When the Tank faceplants through taking Taunt at lvl 10 prior to shields, then run as though the wolves were at your heels!

1. Don't take on more than you can deal with - Blasters are always pretty much one hit away from death.
2. Know your environment. This can be as simple as using scenery to block aggro to knowing a route back to relative safety when you have bitten off more than you can chew (see point 1). I got used to always having the map open, tucked away in the corner.
3. When teaming, make sure you let everyone know what you're doing. Create binds for pulling minions or letting off your nova power. Communication is key because if you charge in willy-nilly, the team can't help you stay alive.
4. Play tactically. Sure, those Sky Raiders you're facing do include a boss, but the one that'll cause you instant trouble is the Raider Engineer if he gets a force field up, so take him out first.
Just a few non-powerset pointers, I'm sure it's all stuff you know anyway.
Never bite off more than you can chew at early levels. Always try and 'parry' your target (hitting the mob while remaining out of their attack range, incredibly useful against melee types).
Blasters can take some punishment, more than Controllers can do anyway, when they run out of end, which is never good. Never listen to ANYONE who tells you to strike first, don't snipe bosses in a large group, don't use AoE attacks when a controller has just used Mass Hynopsis, unless the mobs are all green and blue to you and it'll likely kill them.
Having a positive attitude as a blaster also works wonders
My blaster followed these rules when teaming because i have tank:
1) teaming with a tank pre aura:
hit what tank hits
2) teaming with tank with aura:
hit what is hitting tank in melee range
3) teaming with tanker who has taunt aswell:
hit what is actually hitting tank but go mad with everything you got
4) teaming with a tanker who doesnt save you with taunt:
forget i even mentioned 3 till you get a better tank.
5) teaming with a tanker who is pulling to a herd point:
stand well back as the untaunted chasing the taunted never saw the tank and are looking for fresh aggro.
6) dont stand too close to or pass the tanker.

Get used to dying and having perma debt
Never give up. Blaster's are so rewarding as they are so hard to master.
so far I have struggled as I keep forgetting I am not a controller or tank. Having fun with it still

Everyone has said good stuff. Just quickly, off the top of my head: target through the tanks or scrappers where possible, but sometimes they don't change target fast enough, so just be aware of who is aggroing on them and attack them. Definitely let others take the alpha strike!
Don't be afraid to run. Defiance can be great in the right circumstances - it can give you the occasional real superhero rush - but it's nothing to rely on.
OTOH, as a blaster, you'll probably get very rich
If you like a bit of controlling with your blasting, ice/ice is a great combination (if you forego the blapping powers) - you are like a mini-controller with awesome damage.

And the most vital piece of advice i can give is, don't listen to anyone that doesnt have a blaster themself at lvl 50. As they will give you the worst advice ever eg.

DON'T get to attached to Blasters cuase i have a lvl 33 Fire/Fire Blaster i had to give up cause he got to much debt so what i'm saying is taht Blasters get A LOT of debt....

It's true. A Debting Blaster is a Happy Blaster. Okay, so the rest of your team doesn't like you charing in head first...did you buy the game for them, or for you? Play tactically, sure, but above all else, play the way you want to play. Did Batman make a name for himself as someone who's whipped, or for being the World's Greatest Detective (and a badass to boot)?
I say, head down, Bind up, fingers crossed (but not when you're pressing keys, as this hurts) lie back, think of England, make a cup of tea, and wait for the fun to start.

[/ QUOTE ]Debt is no reason to delete a character, and is usually good thing, as it increases the amount of content you get to see per level as well as your inf/xp ratio.

just keep killing stuff, of the normal xp you'd get off an enemy, half is transferred to xp, half to debt.
if you want the fast way, exemplar to someone (exemplar is kinda like reverse sidekicking). This will mean you wont get xp, but every xp you'd normally get is transferred to 100% debt, and if you are out of debt, all inf. If you want more info, go talk to a trainer (ms liberty etc) and ask bout sidekicks and exemplars.
However i suggest you just keep playing without exemplar, as you will notice debt goes away just as fast if you got a decent team.
Oh, bout sniping bosses in a mob, if you are pulling mobs always go from lowest rank to highest rank, if you try to pull the boss (which noobs will ALWAYS suggest), you will bring all his friends

And on the final words on debt, NEVER mention how much you have/haven't got out loud. It's ASSURED you will die, gaining more if you ever do that, due to the debt faeries always listening.
For basic tactics
Learn which mobs can stun you and target them first.
With Snipe, take out the guy on the side.
With Area Damage, aim for the middle one.
With Cone Damage, aim for the furthest back.
You cannot avoid the first attack back, but you can avoid the second one if you kill him quick or get under cover as the first hits.
If you're in a team and get hit by a status effect type ZZZ into the group channel so your Empath knows to heal you.
You will be the first one who dies; so keep some awakens handy.
Keep some Catch a Breath's handy always as well as some BreakFree's.
Know your limits, you should be able to two-shot yellows but if there's orange,red or purples around; get help.
No Endurance soon means no Health.
Running like a girl is often the better part of Valour.
If you're being chased by 23 Purples, Don't check back to see if they've stopped. They haven't.
If the Empath or Tank says "Run!" or "End Rest", THEY KNOW BETTER THAN YOU.
lol Silver_Weasel, all these points are soooo true, Im only lvl 11 and got to learn most of them quick
Ive never reached the debt cap with Ebola, a couple of times I gotten over 50k worth, but its usually gone after a couple of missions.
My advise.
At lower levels.
1.remember your a ranged AT dont be tempted to go toe to toe.
2. Be aware of what is going on around you, assist when ever possible your tank\scrapper(s) by targeting thier targets.
3. Discression is the better part of valour, as you will generally be at the back you should see them comming. RUN when advised.
Even as a Blapper at higher levels you certainly give out damage, but you cant take it. So in melee pick you fights and have fun

though i noticed that the time it takes for an enemy to get back up from power thrust is just long enough for you to charge that snipe and shoot em right back down

Here's a tactic I love that works well with scrappers too. If your most powerful attacks are short range, ready them at a distance then use superspeed or superjump to go flying past your target, once you're within range the power will go off, but your momentum should keep you going and get you out of range again straight away
I have not had a blaster since before I3 but have just rolled one...
Any advice?
