weave and inv?

just wondering whether there is any mileage in getting weave on my /inv brute.coming up to using my freespec in the near future and was toying around with a few builds had a look at an old fire tank one (the last time i took weave) and what with the def from invincibilty itself it got me thinking.

so im just wondering whether this might improve my survival rates. im pretty certain im taking tough which leaves me with a "free" pick at around 30, so hasten or weave spring to mind really.

so anyone got any mileage of weave and inv goodness/badness?

thanks

I used to have Weave in my main Brute for some time. My goal was to have Tough as I thought his resistance to Smashing and Lethal was too low, and taking Weave as well seemed to be a good ideia since I had some power slots free.

I wont say the power is horrible, but it's far from perfect. My Brute didnt have any defence, and getting a 10% (along with CJ) was fairly good. But, as you know, the biggest problem with Brutes is trying to never run out of endurance. So, I already had 4 toggles, and then 6 with Tough+Weave. I had to 6 slot both, with 3 endredx and 3 res or 3 def. Besides, they root you when you activate them. I respeced the Fighting Pool out.

All I can say is that you have better choices. From what you described, I would take Hasten. It will help you more by allowing you to use Unstoppable more often, than just granting 8% in your defence. My advice: pick more useful powers first and pick Weave only if you dont have any more powers you want.

Inv Tanks + Weave = Extremely Good

Inv Brutes + Weave = Extremely Bad

For a brute you dont get enough bonus from the fighting pool to make it worth while. With the 3 power choices that you use up getting Boxing/Kick, Tough and Weave you would be better off getting Aid other/Stimulant and Aid Self.

Aid self when 6 slotted something like 2 heal, 2 interrupt, 2 recharge will give you a bigger survivability boost that tough and weave. It also gives you a spare power pick for either hasten or another attack which is always a good thing.

Yup, Inv tanks more on defence than resistance in the later levels, and using tough hide and invincibility we get quite close to the sweet spot of 1-in-20-hits-land defence - weave really pushes things up, despite its deceptively low defence value, by the time you've maxed out invincibility every scrap of defence is adding to your survivability by a vast amount.

you'll get a huge benefit from weave, but want to slot it for one or two endurance reduction - them's fightin' toggles be endurance hungersome.

Edit: Gah, it's the Brute forum, duh. OK, Weave's nigh useless on an inv. brute, take aid self and hasten.

thanks for the advice there guys

i was a bit worried about the old end situation and i guess its wishful thinking to think i could carry weave as well.

as to the medicine pool i'm not sure i've ever taken that so therefore i think i'll give that a go and still stick hasten in there.

thanks again
