For an Ice tank according to Dr Rocks comparison program Tough and Weave give more survivability that aid self. Aid Self gives more than hasten so best survivability is Tough, Weave and Aid Self.
-
Ok first off where ever you have a range enhancement delete it.
Howling Twilight has 2 possible uses:
1) As a rez - slot one recharge
2) as an AoE Disorientate - slot 3 recharge 3 dis dur
Jounin and Oni only need 2 Acc.
About CJ and Shadow Fall - Def isnt important as it is too small to matter, res on shadow fall is good it gives 20% base res to Neg, Psi, Nrg. That gives you more res to psi than most brutes have. important for AV fights its not there to keep the team alive but keep you alive. Aslo it has a stealth component so Shadowfall + SS = Invis. On the -speed side get swift instead of hurdle and you wont notice it.
Tar Patches best slotting is 3 recharge and 1 - 3 slow.
Darkest night may need another end slot, its up to you and what powers you will be spamming.
S + SJ is nice but for CoV and especially grandville SS + Fly would be better or even SS + TP. FLy gives you knockback protection with hover and is boosted by swift.
Personally I would only go with 1 travel power and that would be either fly or TP.
Soul Storm wants a recharge instead of a tohit debuff. -

Remember also most accolades are just 5 HP extra not 5% extra
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you are mistaken, the hit point accolades are percentage based while the endurance ones are a set amount
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought they all were percentage based it just happens that as endurance is 100 +1% End = +1 End. -
True you can get away with 2 slots dependent on other toggles.
-
Power choices first:
Drop Whirlwind.
I wouldnt bother with the speed pool at all for a MM just get Leaping.
Slotting:
3 Slot all pets for Damage
Slot 2 Accs in all pets bar the oni minimum - my slotting for my bots is 3 Acc in Tier 1, 2 Acc in Tiers 2 and 3
Only 2 recharges in Train Ninjas
Dont slot howling twilight that much either go for a single recharge or go 3 rechrge3 Dis dur
Tarpatch - get 3 recharges in there ASAP
Darkest night lose the recharge and ranges and slot with end reds instead
Health Dont slot it for 3 heal leave it with default slot.
Acro needs an end red not a recharge
Slot Dark Servant for To Hit debuff Recharge and heal.
Get Fearsome Stare and Petrifying Gaze ASAP
Where is smoke bomb?
MY Version of your build would be:

As far as I am concerned it comes down to number of slots. Tough, Weave and Aid Self provide better surviviability than hasten. Weave I think puts you at the defence cap and tough gives you some S/L Res. Aidself is better than hoarfrost in terms of amount healed and how often and slotting 2 int into it gives a reliable heal even in combat.
SLots are the issue as although you dont need to slot boxing/kick and aid other/stimulant Tough, Weave and Aidself both ideally want 6 slots. As you also want to slot up your armpurs it means you will struggle for slots in attacks. If you are willing to only 6 slot Whirling Hands, ET and TF then go for Aidself if not go for Hasten. -
I would like to do this with my Bots/FF MM Dr E Genius.
-
Trolls will be the last one as it takes the longest due to me switching characters.
-
For those who are coming tonight can you let me know your global handles and also be in Cap Au Diable for 7.30pm BST.
Team invites will be from Dactite. -
Yeah but a kin can just sapp all your end and then turn on repel.
-
Ok dead simple the ones that can turn up tonight turn up at 7.30 pm BST regardless of what time I posted above.
Those who cant do tonight turn up tomorrow at 7.30pm BST. If we have over 7 turn up tonight those that can do tomorrow as well will be asked that they turn up then. -
For me I would pick either elec or Sonic on a defender. Elec gices you some nice nd drain which with rad/ allows you to play in almost total safety. Sonic just gives a stupid amount of -res per attack which boosts your damage. Sonic may also have the most damaging defender nuke when including the -res. A kin/sonic might be fun for over powered defender damage.

as to the medicine pool i'm not sure i've ever taken that so therefore i think i'll give that a go and still stick hasten in there.
[/ QUOTE ]You won't be dissapointed

Arent your 2 favourite pools Medecin and Speed MaX? -
My advice is limited to get your Aura and Mezz protection. I dont do more unless there is some glaringly stupid power like permafrost or jump kick in the build.
I do offer more if people ask as I have found just giving unwanted advice can upset people. -
Inv Tanks + Weave = Extremely Good
Inv Brutes + Weave = Extremely Bad
For a brute you dont get enough bonus from the fighting pool to make it worth while. With the 3 power choices that you use up getting Boxing/Kick, Tough and Weave you would be better off getting Aid other/Stimulant and Aid Self.
Aid self when 6 slotted something like 2 heal, 2 interrupt, 2 recharge will give you a bigger survivability boost that tough and weave. It also gives you a spare power pick for either hasten or another attack which is always a good thing. -
I was wondering how defenders fit into PvP in general and specifically as I have a rad/elec defender.
I can see uses for them in team PvP to some degree as I would imagine that empath, sonic, kin and FF defenders would be useful but I cant really see where sets like rad or TA would come into there own.
It is probably my lack of PvP experience so could someone please enlighten me. -
OK as Wednesday has problems for 2 people I may put it back to thursday if everyone can do that, if not Wednesday is still on and I will do another run with Mighty and Honborg at another point.
-
Ok for Mission 2 we look to have:
Cavilier Eternal
Stan marsh
Mighty
Messy
Zwei
Firey
Honborg
Black Dragon
This puts us 1 over the limit for a team so I suggest we split into 2 teams:
Team 1:
Me
Messy
Cavalier Eternal
We will only kill the bone daddies which spawn 6 per run through so it wont take long at all
Team 2:
Me
Stan marsh
Mighty
Zwei
Firey
Honborg
Black Dragon
Landlubber
Basically we will kill all skulls on map should only take at most 10 resets. After everyone has the badge we will complete the mission.
Sugested times are:
7.30pm BST Wednesday 6th - Team 1
8.30pm BST Wednesday 6th - Team 2 -
I am looking to farm missions for the above badges, I have 3 missions that provide these badges and some require a team while others dont. The missions are as follows:
Mission 1:
Badge: Visionary
Alt: Dr E Genius
Level: 47's
Mission 2:
Badges: Bone Crusher and Kill Skulls
Alt: Dactite
Level: 14's
Mission 3:
Badges: Regenerator and associated gladiator
Alt: Dactite
Level: 14's
If you are interested in any of these badges please sign up saying which mission(s) and what time you are normally on. I would like a team of 8 to get the badge quickly and places will only be given to those that require the badges. If more than 8 people sign up for badges I may do serveral runs but the first run will be given to people who have outleveled the mission to get the badge (where appropriate).
Best times for me are during the day or in the early evening but I can accomadate what people need. -
I have a baby brute with the mission still.
As for badge farming missions I have 3 I want to run. -
Damn you sing now i'll have to get a third account just to join this SG.
We got a name for the SG yet or a suggestions welcome? -
Im out as well as I have just been informed I am going out for a meal with family tonight.

When it comes to alot of things you can tank with the build you enjoy just because enough of the survivability your after should come from the other people in the team anyway, providing you also assist them in doing their job more effectively. A trick archer isnt going to be that much good if you dont herd, the trick archer by laying debuffs on untaunted mobs could be the one always dead in every mob.
Tank says "Trick archery is pants", the trick archer says "call yourself a tank?" In this scenario the trick archer is correct.

I experienced something like this recently on a tf. Team make up was 2 Inv/ tanks neither with invinc, 1 had unyielding and no taunt the other had taunt and no Unyielding. 2 Warshades who both had dwarf and did do the odd bit of 'tanking'. 1 Ice Blaster, 1 Claws/Dark Scrapper, 1 Empath defender and 1 Rad defender (me). The tanks could not hold aggro and were usually the last to enter a mob, they were hopefully inexperienced players who didnt understand the game mechanics and the effect of the Inv powers. The person who did the most tanking was me, I was allowed to corner pull once which didnt work because the balster ran out into the mob before they were niceley packed. Most of the time it was a case of me rushing in and praying the team followed me and then hoping to survive which didnt happen often sometimes one of the warshades did aggro first but with the nice sprinkling of Quants, Voids etc it could be more risky for him than me. I did die a lot and was no where near as effective as I would have been if one of the two tanks had invincibility. The only person who could group mobs easily was me via RI and EF but there was no point in trying as I either died or one of the tanks would decide to punch the anchor who then chased after them thanks to gauntlet leaving a group of angry mobs waiting to kill me. About the only things that I managed on the tf were:
1. Keep the empath amused and help him get the healing badges
2. Work towards my damage taken and debt badges
3. Debuff AV effectivily.
On the tf I played either like a tank with no shields and low HP, a sub par elec blaster or a rad defender but this was only one time.
Ok heres the point:
You can tank effectivly with the build you enjoy BUT only if you pick your taunt aura.
Mezz protection can be provided by defenders or controllers dependent on thier power sets, shields arent needed if you have an Empathy, FF or Sonic on the team, self heals arent either if someone has a heal other power. The only power a tank needs to tank with from their primary is their Taunt Aura.
