heheh, dynamic ddrawing is not my forté.. straight on people are easy, 3/4 angle people are slightly mroe taxing.... poses that look properly comic-y and dynamic... practically impossible for my megre skill.

there has been the odd time i've been in a team sans a tanker, and while DP/IH-d i was pretty much able to tank and deal out a hefty amount of damage without my HP going below about 60%

well yeah, tactics are needed, or else there shall be mroe faceplanting than you wish.
but my tactics are desperation measures
oftan teams i'm in will just stand around going "Ready!" *thumbs up* for ages, and someone has to make the first move, so i DP/IH up and run in, and that spurs the team into action.

but i always say, keep the damage deal-out high, and the HP of yourself high, and if you're killing things quick enough, debt quickly becomes a mere stumble.
and with self rez you don't even have to pause in combat when you faceplant

but yeah, i agree, against more difficult mobs, such a rogue attitude doesn't help at all.

here's a thought for the hamidon raid, with the new PA rules.

what if the PA drop team dropped the PAs into the hamidon, then absolutely everyone piles into the hamidon but DOESN'T attack. the hamidon tank, taunts the hamidon itself.
in the event, a fair few deaths will occur, but, the controllers would be able to get close enough to the PAs to draw the aggro of the mitos. the old "safety in numbers" thing.
and then honsou and Mesmer do the usual targetting thing.

well... you say you fear you won't use it...
you're not a real scrapper.
the ethos of the scrapper is to be an absolute nutter and charge headlong into any combat, no-matter what the odds... it's what makes them so fun.
and if you use DP/IH before you run into those seemingly impossible battles, you'll most likely triumph.

i remember a time blah blah nostalgic story get out of my office

heh, no i was in a team fighting freaks, on invincible, and the entire team faceplanted against this big gang of freak tanks so i calmly activated DP/IH and proceeded (ignoring cries of "freakin' run for it stoic you nutter!") to take down 4 of the 5 tanks before sounding the retreat (read: activating MoG and wailing on the last one)
when the rest of the team got back from the hospital there i was amongst the bloody and bruised remains of my victims, enjoying a quiet cigarette and a moment of contemplation.
