This is why we asked people to sign up to our forums, we've had six pages of debate about what we are doing. For the sake of clarity, we have a sign up thread on our forums that we can edit and ensure everyone can see everything at a glance, periodically either myself of Khorrighan will post up the Gumballs list.
Just to pick up on 2 points:
1. If you are worried about email havesting, put a dummy email in.
2. Myself and Khorrighan are spokespersons on this forum.

then again... this debate couldve been circumvented by allowing signups here in the first place
or just do what has been done with hami raid, 3vP etc: 1 thread to post the precise rules and where discussion/questions is/are possible (after all, its a community event) and 1 limited to signups.

This is so hilarious. And i think ppl are just plain lazy. Sign in, do the event and delete the account. Even if you havent had to do anything like that before, why is it so hard to try?. Seems like ppl just grabbing into the first thing they can, and start [censored]. Moxies have spent alot time organizing and designing this event and i have been thinking of giving my hami-o to the winner. But now, why would i?
And the whole martyr-attitude, please grow up. If you want to resign from the mox forums, please, be my quest but dont waste anybodys time by start singing about it.
And thats my 2 pennies.
Seems to me that as you have spent so much time and effort organising this event you could be more open to the opinion that not that many people want to sign up to your board.
It also seems to me that this entire argument would have been avoided if you had listened to other peoples opinions too.
This is just my own opinion on the matter after reading this thread of course so please feel free to disregard it as you have everyone elses.

People rasied concerns in a polite manner(there was nothing rude in any of my first two posts or any of the others I saw until the sarcasm from the event organisers began) and questioned why it couldn't be signed up to on here like every other community event has been.
Instead of having those questions answered in the same manner they were raised, we got sarcasm and back biting.
As for giving E-mail addresses out? Anyone who does not understand hacked forums are one of the biggest sources of E-mail addresses for spam and 'phishing' really shouldn't comment on it.
People pointed out the sing up method would discourage casual players and got abuse for it.

Looks like a fun event, I'll be practicing in the Hollows and will try to be there, for I think it can be loads of fun.
On the other hand, you're inviting people to sign up for something for which you can't see the rules directly and don't know when it is, only thing you see is a map. (why is the checkered flag at the start and not the finish?) And I don't really like signing up for yet another board.
I think this thread deserves a restart in which more info is given and maybe another way to sign up and a definate date. When I know that I'll buz it around to my friends in CoH and try to get them to join. (I'm always bragging how fast I get to the mission door and am always the first, so I really can't not participate )
And in the new thread, please let's discuss tactics and what the race is gona be about and who thinks he's the fastest and not all these sidethings, that really don't bring anything good. I really hate it when a thread goes on and on with people simply stating the things they said previously over and over.
Thank you. Wise words there and you are right. It's just that many times hostility will be responded with hostility and ppl dont always undestand what really was the "tone" of the post that someone else wroted.
Good thing to we all havent totally alienated ppl who are actually interested of doing something like this. Hope that bridger will lock this tread and we can start over.
Meanwhile, us moxies will try to get a date together and find a way to manage the event, even if it wasnt on our forums.
Sorry if i offended someone earlier, was really really tired and bored with all the fighting.
I just think that ppl should really think when they are writing their posts, "can this be taken the wrong way?" And maybe we could avoid conflicts.
Good whomever pointed out that organizing a event requires more patiense, didnt know how much, now i have a idea.

And another thing, remember that there are a lot non-native English speakers here. If your main source of knowledge of a language are movies and MTV, you can be just plain rude and not even know it yourself. My brother went to the States and he thought he knew Englsih, was he in for a surprise. Words like hell the F-word and God were so much stronger then what he thought at first.
There are ways of doing things and from what this thread shows is that asking people to sign upto a forum (so they can then sign upto an event), no matter how innocent it is, generally creates alot of suspicion and unwillingness to sign up.
Threads asking for people to sign up on these forums to an event is easier (so long as the date, any rules and meeting location are included). Even if people sign up to these forums to join, they are more likely to post again here than on the MoX forums. Past event threads usually have a few new posters, I had my first post in a Hamidon Raid thread. If you want the information from here in your forums, cut and paste it.
Also Bridger can create a news item on the main page and link it to the signup thread.

We are sorting things so they will work for most ppl, so a bit of patience and we will post the info in the offial forums.
