What happened to the zones?
Sad;y the zones on defiant have been infected with a new breed of n00b, thats not to say all people in there are, just that one cretin can overshadow 100 good people with ease.
I logged in with my stalker who I hadnt touched for a long time and was smacking about some people I knew when I got a tell saying i was a killstealing n00b. This was all the more amusing down to the fact that I took 100% of the persons health and wasnt using AS. It turns out the person concerned is the defiant miscreant, we all know him and most ahve petitioned him and have him on ignore for his constant /AC spamming and his constant desire for attention (bad as he cant get good as he sucks plain and simple) The only good thing about this moron being in the zones is that we can kill him repeatedly and laugh at his ineptitude and the fact that he must be frustrated that his abusive tells are not reaching people due to /ignore
Its sad to see such a degredation of the zones in such a short period of time as they were fun and friendly places. Still there is more pvp on union so its a good thing i ran out of slots on defiant.
**Acceptable "support" responses**
Its your fault
Its your computers fault
Its your ISPs fault
I believe you are 'kicking jacksie big time' and as a result of this skill you must put up with 'whining gets'.
edit: I have a pvp capabale tank on union now so I can find out if it's the place to be - so far the worst 'abuse' I get is someone going '...' when I leaped heedlessly into a fray between a brute fighting about 6 Shivans and started hitting him... ahh... shamelessly annoying him, but he was ugly, in my defence.

Unfortunately I have seen the same, simply stupid and juvenile behaviour. After spending just a little bit of time in sirens, I learned where all the bad banter stalkers claimed to receive comes from. Let me say my sympathies are all on the stalker side..
Getting petitioned for interrupting duels is just.. Urgh.
I would ask you to PM me this persons name, but that would propably turn out as griefing..
And by the way, there is no set of rules. We can do everything the devs have given us access to in the PvP zones, except grief one person continually. People doing duels arent entitled to do them in pvp zones. Inspirations are there to be used, and so on.
Most of the complaining seems to come from a bunch of juvenile players who simply wont accept the fact that they lose. (and might need to lvl their character a bit more). Thats my view. Unfortunately, other new players seem to get this 'disease' as well.
Right on Night.
Nothing wrong with new players trying PvP, I encourage and I'm more than willing to chat with them and offer the odd bit of advice etc... But I really hate this no Inspiration rubbish, if it wasn't for BF's all we'd ever see in PvP would be Dom's and Cont's for christs sake.
'I prefer to to fight with just my powers'. Well, that's all grand, but you can't say that and complain when I two shot you on my Blaster.
A Dominator needs Domination up to be 'uber', granted. But they can still stack enough Immobs quickly to stop a Scrapper in there tracks, which'll also give them a heft Dom boost. And it's two Holds w/Domination to go over a BF, so it's not like getting round that is hard if you keep moving.
But you know the thing I hate most?
People that sit in the safe zone, not fighting, and just wait for things like Elude to come up then jump out. But of course, if you start doing damage, or they get debuffed *BAM*. Back in the safe zone. Well, that or they pop at least 5 respites when I throw an attack chain in to them that would floor any scrapper without heals, run to the safe zone and claim that they never use insps and proceed to call me a liar.
I think the OP is missing the point here.
Trollers/doms holding people is unskilled
Stalkers AS'ing people is unskilled
Rad's debuffing people is unskilled
The only exception to this rule? When it's me doing it to someone else. Then it's the greatest display of PvP brilliance around
While this may sound funny, it's basically how it is. When you're on the giving end it's great and you feel like you really are a brilliant player. However, when the tables are turned, peoples perceptions flip and the tactics they may have used against others suddenly become 'unskilled and unfair'.
As for Defiant being bad, it isn't just there as we have our share of it on Union as well. A recent example has been someone who was on my friend list until I saw his never ending attacks on certain Defiant players who now PvP on Union over arena chat.
His reason for these attacks? Because they had the cheek to play spine/regen. Now, I have my own views on spine/regen and wouldn't play one but this guy was basically saying that these players would never beat him if they weren't spine/regen. This is funny in itself as these are players i've seen destroy other players with a variety of builds but what really made it funny is that the person in question was a stalker, one of the biggest FOTM AT's out there!
Personally, there are certain tactics in PvP that I do think are cheap, drone and mob TP'ing for example. Trollers holding or stalkers AS'ing are not amongst those. Telling those AT's not to do that is like telling tanks to turn off their toggles or MM's to stop using pets.

This is one case where Ill agree, drone teleporting is bad. I don't mind if Im teleported to mines, caltrops, tar patch or whatever player-based. Even teleport in midst of other players for ganking. But not drones.
I think all except Elite bosses and AV's should be removed from zones completely.
I find nothing more frustrating in RV, than going to target a villain/hero, and spending 5 mins wearing out my tab key.
If not removed, then at least cut the numbers down significantly.
This will help with events and lag issues too.

I think MM's suffer the worst from overcrowded PVP zones since our pets just stop responding to any commands so have we not suffered enough?

ban MM's from pvp ...sorted
It's annoying, and it's a trend that's been on the up lately. But it's not everyone. I think a lot of people get annoyed that the dynamics of PvP are so different to fighting the non-existent PvE AI, and rather than adapting, they complain themselves silly. Use insps, hit AFK people, wallop duellers. It's a PvP zone, and if they're not prepared to fight they shouldn't be there.

disagree, it dont take much to not go after someone if they are there for other reasons; if u do go after em, with them saying something like "only here for badges wont be too long, plz avoid hitting" and then you go and hit em, bang dead.....thats just sad, pathetic and show no moral's etc....
dont take much to be polite does it, cept they're aint many that r, cuz they all think like you..
Don't get me wrong, I won't purposefully go after someone just because they are badge hunting, or duelling, or what have you - but frankly they're being fairly inconsiderate in expecting us to change the normal zone dynamics to suit them. I am NOT going to start asking everyone in a PvP zone whether they are interested in fighting. If they're there, and they haven't said otherwise, they're fair game.

Another thing that annoys me. People who go to PvP zones to do missions, and then complain if people kill them! By doing missions they affect the PvP in the zone, so they're valid targets.

Not only does it quite clearly state it in the mission text that it will buff/debuff a side, but the confirmation click actually mentions that you WILL come in to contact with PvP.

I also take a bit of a sick satisfaction in attacking people doing missions. They're not there to experience the content but for the greed of the extra XP PvP missions offer.
Also, knowing the 'risk V reward' ethos, that's exactly why they're higher XP so they're fair game IMO.
PvP aggro is what they risk by taking the easy XP in those missions

Ive been to the zones on defiant the last few nights, and every thing is all changed.
I cant spend one minute without
1) being accused of being a cheater because I use break frees, or other insp. I dont exit the zones to buy more insp, and usually use the ones I allready have. Im a bit lazy, when it comes to preparation.
2) having an overpowered set (even on my rad corruptor)
3) being petition for attacking someone doing a duel or what ever was going on. People who want to duel could go to the arena and noone will interfere, but somehow thats not the right place. It seems only the zones work for duels.
4) Yes, I kill people who are afk in the zones. I have no problems with it, people can easily leave the zones or go to the base if they wanna go afk. Ive had tons of broadcast telling me this is wrong.
5) Holding people is also wrong, since bf's apperently arent allowed. I get called untallented when I hold people.
This is every single fight I enter with very, very few exeptions. I admit, its been a while since I last visited went to the zones on defiant, but it wasnt this bad earlier was it?
Who makes all these rules about behavior in the PvP zones, and is there anyway to get a say in those? If there is a certain set of rules everyone follows, could I please get a copy?
