Mastermind love in I7
So, any word on what this mastermind buff will be to improve pvpability or was it in reference to the patron powers including a defense, which makes me wonder why were the masterminds singled out as soon to be having a PVP buff that would IMO need to apply to all the PVP zones.

No word yet. I do so hope it didn't mean the Patron Pools htough, since they are so lacklustre for Masterminds anyways.
I found the patron powersets very interesting, and especially the soul mastery. Being able to hold/health drain whilst bots open fire with burning plasma seems to be quite a good PvP tactic.

Well although i do get owned frequently in PvP MMs can trump the enemy sometimes.
The traps powerset is the set i hear about the least even though i find it quite effective in PvE and sometimes in PvP when i'm not getting a tank chasing me, poison trap on the ground followed by a quick sheild gen provides sufficent protection for about 5 mins. Then you get some cocky scrapper who trys to nail you and he gets battered by your poison trap and burning robot plasma.
So why do i hear so little about the trap powerset, does no one like it or something?

I love the robots/traps sets on my MM . Lots of evil toys to play with . I'd prefer to be squishy & have a damn good laugh than sit my time out being lazy inside a PFF .
It takes effort & scheming to set it up right in PVP, but it's really rewarding taking down a cocky level 50 hero in Warburg, & a gret laugh watching them wretch on poison, while acid eats their skin & exploding mines tear them limb from limb.... *cackles hysterically*...
The total suprise when a poison trap drops all their toggles drop & they're either held, or helplessly wretching is worth the set alone .
How are you finding your forcefield generator? I wasn't really after anything completely uber, but it seems to get punched through a HELL of a lot .
You can't really tear around carefree with traps, which might be a reason you don't see a lot of it in pvp zones.
I can't wait to get mine booby trapping the base .
Happy cake day, cactus dude!
FF generator is only about 7% def, slotted. Pants eh?
Back on topic, I'd put good infanmy on the MM buff being in the form of faster summoning.

i stick to pet-taunt. Specialy in PvP when someone goes straight to the MM himself, pets can taunt him off the MM. Helps minor in PvE, if you get a bit of agro, your pets can take it away. Serves the purpose, MM pets can be used at meatshield.
I put my infamy on it Not that i have much.. but still

Ow .
Maybe I'll take a paper bag instead .
MMs (mainly Force Field ones) Are brilliant against certain types of PvP enemies, I mean, Scrappers don't really stand a chance. But my corruptor can detoggle a MM in around 20 seconds.... Not really sure what they're going to get... should even this out a bit.

I have been thinking about the MM love. I think it will be that your pets linger after you are dead. So instead of MM goes splat pets all fall down. It is MM goes splat. Pets go vengence mode. 2 mins later pets fall down.

Looks like I was wrong....oh well.
Should be useful for us none Force Fielders, less useful for those that can already hide inside there own private bubble.

I have a level 20 Ninja/Trick Arrow MM, although i never play him, i am gonna wait until thug MM's come out then i gonna make a Thug/FF MM and Kick But in Pvp
So my Jounin can take loads of damage from my Genins getting whopped? Surely a better idea would be that damage YOU take is shared amongst your henchmen?

That is how I think it's meant to work.

'One example is the new Mastermind Bodyguard function, where Mastermind characters can share damage with their summoned Henchmen.'
[/ QUOTE ]
So my intrepretation of this is that some of the damage a mastermind takes is tranfered to any summoned henchmen.

Hmmm...true, could be read either way.
MM buff revealed. Somewhere on the US forum there's a linkage to some kind of damage sharing between you and your minions. bah, it's teh suckage.

Depends how it's implemented - if it's along the lines of BlackestNight's thoughts, it could be very effective, especially in PvP:

Personally, I'd rather have it be some kind of auto power that starts splitting damage done to the MM by however many Henches you have out. Basically, with 6 Henches, the MM now has roughly 83% resistance to all, taking only 1/6th of the normal damage and the Henches divide all the damage equally (meaning that they only took 1/6 of the damage too). This only affects damage done to the MM so it's not like the bots are splitting everything among them all the time.
Basically, the MM, himself, becomes the most Tank-like character in the game with a full compliment of 6 Henches. Once Henches start falling, that damage starts getting split up less and the MM becomes quite a bit squishier.

Could work quite well to address our squishyness, but we'll probably all need a recharge enhancement on our lowest pets due to how often we'll need to resummon in PVP. Still could be a big improvement on current standings.
lol, grant invis all pets, put them on passive and play tanker against some longbows. Brutes got competition.
Sounds nice, but got a feeling once people found a exploit on it (i asume only pets in 'range' will share), the nerf-bat is pulled out again from the closet.

reason why you dont hear bout it often is (i think) cause of the fact traps are very situational. You need to have time to place a shield gen (which doesnt take long) or a poison trap, mortar, etc. This leaves you rooted and very open to attack. Also if the enemy pays ANY attention, traps are easily avoided. On the other hand you got the sets that offer direct targets for either buff or debuff.
Hope I made myself clear cause i kinda find it hard to explain what i mean being non-english n all
