best scrapper build
I personally dislike these posts; nothing good or helpful comes out of them. Just a lot of big headed player claiming their build is Infallible.
Fair enough some builds may seem slightly better than others but its mainly down to how good you are as a player and how you play the alt; aswell as your gaming experience and reactions. What ever build you choose, it can be made into a very good one. (Just remember there will always be someone that can beat you - Me HAHA *Joke* )
What I will say is that all Power Sets not just Scrappers, have their own advantages and disadvantages, and some may work better with certain secondary.
[u]My lil summery, might be wrong as its off the top of my head
[u]
Board Sword and Katana are very a like, BS basically does more damage but has slow recharge times. They both have a huge defence buff that comes with one power, its +def melee so this mean psionic, toxic and everything else melee. The down side is all attacks are close range.
Dark has a Heal, +End Self power, Fear which not many have res to, Immobilise, and Acc right though all the attacks which stacks very well. The only bad think is there isnt that much damage within the Set.
Spines does Toxic damage, has immobilise, some range attacks and a PBAoE. Its very end heavy though.
Martial Arts has three disorient attacks which can be really deadly to anyone without Res, most squishes are buggered unless they have aid self. The damage and speed is as good as any of the others sets.
Personal preference Katana, as thats what I'm playing

I never said Chives was the best Scrapper, I said Spines is the best set. We can all have our personal preferences but there is a definate answer to the OP's question and I'm giving it.

Wasnt pointing no fingers mate, I just meant in general; I was thinking back more to that never ending Best PvP Blaster Post tbh.
Do I have the only Dark\Dark scrapper out there, Hes great to play, resist to almost everything. Only drawback is that hes not the most damaging build.
Is it me or do all the scrappers running around at the moment have regen as there secondary.

It's to make up for it looking awful Chives
Like the others have said, /regen is good and a lot of fun. Personally I'm claws/regen, but I suspect BS/Regen would be great fun (although either of the swords work nicely with SR too)
find me: @Ebon Hawk or @Jayd Dragon on Union
I currently have a few scrappers in the works...started my 1st and caught the bug.
I got a MA/Rgn at lvl44, a DM/SR at lvl25 and a Spines/DA at lvl12, and would have to say that the Spines/DA is the craziest thing i've ever rolled...all that damage, all that aggro...i'm a defenders worst nightmare, and i'm LOVING every minute of it
Eats endurance like skittles tho...
Just to point out the primairy sets
Spines: if you want an easy time killing squishies (but we have enough of those already:P)
Katana: late bloomer...till soaring dragon your damage aint to good...lotus drops is an awesome pbaoe at lvl 18 tho..this set is also very effective in the later lvl's..
Broadsword: biiig damage..tho less movement..if you move a lot you might wanna take katana instead but the damage of B.S is certainly worth it.
MA: stuns..-fly..very nice damage..knockback..overal a very nice set...might need some end reds in moves tho..
DM: best overal set imo..would be better in pvp if it had build up tho..fear..-acc...immobilize..quick chains of damage (except that shadow maul animation is a bit long)..great build up in pve called souldrain..also a great end drain..if you want a unique experience and a very fun set go DM
Claws: awesome set..very underrestimated..not the highest dps in team pvp/zone pvp but in duels you can keep follow up perma which is awesome..can outdamage a lot of people with it..also 2 range KB moves which are fast and the damage is nice
Secondairy sets
Regen: who doesn't know regen..the insane heals and the nice stamina clone...this set is your friend if you go pve/pvp
Super reflexes: better in pve since i7..awesome like always in pvp..slot it fully and love it..stay away from blappers tho cause they tend to be a pain:P
Invul: underrestimated..mainly cause of the nerf..would take this faster in pve then pvp
DA: its okay..just not that good..lack of kb res is a pain so you find yourself runnin acrobatics a lot...very end heavy...very good heal and its a fun experience in pve..not really worth in pvp badly enough
If u plan to roll a bs or a katana, i'd advice sr, if u think of playing a spines or ma, go regen. DA I wouldn't know tbh, both do well with it.
To level quickly, i'd say spines/regen. To be almost unkillable, bs/sr. For pvp... well depends on who you are fighting against. Regen are blasters nightmare, but sr are a pain for trollers

Wrong Max, nrg is better. And in PvP it simply doesnt have more damage. Only n00bs take a full melee chain and nrg has much better utility, powerboost, boost range, conserve power.
Best scrapper is spines / regen, unless your PvPing in teams than I prefer spines / sr.

I've seen heaps of posts about /regen scrappers, but virtually NOONE uses Invuln scrappers any more.
I've tried some of the other options, but settled on Kat/Inv as I found IMHO that it's the best build for those times where you just CAN'T find a team. It's solo happy and works well when you're in a team too.
To the OP, try options out. If it doesn't work for you after a while, delete and restart... it doesn't take that long to get levelling if you team up. Good luck no matter WHICH AT you choose!

You have no idea how much I miss Unstoppable on my Dark Armour Brute. The lack of Panic Button on DA is a big disadvantage IMHO, especially in PvP.
Also, Dark Regeneration's uberness is significantly reduced in PvP. Not only is there guarenteed to be less foes around for you to soul-suck but if they're a Defense-based toon, you'll have a hard time hitting them with it too.
The Fear and Psi Res and all is nice, but I've had much more success on my Regen Scrapper and my Invuln Tank and my Invuln Brute.

[/ QUOTE ]NRG is less damaging, due to the fact that elec has more damaging powers. Also, power sink owns conserve. Depending on primary, shocking grasp can be more useful than power boost.
They're both good sets, and in PvP /NRG tends to have the advantage. However, I was merely stating that /elec is more damaging, which it is.

So your reason to say elec has more damage is because it has the melee hold? You need to look at the complete set when you talk about damage, what about ice storm working with nrg because powerboost slows the crap out the the mobs in the storm?, so you get 1 monster AoE, where it doesnt work with ice / elec unless your on a team with good aggro control.
Just FYI hero builders numbers are wrong about nrg, its set too low.
After seeing both builds, I am of the opinion ice / nrg has more damage in PvE if you spec for it. Believe me you can make a superb AoE build with Ice because of powerboosted slows which elec does not have.

FYI - even tho this is a scrapper board, Ice storm 2 slotted for slow is enough to keep mobs within its effect for its entire duration. Unless they are flying or have slow res. Powerboost may allow you to achieve this with less slots, but what you described is available to ANY ice blaster.
Word of warning to the OP. I'd rate a Katana or Broadsword / Super Reflexes as a tough build. Not just tough for beginners, but tough for everyone. Super reflexes has the potential to be gimp if its not slotted correctly and you miss out certain powers. This imo makes getting a travel power and stamina quite tough. As stamina wins out on the priority board every time, it means i have to relegate travel power to very late in the build, which probably isnt the way to go as a new player.
I think, if you are trying to learn the game and enjoy it first time through, /regen would be the best 2ndary.
Take whatever primary you like. They all do damage in portions and some swop out damage on some attacks for utility in the form of stuns, fears, self heals etc. Pick one that excites you and fits your costume or concept plans. And, enjoy!

Rofl. 6 slotted ice storm = 4 slotted ice storm in terms of dps by those logics.

What?
Ice storm for a none */energy , 3/3 Damage Slow
is just as good as:
Ice storm for a */energy with PB. 3 Damage.
Anyone ever slot Ice Storm for Accuracy? No - thought not. (base acc of 2 accd to nofuture)
So, point being, you dont need */energy to make the aforementioned 'monster' aoe.

I don't think there's a best scrapper, and have only played a Broadsword/Superreflexes.
I do love playing him. Superreflexes is tight though, you will need all of your secondary powers or else you will fall, fall and fall again. That means you'll have to miss out on some attacks. Stamina you definately need because it's quite endurance heavy. And.....always carry some purple inspirations and some green ones. 1 purple pill can in later lvl max your defense easily. And depending on how the fight is going parry alot. Or if you're not getting much aggro just use your heave attacks.
A good SR is a thrill to play, you know you won't be hit much, but when you're hit it's gona hurt..........alot. (rikti bosses taking 60%of my health with one shot). But you mostly have time between hits to swallow a green pill.
And offcourse at lvl 38, elude, take it love it and use it alot.
