Silly trash-talk in PvP.

This isn't a complaint, but more something that made me laugh.

I was in Siren's on my Ice/Dark, having a quick look around. There weren't many people, but there was a /regen Scrapper around. At one point, I saw him nearby, and threw Darkest Night on him to stop him from killing me. A series of tells started up in which he eventually said something along the lines of "well try to kill me, then."

My Ice/Dark has the worst endurance problems of any character I've played. I can kill regens, but only if there's someone to SB me, or I have a tray full of blues... and I had neither. Still, I had a go at him, and knocked a good chunk of his HP off before he healed himself. No way I could kill him, but with Darkest Night and Fearsome Stare, he couldn't kill me either. I eventually headed off, planning on leaving, which is when this fantastic conversation came about (paraphrased because I don't remember exactly):

Scrapper: see noob corruptors like you cant kill me.
Me: Looks like you can't kill me either, so what does that make you?
Scrapper: only becaue you use your fear

I pointed out that I only couldn't kill him because he was using his regen powers, and he stopped insulting me, so I'm hoping he might have got the point.

I guess at least he didn't accuse me of cheating for using Darkest Night, which has happened to me once... anyone else received any trash talk with logic so amazing it's made your head hurt?

Sadly yes. The one that springs to mind is someone calling me a cheater for using inspirations...possibly the dumbest thing I've heard in a PvP zone.

With dull pain running most stalkers take my regens health down to about 33% with an AS. As long as I'm not disorientated I use reconstruction to heal myself back up to about 80% a which point I get a broadcast saying "ure health insps are g4y ull run out of them soon tho!!111 then i'll pwn u!!!111"

Had the same. I beat a MA/regen with my blapper. He said "real PvPers dont use insps, fight me with no insps". I said"ok let me go get my controller" He said "err no "

Nice touch, the way I see it, insps are a part of the structure/game plan just as much as any power.

Your AT can't take the heat? Get off your high horse or fight with the cards you dealt your build with....

Sore losers suck.

Yes, I've come to the conclusion that some people in the PvP zones are plain dumb.

Some tank once joined in a duel I was in with his mate. I had asked his mate for a one on one. However, his friend decided to join in because I got my imps out....and he considered that a violation of the one on one!!!

Some people are so dumb, you can't even explain to them how dumb they are!

However, my fave are those that tell MM that they wouldn't win without their pets!!! These people should not be allowed to breed as we really need to stop the 'thick' gene from proliferating.

I've heard I was a cheater because I was level 50

... against 1 lvl 40 and 2 lvl 30ish villains.

Not exact recollection of the words, of course.
-------

PVP'er : "Archelon, you're nothing but a little n00b leech"
Me : *watching 3 stalkers repeatedly attack my PFF, occasionally placating then AS'ing unsuccessfully*
Me : "Is that so?"
PVP'er : "Yeah, you never do any damage, you just hang back and hold people"
Me : "Im a controller, what do you think im going to do? Headsplitter? Knockout Blow?"
PVP'er : "Dont play dumb, you have propel"

Yeah, propel with the containment modifier IS strong, but since when do Grav/FF controllers get a real chance of joining in, when the stalkers that are around recognise you as a controller, and a substantial threat? :P

Heh
"You would be useless in PVP if you didnt have your forcefield to stop my AS"
"OMG, dont use inspirations, n00b!"
"Turn hover off, and i'll win"

Or the famous brute thing that always annoys, where they attack you (when you're a squishy, and yes that means blasters too).. getting the ambush, but you manage to fight them down to the last sliver of their health in an honestly great fight.. then realising they stand a good chance of being KO'ed, they run away from you, struggling to get their travel power of choice to activate after suppression, and getting put down by a mob of NPCs. Naturally, the following broadcast is an insult towards you for supposedly being a reckless, inexperienced n00b, and forcing them, the noble, honorable PVP'er to get debt.

I wonder if villains ever get this with tanks?

seen the lvl thing b4, lvl 40 brute vs a 25 tank, while this was going on, myself and the other heroes were watching a troller dueling a stalker, brute was meant to be doing this too til the tank attacked him, i said on local

"Dude, im not going to help u against that brute, we're meant to be watching this duel"

tank keeps fighting, (tank had 6 slotted attacks with dmg SOs btw)

tank kept claiming how the brute being a higher lvl gave him an advantage, ok the 3 extra power maybe and the slots, but it was when i said the following and got the reply

"something tells me you dont kno what ED is..."
few secs later
"whats ED and how do you use it"
*goes back to watching the duel... >_<*

tank continues to fight brute, brute uses some kind of fear enducing power

tank: whats he doing to me! thats not fair...

*goes after a stalker*

on global, the tank continued to complain about the brute while i stood on the boat outside the villain base talking with the stalker about hide and perception, learned some interesting things, hopefully the tank did too

Really? Controllers shouldn't worry a regen. Annoy them, yes. Worry them, no.

2 controllers on the other hand /em shudder

Admittedly the fear power does annoy me. What's the point of having mez protection when there's incapacitating powers that punch right through it?

Back on topic.
I had a brute call out over Broadcast about how my blaster was a coward because she running away from him, or put another way; I wouldn't hang about in melee range for very long.

Insps aren't only an important part of PvP, they're an ESSENTIAL part for many builds.

Wow, that's impressively stupid. Maybe we should start shouting at Scrappers for spending far too much time hitting stuff and never helping out the team with buffs.

I think a lot of people seem to forget this is all a game. The PVP zones all have an auto sidekick effect to help even things out a bit. Sure certain builds, and higher lvl characters will still retain certain advantages but there is nothing stopping anyone else doing the same thing. I occassionally dabble in PVP with my Regen Scrapper. I have been one-shotted by Stalkers(embarrising!), team ganked, etc. I dont get mad i expect it to happen(you are warned when u enter the zone). If i see a villain and hero fighting il jump in and help out, if the hero wants me to back off i do. Same as if im fighting a bod and some else jumps in fair enough. If you are duelling it should be responsibility of same aligned characters to get the interlopers to back off. At the end of the day if your playing a hero and you see some one in trouble you should be wading in, its a game guys chill out.
Tip for anybody who still has uses on the Nectar temp power, if you fight a mastermind jump in middle of their pets and let Nectar rip(hilarious watching all the minions beat heck out of each other). At this point the MM is OMG! and you can start pounding on them. I guarantee they will get the impulse to run so when the pets come to their senses they should be too far off to help the MM out.

I would like to know how you have come to this assumption? A controller would beat a regen with no BFs in 30sec or less. Hell give em a full tray of BFs and the troller will win 9 outta 10 times.

Depends who gets the first shot in, but most controllers I've met can't do enough damage to a regen by the time the holds wear off.

happens alot of times if im on my ice tank i get accused of cheating cause i use chilling embrace to prevent AS and glacial armor to spot any stalker that doesnt use hide+stealth
