Dammit, does he never stay down? (Hamidon again)

Raid was called off. Stupid PA changes meant we couldn't actually get anyone into the bubble.

If I decide I can be bothered to do another one, I'll post the date in the future.

here's a thought for the hamidon raid, with the new PA rules.

what if the PA drop team dropped the PAs into the hamidon, then absolutely everyone piles into the hamidon but DOESN'T attack. the hamidon tank, taunts the hamidon itself.
in the event, a fair few deaths will occur, but, the controllers would be able to get close enough to the PAs to draw the aggro of the mitos. the old "safety in numbers" thing.
and then honsou and Mesmer do the usual targetting thing.

Shame about that raid but dont give up xan just needs a rethink on how we go about it, im sure someone in the usa will come up with away to take him down soon, even better if we came up with it first

Safety in numbers is a bad idea against massed unresistable AoE's...

Thanks for attempting in the first place, I feel sorry for the whole community for some change or bug like this to destroy everything. It cant really be working as intended?

[/ QUOTE ]Well, the tactic we use is not how the devs intended the raid to work, AFAIK that strategy hasn't been figured out yet.

Seconded. For something that takes so much organisation to be narfed up by a couple of changes and what is hopefully a bug, must be quite the annoyance!

So? what you're saying is that the dev's wants us to find and use 1 specific tactic to do this specific task? And if we find another way of doing it; they will just keep changing the rules until we play the game as they intend??

...and yeah...I'm aware of the silver bullet theory and all the other silly theories.

Well when are you going to figure it out, then? You'd think that the US players would have figured it out already..

woot, that was fun :P nothing worked meh it was comedy and i got some great screenies... although a hami-0 would have been nice

the only way i can see of doing it is a buff/debuff method

Step 1: Lots of defenders and controllers running dispersion bubbles to stop Hamis AOE hitting as much

Step 2:Lots of people running Maneuvers to stop the Mitos hitting

Step 3: Healing spam for hits that get through

Step 4: Lots and lots of debuffs on Hami (darkest Night, EF, Lingering rad, Rad inferction, sonics etc)

Step 5:Buff with SBs, AMs, ABs Fortsetc

Step 6: everyone inside protective shell of bubbles/heals blows the [censored] out of Hami

Feel free to pick holes in plan, it is only an idea after all

Defensive powers won't do anything unfortunately, due to the damage being untyped.

In the hopes of giving people something to mull over, here's my summary of what was tried last night:
1. The PA droppers spread out evenly over the jelly and dropped PA. The decoys tended to appear in the same place each time they were dropped and ended up clustered together in 2 large clumps and a few smaller ones. The Tank team tried to get into position after a while and died quickly as the PA weren't taking aggro.

2. The PA teams then added empaths/kins/darks and tried a ground insertion. This wasn't a well co-ordinated attempt so only half went in. Those that went in died pretty quickly.

3. The PA teams (with added healers/buffers) group flew over Hami and dropped PA to try and grab some aggro. The group flyers then turned off group fly and dropped the PA droppers plus healers/buffers into the jelly in the hope of forming a healing turtle. Within about 30 to 45 seconds we were all dead.

Those were the tactics used. If anyone wants to add more detail to what we did so we can figure out how improvements can be made then add them here.

[/ QUOTE ]The thing is, as soon as somebody finds a tactic that works, people tend to stop experimenting and use that one. AFAIK the US have been through multiple different tactics, since each one they've used has been made unusable by 'adjustments' at some point.

This was posted in relation to the fact that a load of ice corrupters took the Recluse SF down and their fears of an impending nerfage.

A few US SGs still do their own thing and can clear Hami solo (by solo I mean sg members not solo by themselves ) End drain is one of the tactics they employ and this was before the % end drain buff of i7

The decoys are unresponsive when summoned at range so when they're dropped into the jelly all they do is stand there and not attack. This means that they don't attract all that much aggro which in turn makes setting up the tank team and mito clearers very difficult.

Does untyped damage prevent positional defense working?

No, but Hamidon being pretty much autohit does.

Posted

but the stacked defence should be enough to floor the mitos accuracy enough for the heals to work and let the debuffers drop debuffs on Hami reducing his damage and chance to hit?

Posted

I very very very much doubt it. I have personally charged at hamidon before with 20 lucks, and just dropped dead. Im 99% sure he is just autohit.
