Invulnerability?
Must Haves are:
Temp Invul - 3 Res, 0-2 End
Dull Pain - 3 Rechrge 3 Heal
Unyielding - 3 Res, 0-2 End
Invinc - 3 Def, 1 - 2 Taunt
Should Haves:
Unstoppable - 1 - 2 Res, 3 Rechrge
Tough Hide (Depends on who you talk to) - 1 - 3 Def
Could Haves:
Resist Physical Damage - 1 - 3 Res
Resist Elements - 1 - 3 Res
Resist Energies - 1 - 3 Res
My list in order of effectiveness is
Dull Pain
Invincibilty.
Unyielding, only for the mez protection the resistance is junk.
Temp Inv
Tough Hide, a very maligned power, why people rate the Resist Es instead of this I don't know.
Tough, I know it is in the fighting pool but it is a good power for an inv.
Weave, I know it is in the fighting pool but it is a good power for an inv.
Resist Physical Damage, If you don't get Tough , get this.
Unstoppable, people rate this high or not, personal choice.
Resist Energies, this was good in I4 and earlier, now it is poor.
Resist Elements, this was good in I4 and earlier, now it is poor.
The first 5 I would get and slot ASAP, Unyielding is the exception, slotting it is not urgent.

When it comes to one versus one (ie AV wants you or some guy in pvp zone) as an invuln resists id say are better (although thats not to say not getting hit at all is nice) but it can take quite a bit of defence.
But if your more toward a herding tank (and especially if you lack interest in how defenders work best) then get as much defense as possible, you will suffer less secondary effects as a consequence too which is an additional bonus.
Scaleable defense and the changes to power pools being def to all has made considering defense seriously worth it.
I made my invuln with weave on test and it was wow easier against +2 to +3 carnival, i could herd 17 and solo the lot without looking at an inspiration! To do that normally solo id of had to chew on 2 or 3.

Must have's:
TI
DP
UY
Invinc
Should have's:
RPD
Unstop
(Aid Self)
(Tough)
Could have's:
Tough Hide
(Weave)
REn
REl
Yeah I think with the scaleble defense they took the risk out of an Inv/ tank. I herded a good chunk of a CoT defeat all mish against +1's and just stuck my AoE attack on auto and made a cup of tea, came back and I was still in green with most of them half dead.

Tanks took a bat and defenders became more useful (as useful as intended) in teams. It is with (all def) powerpools stacking to sometanks versus some enemies reminiscent of Ye Olde Days. I quite like having everyone in the team being important even though it can be frustrating when people in the team play in a way that makes certain sets less effective than they are supposed to be. According to Stateman tanks arent actually supposed to take it all i believe, and i agree with that, thats why you have debuffers, buffers, controllers and scrappers with taunt to pull of the bosses and blasters who can only mainly kill despite most having useful secondary effects.

Amen to that, everyone should be of use
Cheers all, I'll heed the tips/advice given and march my tank back into the respec shop. (must remember Invincibilty this time!)

Does Invulnerabilty powerset have any endurance drain resistance?
Nope... Unstoppable ups your recovery, but that's all, still get drained just as badly.

Unstoppable is the nearest thing to end drain resistance. It gives you +recovery and is undroppable as it is a clickie.

No, you pretty much have to be offensive on the end draining enemies and not allow them to end drain you. People tend to use holds on main end drainers like sappers. Weave will help to some extent but even with say a defence bubble or fortitude someone like a dark ring mistress will still have a good chance of getting you although all the other usual carnies being arrested around you would miss more. Weave is a good power to have. You can tank without it but having it means you will not only get hit far less but you miss out on having to deal with secondary effects like end drain. I used to have it, before defense was scaleable, i got rid of it back then, i even did dreck maps better without it. I have pvp plus glads from pvp zones to get but after i'll get it again just because you have to ask people all the time to do what you expect of them so that they are actually useful. Things like conserve energy and unstoppable can be good back ups in case of trouble as nothing is fullproof. If you have unstoppable and use it on no endurance then fast recharge taunt is good to have. However what other people in the team can often do might offer the better solution.
I could of just said no but you are not the only one who reads these.

I think Aerie's planning on being the drainer rather than the drainee

In pvp with any really good elec/elec blasters, invulns would pretty much just need to fully kit out on blues and break frees. The serious problem would be kinetic defenders who have repel.

But Invuln gets one of the best repel resistances...
Can basically walk through TK or Hurricane with either Unyielding or Unstoppable.
Yeah but a kin can just sapp all your end and then turn on repel.

A kinetics repel is different because it has a chance to detoggle every so often so even without the end sap it could pose problems. The chance to detoggle has been reduced by alot though but its still looks great imo.
A kin can easily uninterruptably heal on you as you work their health down which means you waste endurance, plus they end sap you plus you could be detoggled quite often whilst being attacked.

Unstoppable is a clicky, it won't be turned off if you have no endurance and you'll get a nice endurance buff anyway... =D
IIRC kins usually won't have that great +accuracy either so if the inv is +def'ed up with CJ, weave, invincibility, etc. then might have more trouble landing that leech heal/endurance drain.
Meh, powers and counterpowers... pvp makes my head hurt!

Hurm, those things are all counteracted by one small acc insp.. tbh invulns are not so great on +def.
Unstop does give very nice +recovery, undroppable dam resists and all but the problem is the crash.. which should be an autowin for opponent in pvp.. Using unstop in a pvp match isnt very good idea.. How did this derail into pvp btw?

It's all Aerie's fault!!
(In a pathetic effort to get back OT, the defensive abilities of the Inv tank I'm currently levelling are below!)
---------------------------------------------
01) --> Temp Invulnerability==> DmgRes(1) DmgRes(7) DmgRes(9) EndRdx(19) EndRdx(25)
02) --> Dull Pain==> Heal(2) Heal(7) Rechg(15) Rechg(15) Rechg(33)
08) --> Unyielding==> DmgRes(8) DmgRes(9) DmgRes(19) EndRdx(25) EndRdx(31)
12) --> Combat Jumping==> DefBuf(12)
16) --> Health==> Heal(16) Heal(17) Heal(17)
18) --> Invincibility==> DefBuf(18) DefBuf(23) DefBuf(40) EndRdx(46) Taunt(48) Taunt(50)
24) --> Resist Energies==> DmgRes(24) DmgRes(43) DmgRes(45)
26) --> Tough==> DmgRes(26) DmgRes(27) DmgRes(27) EndRdx(31) EndRdx(34)

I'm planning to get all the +HP accolades, hence only two heal SOs in Dull Pain to hit the HP cap. Also I'll be respeccing weave and Tough Hide out once he hits 50 to fit in Rage and Focussed Accuracy and rejigging the power pick order a bit so he can function reasonably well in PvP.
Did you know that Tough Hide and Weave have the same defence bonus? Surely you should pick Tough Hide before Weave as it costs no endurance. Also Tough Hide is more effective than Resist Energies and Resist Elements put together providing you have invinicbilty active and 1 person is in melee. This is assuming you don't have Combat Jumping which just makes it even more effective.
So if I was to change the power order around I would get Tough at 24, Tough Hide at 26, Weave at 28 and then the passives at 41,44 and 47. However I don't know what level you are now so I may be advising you after you have picked them.
Slotting Heals in Dull Pain is not just to increase your HP. Before the heal did that in early I6 it was still sensible to 3 slot do it as Dull Pain is actually your only self-heal power. Given that your build looks very defensive I would 6 slot Dull Pain by level 18.

should be 2 dam res whilst you dont have the passives and 1 dam res when you do.

Okay, been playing my tank recently, he tanks quite well, but I'm thinking I could make more room for other powers following a respec.
What powers in Invul are must haves, should haves and lastly could haves?
Slotting would also be a plus.
Currently I have all bar Invincibility. (my bad, it got forgot in my last respec /e wristslap)
Cheers!
