the best story i have is, im in warburg for the first time with my scrapper katana/dark armor with my cloak on. i was near the villian base were i like to pester stalkers till they can figure out i can see them. this one stalker got brave and decided ( i still don't no how stalkers see cloak is it in ther hide like cloak of darkness?) to AS me i simply turned on my Soper speed when i saw his build up and ran a circle around him . most people seeing this run as they relise i can see them,. i spent 20 minutes doin the sam ething untill i finally killed him. I thin stalker forget that some scrappers , and i think ice tanks can actually see them and that they are not as hidden as they think, that and we scrappers have more hit points, soo trying to take us on one on one isn't the smartest.

nope, i mean all. ive even had a stalker test this by checking what ranges i could detect hidden villains at. normally when battling its in a small area, the tanks and scrappers are going at it with brutes and whatever, then i see a stalker or 2 SJ in and start to move into position, so i hit fireball and web grenade, the stalker loses their hide and is now stuck, cue a very quick death, or if theyre unlucky enuf, SJing away only to be brought down by the web grenade in a mob, seen it happen unfortunately and wasnt able to kill the mob or the villain fast enuf to avoid them debt.
I was for some reason fooling around in bloody bay(why a 32 would hang around bloody bay is beyond me)
and was having a "conversation"(more like just saying rando m things) with a blaster, it was really funny because he was always hitting his AoE attacks then saying "whoops" luckily I was out of range of those attacks.
It was still funny though.

Now I wouldnt call the fact that you were versus a number of lowish lvl experimental builds while popping copious amounts of inspirations dominating, or for that matter a funny story (guess its all a matter of personal humour), its a feat any can pull off with lvl 50 trays. Doing the same while relying on pure skill and empty trays could possibly raise a smile though.
Oh and I personally killed the two of you far more times than you killed me

Maths says otherwise :P I died twice and both times I had just finished off elerith, now think back to the times you and elerith died from an impale. And if you want to play numbers Stalk died a grand total of 0 times last night in warburg (Vs freon that is, Dark Figment did manage to tag me) while finishing you off 7+ times

As I said, it must be a personal humour thing as I dont find such an event funny or deserving of bragging rights, the amount of times my stalker (and a specific hero duo) has wiped similar hero (villain) numbers solo is numerous but its not because Im a good pvper, simply the dynamics were not in place to bring me (us) down. I always stop, chat and discus with opponents the best way to bring down my alts as this is part of the game for me, perhaps I am perceiving things the wrong way but I just dont get the "I pwned j00" or the "I must win no matter what" mentality that can be prevailant in the pvp zones. PVP is a game to be savouored and enjoyed with your friends imo

I used maybe two, maybe three BF's. I'm Empathy/, I don't exactly need Respites.
And for the record Stalk-obot, I don't think staying just out of range and using Throw Spines/Impale almost exclusively 'fun'.
And for us, the fun is the challenge of standing toe-to-toe with a larger force. We PvP for a reason, we enjoy it, we enjoy getting the best from our builds and our toons. If we get crushed by better players or numbers, or because we're being silly, we take it in our stride. It's all good!
My funniest PvP story? Probably the two separate occasions I went AFK in Bloody Bay (hey, that rhymes!) and came back to find myself perfectly healthy.
Okay, granted the second time I was in the middle of the Villain base, but the first time I did it I was out in the middle of the map with a Toxic Gas Missile turret aiming at me. Slightly out of range, fortunately.

For the record I dont see buff buff buff followed by a blapper doing BU/Aim/Bonesmasher almost exclusively as fun either, omg yeah sometimes he throws another power but the start is always the same so I think you can lay off my tactics as you clearly dont know them, perhaps you would glean a better insight into my play by going in the pvp zones solo (clearly not on your emp) or you are more than welcome to tag along on the villains side. I guess "fun" is as subjective as is what can be perceived as bragging.
As for BFs, the amount of holds I saw thrown at you, over periods of time, and didnt take leads me to suspect you are not entirely accurate in your recollection especially given that you dont have acrobatics in your build. 3xBF gives you 270 seconds of protection and holds were throw at you almost continuously over a much larger period of time.
I was perhaps curt in my response to your "funny" story as I felt dominate was the wrong word as it wasnt applicable from my perspective, it wasnt funny (imo) and the outcome was never in doubt with those builds. Couple of defenders or controllers doing the same, sure it would be funny then, but a lvl 50 empath and a /em blapper? zzzz, cookie cutter is certainly an applicable term.
Maybe Im wrong, its certainly possible, and everyone had a huge laugh, perhaps I should regale everyone with tales of how I "pwned" blasters/defenders/controllers/scrappers in sirens but then I dont like to do that, either in the zones or on the boards as it could be perceived as bragging and possibly demoralise people. This is why after killing someone a few times that i dont recognise I stop and take time out of my day to chat, discuss and offer any advice Vs my build that I can.
But anyway i digress, I merely took excpetion to your terminology and how you considered it fun which is now apparantly defined as taking on larger groups, Hmm I guess I could take myself and another lvl 50 to bloody bay and issue a challange for hoardes of unslotted, DOd up lvl 15s to take us down but I just dont see that as fun, takes all sorts I guess Personally I derive my fun from having a laugh with all players, being friendly, helping people and I am one of the very few players who will swap sides to help out the underdog side, help equalise and try to get some fun pvp going. Oh and in case you didnt know I consider "fun" pvp to be equalish teams, all getting kills and jokes and light hearted banter going across broadcast. You know, that way everyone has fun.
Hmm this isnt a very "funny" pvp story either IMO so I do apologise for posting it here

Except that we enjoy team PvP more. I used to PvP a lot solo on my stalker, but I found it slow and boring (I'm not saying it is, mind, it just wasn't enjoyable for me). Unfortunately our SG rarely plays villains so we don't actually have anyone around the right level for sirens.

Not exactly, but any PvP is fun. We never said that we made a point to always be outnumbered, we said that we enjoy anything whether it be even teams or insanely stacked odds against us. The only time it really gets boring is when the zone has one or two stalkers in it who don't seem to actually be doing anything.

Well, we would switch sides but, as I said earlier, none of us have villains that could PvP. The way you say this stuff makes it sound like we don't help people, that we just come into the PvP zones and get all "OMG N00B, PWNED LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!" which just isn't true. We enjoy even PvP as much as everybody in the zone. It's just a shame that the zone isn't evenly balanced very often (the other night in warburg, towards the start, seemed pretty balanced, for example).
One more thing, why did you not just switch onto your PvP toons if they were doing so well against your "experimental" builds?
I've had good fun the past few days in Sirens doing some PvP with my spines/inv scrapper Splortch in between doing the missions. The funniest thing I've had happen to me so far is being terrorised (can't remember by what AT it was) and then having to wait to be attacked before superspeeding a couple of hundred yards away, jumping behind a hedge and then spending the next 20 seconds in the terrorised cower hoping that nobody saw which direction I went. I've had to do that a couple of times now - good fun

No problem with it at all but extremus was saying that my tactics wasnt fun so I replied in kind. As for aim and BU, I saw him charge both a number of times in Warburg yesterday, both smashing down others in the zone and trying to chase down my kinetic. Fortunatly my kinetic is speed personified

I agree with you, lvling my stalker is a painful process (due in part to his build) to such an extent that when I load him I always end up leaving him in a pvp zone. That said I dont really play him in pvp that often anymore, hes all killed to death On a side note if any of you want to get villains lvling then shoot me a tell, I am more than happy to assist and have a pretty good infrastructure for fast lvling.

I also hate the term and yet it is applicable, extremuss build is nothing out of the ordinary even for a pve empathy but that wasnt my point. Imaginary may have made his concept all on his own but no, he didnt write the current cookie cutter build as there is always someone ahead of the game and goes nuts over it, like getting to lvl 50 in 2 weeks after EU launch. I would consider such a statement arrogant if coming from the player himself to be honest, my Stalkers build is somewhat unique, at least considering the norm but I wouldnt say I was the only one or even that I came up with it first. I did however come up with it on my own. I do not however disagree that Freon has more than likely inspired huge numbers of similar builds due to his prominence and effectiveness.

Nope you certainly dont fill the airwaves with that kind of l33t crap and I have respect for your courteousness in this manner. However, and this is all conjecture on my part, I dont understand why you guys dont have great villain pvp characters that you could switch too, I understand personal preference in the game you play but for a pvp SG it would make sense to me to have these characters there, if for nothing else, than to test specific strategies and tactics against each other. As I am sure you are all well aware there isnt exactly a balanced cross section in the arena or zones. See, now I am making assumptions on your behalf which is wrong of me but I cant help but suspect that you have your great pvp strategies and builds set up to such an extent that they are now ingrained and you are reluctant to venture into the more unchartered waters of the COV builds. Its human nature to hate going from being au fait with something to essentially a beginner again.
[ QUOTE ]
One more thing, why did you not just switch onto your PvP toons if they were doing so well against your "experimental" builds?
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats not my place to say, suffice to say my self gimped stalker build is way past the experimental stage.
My replies in this matter may have been curt and less than courteous and for that I do apologise, its lucky that I was semi-coherent at that time of the morning but my initial point still stands, I just didnt feel that coming on the boards and saying it was funny to dominate sirens with the builds concerned was a particularly magnanimous thing to do especially from such an established pvp player, it wasnt like [censored] I went in sirens and totally unexpectedly, me and my mate managed to do this
. You guys are established and do that kind of thing all the time, I just didnt see why attention was being brought to it (and was factually incorrect as my stalker was one of the villains and was clearly not dominated)
To sum up, I admire you guys (some like Xanthus more than others) your builds, your teamwork and infrastructure, I just didnt see the initial statement as necessary, accurate or funny. As I have said, this could all be just my perception it was also 3am in the morning and may have latched onto something unnecessarily

I remember way back when, just a couple weeks after CoV launch, I was taking my nrg/nrg blaster for a stroll through Siren's, and came across a stalker and a scrapper who appeared to be duelling. It looked to me like the scrapper was about to lose, but polite as I am, I stood by watching, not wanting to interfere with a duel.
But as I stand there watching (in stealth by the way), another stalker appear and AS the scrapper but by some stroke of devine intervention the scrapper didn't die, so I decide to help out with the spare stalker. I hop in, power push the first stalker to give the scrapper some breathing room, then I go to work on the second stalker and have him down to around 1/4 hp before the first one comes back.
I power push him again, and finish off the second one, but no sooner is he dead before a third stalker appear and AS me. I'll admit luck was by my side here, because it wasn't a OHK, but I do end up with nearly full defiance. I turn to the newcomer and fill him full of harnessed plasma, three hits and he's dead. I'm JUST quick enough to yet again power push the first stalker before he can land the killing blow on me, and I commence the eradication procedure once more.
I have just finished him off from a distance when another stalker (if it was one of my earlier victims or a different stalker alltogether eludes my tired mind at the moment) come up behind me, I can see him, but I'm not quick enough this time, and I faceplant.
This is probably my most intense battle ever, in any game, even though the experience was cut a tad short by three angry stalkers on the broadcast channel.
was on my WS in warburg a few days ago happily jumpin around searchin for new victim. Lo and behold, a poor little MM all on his own, how sad... Course I attack the MM, what else? Shortly after a stalker arrives to save his dying MM buddy, how cute. A little fight starts and then, lucky me, backup arrives in the form of a scrapper (note, the scrapper WASNT on my team).
So the scrapper, which I now think of as rather naive, started helping me by attacking the stalker and MM (still not on my team). We fight.. and fight... and fight.. the stalker dies (yay!). After which our scrapper friend turns on the MM. Another little fight ensues.. he fights, fights, fights and even fights till the MM is dead and he is down to 10-15% hp.
After this he started to get into what seems a "i pwned you!!!" ritual. But hey... mr Scrapper, you are in warburg, you know its FFA dont you? Whether or not he knew it, I just whacked HIM over the head shortly after he got the kill on the MM *Cue angry tells*
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"
Total Cat @Stagefright
I can't recall at the moment any funny stories, but i'll say one that quite annoyed and amused me : A while back when i was hanging in sirens a lot, a fair lot of heroes knew my MM and her PFF , so i went into sirens as i usually did only to find out that heroes were quite overwhelmed by villains ( note here - i'm quite friendly to everyone - and i don't like attacking my friends if it's not a fair fight, unless they attack me ), but some of my hero friends knew this and they let me get close to them ( my tactic of making them attack me - you know...give me an excuse for joining the battle ), but what i didn't expect was to get completely isolated from the fight, nobody attacked me nor my henchies even though i sent them into every battle ( on passive mode ) hoping they'd get hit with an aoe ( i'm very fond of my ninjas and i react badly when they are damaged ). So after i spent about 30 to 45 minutes around the battles just chatting to my friends, i asked them why didn't they attack me, the reply came in the form of a tell and it both amused and annoyed me : Why would we...we can't get through your pff and there was no reason to add another villain to the battle if we could help it . Of course as soon as i got the reply i got annoyed and left to go do some pve
And btw, now i found a counter tactic for this situation : just dismiss a henchie and blame a hero for killing it
Jumped into SC one evening just for an hour or so of fun, and found just one other Hero, and about 8-9 villains. For about 20 minutes, the usual 5 on 1 ganking happened - usually consisting of me being mezzed, a brute coming in and wearing me down, and a stalker popping up behind me to steal the kill. I sat there, not particularly happy, but making an effort to bite my tongue, as nobody likes a whiner - be it hero or villain, and if you want fair pvp, that's what the arenas are for, right?
So anyhow, I popped a message out to my sg detailing the pwnage, and before long we had a tidy team of 5 - a blaster, scrapper, 2 trollers and a def. We stayed bunched in a group, with at least 2 tactics working, and were able to see pretty much everything coming for us - wave after wave of villains was smacked down
Eventually, the whining started - mostly from stalkers "Why don't you come and fight us? Why must you stay bunched up?" (I wonder if these were the same stalkers who told complaining heroes that they needed to develop tactics to deal with stalkers - such as teaming with tactics on?)
Eventually, they did the usual villain thing - run far away and congregate on their rock, glowering. After destroying every gun on the rock, a few of them started coming out to fight, but it was mainly the take a few hits and then flee when you don't get a kill back to the base style stuff. It was then that I hit on the idea of confusing the crabs that stand on the top of the base.
There is nothing quite like being in Siren's Call and watching an orange crab sprint after any villains that materialise, blasting red beams at them, and jumping into the bowels of the base to pursuse them. The amusement more than made up for the lack of bounty due to the pesky scared villains
Just a quick one, love it when people manage too see you as a Stalker, so they "TP Foe" you, you appear right next to them, only for you to AS them. Makes me laugh everytime
(It's only happened twice, and i've laughed on both occasions )
Today i was playin on my scrapper and it has TP foe, i was just entering the zone seing about 10 villains right by the hero base, i tpd most of em into drones.... cos i could. plus if they wanna be near our base thats what they get.
anywho
i was just clearing area of villains and i was teleported onto a ledge by a MM, he was laughing saying he beat me at my own game
i kicked his...
