  1. I have a selection of Magical components (from basic and medium level forges) that have been created from a selection of Knights of Injustice salvage and would be looking to trade these for tech components of a same level or ludicrous amounts of infamy to help bankroll the group.

Should be online on Sunday so will send a global tell then.
  2. Looks like I will be missing out on this since my shifts have been rearranged at work due to sicknesses.

But based on the premise that this will take a long time to get I will wait for an announcement for the next hunt.
  3. I would like to get this badge with Darklimb although won't have any real time until tommorrow night 4th (and not until after 10pm)

Then working nights on the 5th and 6th so should be about most of the day on 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th.

Just work odd shifts but wanted to give you some dates to play with, as you say it will take time but unless anyone has come across outcast bosses on any test server missions there doesn't appear to be a better way to approach this.

Send a tell to @Darklimb whenever there is a hunt on or add as a global friend if you like to see if I am there or not.

    Fair play?

Having read the first page I have to agree with everyone else.

People will moan if you beat them, best thing to do is beat them again, after a while they will leave and the zone becomes a better place.

The broadcast channel I believe is the favoured channel because everyone can hear it, the default disabled villain/hero chat contributes to the use of broadcast IMO.

It does sound like as a brute you are apologising a little too much, please stop that. Remember if I didn't have my bots you could kill me please remember to point this out to me if I ever kill you.

    Regards,
    Darklimb
  5. I like the idea of being stronger in PVP but think it should be tied into the missions a little more, at the moment I think the buff debuff missions are not really used effectively and the values behind these should be more transparent, sometimes I see missions completed granting a 6% buff other times its only a 1% buff, what is the cap how do we know when it has been reached etc. etc.

If there is more info on this and I haven't spotted it would someone be kind enough to enlighten me? Also is there a reason why the contacts in these zones can be outlevelled considering you always get malefactored/lackeyed to the same level anyway.
  6. The fonts look much better now and I'm really enjoying the diary, I'm also going to assume that any spelling and grammar issues are because it is written by a youngster and not because of limited proof reading.
  7. Very nice use of php mysql then, I know someone who did the same for a webmastery project at uni but never looked into it myself.

Congratulations on getting the centering thing working it seems very effective. Still not seen the problem lost ninja was having and the loading issue seems to have disappeared now, maybe because it has already been loaded previously.

Im curious to know if the text would look better slightly larger and with the scroll bars and space around the menu this seems almost achievable until I looked at the power listings which just wouldn't fit if the font was larger

Oh and this may be a little pre-emptive but congrats on 50
  8. So, any word on what this mastermind buff will be to improve pvpability or was it in reference to the patron powers including a defense, which makes me wonder why were the masterminds singled out as soon to be having a PVP buff that would IMO need to apply to all the PVP zones.
  9. Taking a patron doesn't necessarily mean you have to use their powers, Im pretty sure Bridger said this somewhere although can't find it now so I could be wrong but that would be like forcing power choices onto you.

I imagine you could take a patron have the content and the badge and the respec then ignore the available patron pool and fill with standard pool or primary/secondary power choices. Do heroes have to have epic pool powers?
  10. Im with Lost Ninja on the dislike of flash but if thats what works for you then best of luck to you. Not sure what php is being used to do.

Im using a 1280x1024 res at work but when I resised the browser to 800x600 or 1024x768 (firefox 1.5 on win xp) the flash bit seemed to stay put, in the middle of the screen and if it was designed for a higher res it seems a bit small. I think the flash loading bars got stuck on some of the sections and I had to click the link again to get it to display the information (never seen that before).

I like checking out websites though and have worked on a lot I look forward to seeing a villain counterpart.

Edit: Just tried in IE aswell and the same odd centering effect seems to apply. Checked the source and despite it not being a recommended standard I would suggest replacing the <div id=centered> and the <div align=center> with the simple <center> </center> tags around the flash object, the absolute poitsioning of 25% from top and left don't seem to be having the desired effect.
  11. Im a little dissapointed I don't get my own arachnos pet, especilaly since every one else now gets one, but am happy I get some more defense and the holds and immobs will only improve the irritation I can cause in PVP, I will be interested to see what sort of damage the single target holds will do and what 'Mag' they are having a target pop a single break free to negate my top level power will be desheartening to say the least. And seeing as they seem to work like regular pool powers in you won't really want both starting powers means I should be able to work the otehr dark hold into my build aswell, which I originally thought would be rubbish but since fluffy has been using it to great effect I have chnaged my mind.

Been after a respec for a while too since I only got two having not clicked the character respec reward after the first time I did the respec

The powers are not in any way uber but I still look forward to earning them.

Any idea what level you have to be to chooose a patron?
  12. The debt in PVP zones is really the only point in having the big red warning signs when entering the zones. If you get killed by a player there is no repercussion the NPCs are there to create risk in the form of debt. Without the npcs we just have open arena 'zones' which just sounds boring to me.

If other players use the NPCs to kill you then they don't get the reputation and/or bounty that would be due them this is what is in place to discourage this type of 'griefing' If you go to the zone and these are the only tactics being used, you can leave when they run out of targets the players will get bored and leave. If you pvp a lot why do you even care about debt, you'll reach the debt cap soon enough and then pvp without risk, the problem seems to be people who want to pvp and pve and aren't prepared to exemp down for a couple of missions after a debt heavy pvp session.

    E.V.I.L. Returns

Was a fun raid tonight, my first, hopefully be more in the not too distant future.

Thanks to the Horde for a painful and humbling time although if we had more online it may have been a better second battle.

    Murky.
  14. Using my Kin I have been targeting the person I want to heal rather than a mob near them, usually the brute needs the heal and will have the current target it is working on trageted which will be where the power hits.

I have noticed another issue with kin though, if the mob you hit with it dies just before you hit it the power is fired (so has to recharge) and the green aura appears but no one gets any heal. Conversley using dark on my mastrmind hitting a foe as it was going down still got the heal working, its a shame that both of these heal powers that need to hit to have an effect don't heal in equal situations
  15. I'd be more interested to know if the equiped assault bot does more damage than a base one. No upgrade power in Siren's.

I will be experimenting more with not equipping the assault bot as since the first thread on this I have noticed the excessive animation for the flamethrower (especially against single targets)

Also when the Americans checked the numbers what distance was the bot from the target, I like to think they were the same distance in both tests but was it close enough to use the flamethrower or not?

And if they were experimenting with the assault bot why not check the battle drone at the same time, could save me a lot of upgrading time if the upgrades make a difference there.

    List of prices?

If they work like placeable items then that would let groups that don't want to be raided the opportunity to complete the trial without having to place the item and get the benefits/responsibilities of actually having the IoP in their base.

    Working as Intended?
  17. I soloed a lot of the game with my Mastermind, I enjoyed learning the controls and playing through the story arcs. I was a member of a supergroup and would happily participate or help out if others got in trouble and had somewhere to turn if I got in trouble myself.

Having created other characters I have found myself teaming a lot more, soling as a MM was moderately easy and fun, soling with the other AT's sees me overwhelmed pretty quickly, in fact I created a rad/kin on tuesday and apart from the zig haven't soloed anything since (15 levels in a day and a half of play). I have become very familiar with the find team mate system and will either ask to join any similar level teams I see around or form my own if any similar level characters are unteamed.

For the most part this has been very successful, im not sure if there is a particular level range where numbers start to thin out though but imagine by that point I will expand my search to higher level members and try to convince them I am just looking for a team and not looking for powerlevelling.

If you have a number of friends on CoH that won't come onto villains can you not encourage them to team with you? Your problem with the game seems to stem from the people you are teaming with or maybe the life span of teams, some people have real life commitments and I haven't seen people saying they had to leave and then hang around.

What exactly are you looking for in a great group and what sort of things would relegate a great group to only decent level?

From what little I have seen of CoH the Villain AT's are a little more blurred are you just too used to the CoH a tanker tanks a defender defends style of play? (not meaning to be accusatory just curious, I love villains and just can't get into Heroes)
  18. Spent ages trying to move the Knights of Injustice base around then when I got the stuff where I wanted it it didn't really work and I just couldn't face having to move it all back.

Going to suggest a holding area for salvage items and the ability for same room types to overlap A 4x2 workshop that could hold 4 tables would be nice hell even three tables if they didn't want to make the 4x4 workshop a total waste of space. Actually I'll wait until the Issue 7 base features are revealed as hopefully they will have tweaked the engine anyway.
  19. Sounds good, I take it there will be a majority of Stalkers? I started a stalker and got it to level 8 before getting a little bored but I'd be happy to put him in this group if you aren't in a big rush to get them all levelled?

Didn't have the best experience with the stalker AT so it will probably be the last character I put any real time into. Although with some tips and the right team I might enjoy it a little more. Or if you can suggest a suitable alternate AT I might be very interested.

I was teamed with a mastermind the other day who said that he was going to be /or had forming(ed) a stalker only SG and was pretty excited about the PVP potential of such a group I think it was called the hidden or something along those lines might be worth trying to hunt them down.

Hopefully the group would flourish as it would be great to have Union top of the PVPers.
  20. So you want a group of PVPers who will not be PVEing a lot but have a suitable base that you can use for running PVP raid events but not actually earn an significant prestige to pay for it.

I look forward to raiding this group when they steal an item of power just so we can ransack the place and put them out of action for months at a time

(We still on for 8th April?)
  21. We had teleporters but they didn't get a great deal of use and I think we deleted them and fitted a raid teleporter so we could participate in raids. It has been gathering dust after a couple of initial tests. Recently put the teleporters back in and have made careful note of the locations it spits you out. Worth noting the Mercy beacon will take you from the fort (where the base portal is) to Mercy itself (where the second arbiter and store is) this saved me a little time with a low level character.

Port Oakes puts you outside the SG registrar (good for paying that rent)

Not got the CAp or Sharkhead beacons attached.

Nerva puts you on a small island between the Ferry and the Longbow base.

St Martial takes you just outside the Golden Giza.

I placed the beacons based on ease of access, travelling between St Martial or Nerva and Mercy or Port Oakes takes a few ferry trips. The link between Port Oakes, Sharkhead and St Martial through Pocket D made the sharkhead beacon seem unneccessary, and I probably used some similar rubbish logic to decide against the Cap beacon too.

These images are 100% accurate any groups planning a raid should make note of this
  23. At the lower levels I would normally send my pets in first to get things started, while the whole team stands around waiting for something to happen it seemed to get the ball rolling. I have also 'tanked' as my brute by jumping in taking the alpha strike and trying to fire off dark regen before they get the last hit in, I'd say around 30% of the time I got a does of debt for my trouble.

At higher levels with my Mastermind I am more than happy to send in a battle drone to die while the team watches but I normally try to use it as a pulling tactic to make sure the group uses it, bot fires lasers "oh look bot has turned around and is coming back and the spawn is following, best get to work team".

Having played as a mastermind I found that I seemed to be starting a lot of the fights without being asked, playing as other characters I have asked masterminds to send in henchmen and been sure to follow up their sacrifice, I soloed a lot with my mastermind and got the impression from a lot of teams that masterminds were not all that well liked due to getting in the way and what can be limited damage output and crazy aggroing pets, I try to be as best a team player as I can be but even then I'm not always going to find myself on the best team, if they only have one tactic involving telling me to use one of my henchmen as a tank for every mob then I'd rather solo.
  24. Been checking out Warburg trying to pick on a few targets, the upgraded bots make a significant difference when targeting squishies aslong as I see them before they see me.

The phase shift temp power predicatbly seems a lot more prevalent though. Is it possible to do that patrol mission for any level hero or just those not too far past 40?
  25. Funny when people say I only beat them because of my pets, and I have to point out that I have no offensive powers without them and could just debuff them to the point they can't hit me.

When Wamdue uses telekinesis and I try to get my bots to chase after the target while they float off accross the map.

A few occassions in the web in warburg when a brute underestimates me and runs around in tar trying to hit me while my bots keep up a steady stream of damage, or when I 'summoned' a SS/dark brute i was teamed with I think the tanker thought it was a dark servant and didn't realise it was another character until too late.
