Because he was a Dom or because the scrapper fled?

Ok, I'm someone who goes in to the PVP zones both for badges and sometimes for PVP, but that doesn't mean I expect free immunity just because I'm not out picking a fight. Even in Warburg where I risk being attacked by a fellow Villain I accept that this may indeed happen as I leave/enter the villain base. You are given fair warning both entering and during your time there so you should be willing to accept that you are fair game.

Often I'll only attack a badge hunter once, after that its a case of only attacking if they are bounty or start getting in the way. Theres no fun fighting someone who wont fight back (unless they start [censored] like crazy and swearing at me )

I also take a bit of a sick satisfaction in attacking people doing missions. They're not there to experience the content but for the greed of the extra XP PvP missions offer.

Also, knowing the 'risk V reward' ethos, that's exactly why they're higher XP so they're fair game IMO.

PvP aggro is what they risk by taking the easy XP in those missions

[/ QUOTE ]

The missions are fairly easy to get to in the 25 seconds you've got when entering the zone and just as easy to get back to 'base' when leaving the mission. It's quite funny sometimes seeing peeps pointlessly trying to bash the living daylights out of you.

Well if they start getting really thick about it then I wholeheartedly support attacking them, get them to go away and find something else to do while they grow up a little...

The only attack anyone risks in Warburg is a panic one on realizing you're totally alone on the whole island

QFT

Though today on Union I had a nice little pvp fight. Corruptor started, I finished, no banter, no insults, no OMFGOSHWTF you're using inspirations!!11 - just a quick skirmish. Even a passing scrapper left it be after realising I had the upper hand and went back to his own business.

Pfft, like it was any news that u suck, NB .
About the topic.. well what is happening to u is hat i've always found in the zones sinces they were released . Maybe i was plain unlucky or u were really lucky not to have seen things like that till lately

I'm not the slightest bit surprised PvP zones are like this. It's no different to the morons in Counter Strike. Doesn't matter where you go, if there's PvP, then you'll get 1 or 2 total morons out of a hundred good players who'll stop at nothing to ruin other peoples fun.

Personally, I don't PvP. I've tried it about 10 times, and had 8 bad experiences. I dislike the attitude prevalent in a few players in those zones, and I dislike the smacktalk. When I've deathmatched in things like Quake etc, smacktalk is almost non-existant! Maybe it's because I play with people I know...

Anyway, the worst part of it all is being TP'd into PvE mobs with low health, just to give you debt (This happened to me only a few days ago so don't say it doesn't happen). Fair fights are fine, even interrupting an existing fight is within the rules (though REALLY rude IMO), but doing it in a way that causes debt is just low.

I've said it before and I say it again, PvP has made this game less fun.

Well that is a personal opinion. Loads of others will say that they only stay in the game cos of PvP.
Personally I don't think PvP has made the game less fun. First you are not forced to PvP, nor in the zones neither in Arena. U can completelly avoid PvP if you want... but i agree with u that debt in pvp should be abolished. That is the main reason IMHO why PvP zones haven't succeeded, but remember that arena is also PvP

For you maybe, but for me its made this game a hell of a lot more fun, and is what is keeping me in this game. Through PvP i've met a share of [censored], but i've also met some great people aswell. The tp into PvE mobs is a rare thing to come across.

There are bad people in PvP just as there are bad people in PvE. Things are not that black and white. Important thing is to try keep an open mind.. And try to find and befriend the good people. I have been happy to find that some of the PvP people I thought elitist and hostile are not so, and instead are quite ok people.

Im not on this game ONLY for PvP, but it has become and important part of my game experience.

Couldnt agree more. A few weeks back my dom got invited to a PVE team lead by a stalker. A CoT mish where we were struggling quite a bit. At one point, A large room in the sewers crawling with CoT I tried to slow everyone down and explain we have to pull or suffer a team wipe. No one volunteered to pull so that left me the designated puller by default (no probs). I asked people to get out of the mobs sight to reduce the chances of a bad pull. The stalker complains that this is taking to long, AS's a CoT, dies, then speaks about it as if he achieved something. All the mobs flood towards us and almost everyone dies. I get told over team chat that I'm worthless pathetic person and a useless player, then I get kicked.
The interesting part is then I see the same guy in sirens call over the next few days. He treats everyone the same, villians are loosing cos "you are all useless COV players" and "if I knew where you lived I'd come round with a baseball bat and murder your family" (I think he got a petition for that one). Now he's spreading lies that I dont pull my weight in a team, thankfully he's gaining a reputation as a muppet and no one pays any attention to his opinion anyway. Hmm. Anyway, I think think I'm trying to say you can meet the same morons in the pve zones.

ps. as far as I know the stalker doesnt post here before anyone goes "Oh i know who that guy is, he posts as......".

Of course it's a personal opinion. It was given by me so could only BE my own opinion...

PvP could be good if it wasn't for one major problem, other people. It take one dipstick in a crowd of 100 nice people to ruin the experience for a new PvPver. Problem is, this is the internet talking about... There is a far higher ratio of idiots to nice people than the 1:100 I gave...

And yes, the PvP side may be avoidable, but all too often, the smacktalk/trashtalk isn't. It spreads out of those zones and causes people to have to shut off various channels. Been months now since I bothered with Arena chat, and I rarely have Broadcast on.

Christ, there was something in Warburg the other day that made me LOL; my Villain and her VG were in there for an IC contract - four of us at the time - and on our way to The Web, I turned to see our Brute getting attacked by a Stalker.

Naturally, the team dove in to help her. Another Stalker popped out, and both were promptly flattened.

What happened next....well, let's just say when someone spams "cowards and idiots" over Broadcast - completely ignoring the fact they attacked first - then goes on to make it sound as if we're some group of sixteen-strong gankers....heh.

Just found it amusing.

Yeah, you get that. I was in Sirens the other night, I logged on to Teamspeak and got the call that we were needed there so my SG actually decided to pop in, see what the fuss was.

There were a good 7-15 Villains right outside the freaking Hero base TP'ing people out one-by-one for a ganking.

Naturally we buffed up, all rushed out and wiped them, pushing them back to the water. Then we got told we were no skill gankers that need to get a life.

Awesome, really.

I thought that was the way to go in sirens tho lol. It's really strange seeing similar numbers. Sometimes heros camp in front of the villains base, and some other times it's villains who camp and tp out heroes... but even numbers, it's rare

I on many occasions have sat in the water near the oil rig platform thingies with a team and dropped villains coming straight at us.

Of course, considering they can quite easily go round the side (or Fly High if they've Fly), it's quite a bit different compared to TP'ing people out the Hero Hospital.
