Actually has anyone checked that the Arena has no new bugs introduced with i7? It's one of the forgotten corners of the game and it'd be nice to know about any surprises pending...

[/ QUOTE ]

This a joke yes? Arena without bugs?

[/ QUOTE ]

As highlighted. I'm worried about new and interesting bugs. Don't care about the old uns. I'd just be concerned about i7 ruining the summer event on us with some undiscovered weirdness.

Tonight as far as I was aware.

7:30pm, tonight.
Its all falling apart at the seams, and with i7 fresh out, we can expect extra bugs. 3vP is doomed to fall apart, but a few of us knew this would happen. Tourneys of such size need more people to organise and keep them together, and they -need- to fall apart at least once, so the holes in the rules can be found

I don't know about doomed to fall apart, but certainly issue 2 of 3vP will be vastly refined (more organisers, better organisation, better rules regarding subs etc). There's still some fun PvP to be had in the competition, so if you can make it, please do so - don't just write it off.

I'll be there, looking forward to it.

And I'm bringing a newly specced in pet Tornado, Windy, too.

*Edit : Dang. Just realised. This means I'm respeccing to suit PvP after saying I never would. Drat.

And "windy" is a terrible name for a pet. Must do better.

Is that so? Or maybe its the fact the poor organisers are overworked, and that loads of people just dont turn up? Its called being realistic, and even if my view isnt accurate, given the amount of non-attendants it might have been worth a re-think of the way it worked. Whilst the second 3vP tourney would indeed be better, with the amount of people who dont turn up, it might be better to temporarily tweak the rules, to make things easier. Tweak them how? I dont know. Alter the size of teams? Merge teams that have spaces?

When I said they need to fall apart at least once, that means that the rule-makers and organisers often have their first attempts go a bit dodgey. Its a learning thing, there are too many people to accomodate on prediction alone, now that they know of the scale of problems that might crop up, next time they might have a seperate pool of subs ready and waiting, or get some friends to help them organise it and keep track of the teams and so forth.

My pessimism never caused anything to fail.
I dont appreciate the backhanded tone you're using.

lol sorry but i think my tone was very polite considering ur post, "3VP is doomed to fall apart" u said, xanthus and cap morgan have given up a lot of their time for this and i think they deserve a pint for it, i think things are going well so far, letting ppl reshedule around a match is good organisation so cut them some slack

Polite considering my post? What? Does it offend you that I came to conclusion based on the number of absents?

You seem to be under the misconception that I think they arent doing a good job. I have never once said they werent doing a good job, and even commended them for sticking to it when they (constantly) get massively overwhelmed and the teams insist on making them spend a good hour juggling. :P

1, "but a few of us knew this would happen" u thought it wud fail long b4 it started and has nothin to do with ppl not attending

2, ok i seem to have misinterpreted ur post then and if that is so i apologise, i just think events like this that are organised by ppl who dont get paid and get nothing for it deserve a lot of credit from ppl

1) I didnt think it would fail initially, I thought it would have difficulties. Even the official S4 tourney had a good deal of drop-outs, including my team. Arena events are built upon the combatants will to compete. Its kinda like trying to hold a war, but nobody turns up, heh. In my eyes, there is a kind of avalanche effect. When a few people leave, more will follow. Naturally there is a core of players here that will turn up every time (providing RL doesnt interfere), but when people sign up, then lose interest and dont bother to really say anything, it has a knock-on effect, y'know? Im just getting a bit disheartened as less and less people seem to be turning up.

2) No worries I guess. I do get where you're coming from, because its not too unusual for people to put a lot of work into something, but go completely unthanked. As far as Xanthus and Morgan go, im sure i've heard people asking for their babies...

Obviously this didnt fail although there were lot of subs needed. Good fighting all!

Probably both. At the same time.

and coming onto the forums 2 before the 3rd round and saying 'its doomed' really helps that fall out factor.

Pessimism never made anything fail? nope, if enough people read 'doooom' and believe it, it will fail because of that negative pessimistic attitude.

I knew defiant was "different" Well, I'll post the results/draw in a short while, once I've had a brew and woken up.

Was I the first person to go out?!?

W00t, yes, I am Teh SuXX00r!!

Worst. PvP Player. Ever!

Was fun, in a sick, masochistic way, almost like being whipped to death with scented bootlaces

Well, I'll turn up for the next few weeks in a Cameraman Coin kind of way, I think. Prefer being on that side of the action really

We built this city on Rock and Roll!

Aww never mind Coin, you went into it saying you weren't much cop at pvp but still took part - that's a fab attitude to have

To be honest Coin it was mostly down to Elerith and the fact you guys had no healer / buffer with you.

At the start I nearly v quickly faceplanted from your first strike until Elerith caught up with me and save my [censored]. After that they just buffed and buffed & healed.

No wonder the guy has "Also known as God Mode" in their Character description...
