Actually, I'm pretty sure it has to be a fact that Spines is the best Scrapper set. Perhaps even, overpowered.

[/ QUOTE ]

Overpowered due to one single attack...Impale! Doing as much damage unslotted (in fact slightly more) as Power Burst and Shout from the blaster primaries with a greater range, does toxic, has -fly and immobilise and whatever else secondary effects. Spines is definitely overpowered. Or the blaster primaries are underpowered. One of the two!

Damn right. I wouldn't even mind the damage at range so much but the some of the secondary effects need to go.

immob
-jump
-fly
-spd
-recharge

So basically able to force any non teleporting character into melee. To add an insult to injury, my Plant dominator's Impale doesn't get the -jump. Do Spines scrappers need it more?!

The damage is almost as much as blaze and bitter ice blast.
Not only that, it has an endurance cost of 5.2 and a recharge of 8 seconds. Compared to the blaster primary high damage short range attack:
Power Recharge Endurance
Shout 11 11.024
Power Burst 10 10.4
Bitter Ice Blast 12 13
Blaze 10 10.4

With hasten and a couple of recharge slotted, you are talking about a recharge of not much over 3 seconds for an attack that does more damage than any blaster primary attack at that range bar snipes.

Huh, my scrapper's impale must be broken because I'm pretty sure I remember villains jumping away from me after I impaled them in PvP.

Oh, the description must be wrong then (it is for the Thorns Impale too, I just assumed it was something left over from scrappers)

costen speaks sence best scrapper dm/rgn they sum times out perform elude scrappers at there own game of not being hit with tof's accuracy debuff thos im extremelly scared to say

please dont nerf us

Actually if you want an un hittable build..as I suggested to coston..

DM/SR

Being that DM offers -Acc to whoever it hits and SR is all about dodging..

In sheer power : Broadsword
In quick but crippling attacks : Katana
In power and coolness : Martial Arts
In minus accuracy inducing and fairly powerful attacks : Dark Melee
In overpowered-ness : Spines
In quick and medium damage : Claws

i must say ur rite but basically for primary sets i fink scrappers are the most even arcatype in existence as with spines which is apparantly "the cheat way" for scrappers it isnt all that all mighty and a good bs/kat/dm cud hammer the average spines tho personally i reckon claws sucks [censored]

Spines is massive AoE damage, slows, ranged attacks, toxic damage, immobilises. It's more powerful than DM. The 2 don't even compete.

And I say this as a DM user who wouldn't ever touch spines. No matter how powerfully I can debuff someone's accuracy, it just doesn't match up to spines.

haha wel seriphos i dnt know about u but i sence a nerf coming on but really? i had no idea they didnt even compete
cumon there not that over powerd are they

Errm would be better getting aidself for a SR too instead of devouring greens, imo

They really, really are overdue a nerf. Yes, they're a crapload more powerful than the other sets, since for PVE they have MASSIVE AoE potential, and AoE is king in PVE. Then for PVP they have a ranged immob. A spines/regen is one of the only sets I know that can take the sets it's actually weak to (things like cold corrupters for the -regen) and trash them.

DM certainly can't do that to a DA. I've never seen a katana rip through an invuln tank without difficulty. A claws/invuln versus ranged energy damage isn't going to have an easy time. But spines/ is powerful enough to hurt anything, ESPECIALLY when coupled with /regen or /sr.

Also: Spines/DA can, in the space of 8 seconds, do more damage than a fully slotted inferno. Even though spines hits only 10 targets, the overall damage done is superior.

And that doesn't drain your endurance bar, nor leave you vulnerable.

I find the amount of -recharge a spines scrapper can create quite astonishing personally, it just seems to lower dps a bit too far.
