Mastermind love in I7
Don't know about PvP with MMs, but damn, my robo/FF is a PvE killing machine(s) with plenty of tricks too. No realy need to buff them up, except for perhaps the really early levels

Yeah, FF's got one heck of an advantage with that Personal Force Field... have a thought to us poor non-FF Masterminds who can't turn ourselves invincible at will.
i just read that and it started making me think of patron powers
will able to restart them if you pick the wrong one? e.g. while using a respec
cause i only heard of black scorpion's mace thingy and something to do with mako, something about a shark
i'm hoping its something thats lets us buff quicker
lose the will to pvp by the time i buff all my pets
Punchvoke for henchmen, or inheret power that, when used on hench, makes that hench use taunt/provoke on it's current target (or at least make provoke work that way).
Man can dream, eh?
I think MM's are already good in pvp, if they make us even better then every other AT's will start complaining ( though they shouldn't want to inccur the wrath of Lord Recluse )

Good point, FF users have an easier life than the others I think.
I'm PvP I saw a couple of /dark MMs totally owning. It was kinda scary!

Oh you just seem to forget :
- Force bolt : very accurate attack with 33 % chance of detoggle
- The two little bubbles for your pets, with I7 defence scaling, it could become making them invincible
- Dispersion bubble : some mez protection /Dark hasn't.
- Force Bubble : can be useful often in PvP.
So, /FF is really not limited to PFF... This is a so minimalist and uninformed view of the set...

[/ QUOTE ]The was supposed to signify a joke, if you look at my sig you can see the L35 FF/NRG Def there, I know full well how good the set can be. However, dark outperforms it on every single area apart for self-protection, and even that is flawed with FF due to not being able to attack from PFF.
Ok sorry I didn't understand the double meaning
as the "buff" in I7 is supposed to help MMs in pvp i would like to see the ability to upgrade all pets instantly instead of going through each one individually, in a pentad arena match it wud be near impossible to get all pets upgraded and ready for fighting
I'd like just a little something to up the defense on my traps mm. My little forcefield is more like a soap bubble . I don't want anything uber, just something that gives me enough time to get the hell out & spam aid self now and again .
Other than that I'm having fun learning to trap & ambush, even if it is ridiculously hard to pull off . I think I can hospitalise 1 hero for every 5 or 6 times I go myself .
All I'd like is a bucket with a sponge in to douse my dried out zombies and stop 'em from going woof! every time they look at a Longbow Flamethrower...

As someone who doesn't play a single MM and doesn't much like teaming with them, I think they seriously need some help in PvP zones, and would have been a bit upset if they'd not received any, honestly.
Right now, they're just easy targets (ignore the pets, kill the MM), or enemies I ignore outright (like if they're in PFF, or have invis... although PFF can sometimes be detoggled with a high-acc detoggling attack, like Force Bolt). The pets are pretty easy to get away from, and don't really do enough burst damage to be scary. I'm reaqlly glad they're being looked at, because it'd be great to see more MMs back in PvP... I've seen less and less of them lately.
Easy targets? Tell that to the blaster and troller that tried to take me down last night in Warburg
Not a scratch, to either me or my bots

Well we don't get the damage blasters have, but we're not really supposed to, but to be honest i think the lvl 32 upgrade is really good in pvp ( sure it takes a lot of time and really annoys you ). Yeah you can get away from pets easy, but that's if the MM is just standing there doing nothing to aid his pets.
We're not great in pvp, just OK. Also MM's really shine in pvp when they are in a team ( the annoyance factor of the pets is greater than any hold ).
The only thing i'd welcome is the ability to buff pets quicker in pvp, thus when a MM dies the team doesn't have to wait 5 minutes for him to get back into the fight.

mm's are awesome in zones if played by a skilled player, no doubt about it, in a pentad arena match however they wud never have time to upgrade all the pets and if they did they wud be no.1 target...die instantly...no pets...

The answer to the mysterious MM buff can be found here
The ideas I've heard most bandied about and would be most reasonable are...
1 = Defense buff based on number of henchman around you
2 = Damage shared out to henchmen around you
3 = Henchmen attacks do minor taunt effects
4 = Shared travel powers
Now I'm not sure the coding would support the second one, but we can know for certain it does support the first, third and fourth (as these style of effects are already coded in). However I'm not sure that the fourth is much of a bonus at all since MM's are still squishy even if they're very careful to travel with their henchmen.
Anyone else have any ideas on the above or other buffs it could be?
It is probably going to be 3 or 4 in my opinion. As the wording was buff for PvP but useful in PvE as well. 3 would be useful in PvP but only depending on the duration of the taunt but not in PvE as this effect is already in place as unless NPC's spawn as a specific ambush then they start attacking pets before they attack you.
4 would be very useful in PvP as it would allow you to get pets fully upgraded in an out of the way spot such as the villain base in sirens and then travel with them instead of them dropping out of the sky whenever you hit the set difference. This would also make PvE outdoor maps and street hunts much easier as you can safely travel with a travel power with out aggrivating things you didnt intend to.
Hmm I would like to see the taunt 1 implemented personally, since in pvp everyone just goes for the poor mm. However to be effective the pets would need to taunt whatever attacks the mm, which could suddenly mean that the person who sniped from a bazillion miles away gets taunted by some little oik ninja.
How near 40 btw doc?
From Positron, here:
"We have no plans for any sweeping balance changes tied to Issue 7. Masterminds are even getting a couple of advantages that will make them more viable in PvP, which will be useful in PvE as well."
Any thoughts on what? I reckon an Invincibility style buff, where we have defense based on how many of our henches are in range would be quite good (and codable via currently available powers!)
