flame Tank

Was nigh on three hours for me, arrived there around 6:30pm, raid ended at roughly 9:20pm. Have posted on both topics, we won't be hearing anything from support about it on a Sunday though, I just don't want to hear any nonsense along the lines of "as we cannot verify you infact dealt damage to hamidon we cannot award you the HO you did not receive".

That felt damn good

I'm truly sorry some didnt get the HO reward for all the hard work.

We will see if we can tweak the strategy when we figure out what's causing it.

Thanks to Generalissmo 2 for doing the PA tests with me and all the PA droppers....did a spiffing job

I don't think it's the strategy at all, especially not if there's a topic about the exact same issue on the US forums, with a redname acknowledging a bug and stating they're working on a fix. No, the raid went smoothly and everything was organised well, it's just thanks to some bug/glitch a good chunk of us didn't get credit for it come the end. Erratic too if what Xanthus said about someone brawling once getting rewarded, and others who dealt more damage getting nothing.

Could someone outline the strategy used quickly, and any tips for us wannabe raiders on Union who keep crashing the server with excess numbers?

I could, but it'd be far easier just to link you to this post.

iirc it's like an outside kill.. if you are too far away from that which did the final damage you don't recieve the reward.. and I believe from what I've seen, and people have said, that Hamidon works the same way.

So being on "cowards hill" or anywhere far enough away = no Hami-O

Granted, that sometimes when you hit summat "kill steal for instance", and run off you get a rewards.. but usually you're still with in a certain distance of that "target".

Addition::

And AFAIK, it's always been like that. Why do all US get Hami-Os.. why.. because they're ALL in the JELLY.

Blame the crap servers.. not the Hamidon.

So I'm guessing, Hamidon has it's own set of rules/ranges/etc.. I mean come on.. Hamidon is the Unqiue GM in the game.. he's entitled to his own set of rules.

It was a nice satisfying raid (up until the lack of HO's anyway). Many thanks to the kins for speed boosting us hovering invised illusionists - bless your eyesight

Edit: In response to Raziel_DX, whereas Union seem to have a history with people not getting HO's to the best of my knowledge Defiant has never had an issue in the past with people not getting HO's when they should.

I'm pretty sure Xanthus will be doing a Hami Raid on Union as well, once he's got his controller to lv 50 over there.

That would make sense, if we didn't use this tactic succusfully before. The last 3 succesful raids, we used the exact same tactics(except for different PA tactics)and everyone got Hami-O's then. This time they didn't. That indicates a problem in the game rather than a problem with tactics. As for people in the US getting their Hami-O's, I believe someone posted a thread over there complaining about the exact same thing. Have a look

Gratz to Xanthus for leading another succesful raid and a big thanks to Archy and Generalissmo for testing and designing a new Phantom Army tactic, which was the key to our succes this time.

I was just there to have ideas bounced off me and to add a second set of decoys to the testing - Archy deserves full credit for getting the PA droppers focussed and following a workable plan

Yip was good to be at another sucessfull Hammi. Thankyou Xantuas for anotehr good raid

Alas no Hammi O

no idea why, followed the battle plan as per normal and did damage to the hammi as looked back combat text, and was not rewarded with any Hammi O, when we defeated him

What gives, hope the devs can look into this promptly. Sent in petition and bug report !

Hopefully a hammi O will be granted to those of us who participated and never got rewarded it as think was a good few of us from what i can gather on broadcast

Again, this is not the case. As I posted on the other topic: I was stood directly outside of the Hami jelly with many other players, we were in range, and we'd ensured that we had dealt damage during the pre-hold phase.

aye ive jsut read that post.. but if it means dong 50% dmg to get it.. how on earth doesnt each team do 50% dmg to hami to ensure return.. considering his HP levels.. you'd have to have 1 main damager on team at all times inside the jelly it seems.

No, no, you misunderstand. What I speculated in the other post was perhaps everyone had to get their 1 attack in at some point while he was below 50% or perhaps even 25% health in order to get credit. As it stands we all did it while he was at 100% and then the hold phase started with the rest of us withdrawn to outside the jelly. I'm wondering whether everyone who didn't receive an HO had only attacked him during that pre-hold phase (at ~100%), and everyone who did had snuck a hit or two in during the holding phase thus ensuring themselves credit.

Either way though, Cricket has acknowledged it as a bug on the US boards and stated that a fix is in the works, so it's obviously not WAI whatever went wrong. I'm hoping in the meantime that our petitions don't get us wasted time and extra aggravation.
