The Imperial Rifles
I'm considering joining in on this, rather than my previous post of being a exemped terminator ( the lazy option ) I think I'll just be cannon fodder, I mean a standard brother.
What travel powers are we thinking of, from my somewhat out of date WH 40K knowledge, flight and super jump are in concept.
Does anyone have any build advice?
@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.
WOOT, travel powers are whatever people feel happiest with, personally I'm going for fly, as are many others (jump packs ftw) but then SJ could demonstrate this just as well.
Build advice is simple for a battle brother, empasis on the primary using the EN buffs from the secondary to make it powerful. Additional pool? Take what you want...

Dammit man, can't you think of a cool combo with powers I haven't played?!

There will be others coming later
Got Brother Librarian Drey Rauss up to lvl 6 last night, so well chuffed (thanks for the all Armour advice, guys!)
Fot travel powers, I think that jump packs (SJ)for the Battle Brothers, and flight packs (Flight) for Commanders & Chaplains, but Librarians (and Chaplains) also having access to Teleporters... Superspeed doesn't seem in context to me for Imperial Marines.

This is really cool, any chance I can join? I've rolled an AR/En called Brother Fenris (Space Wolves influence ). Who do i talk to online for invitation? When is the next meet-up?
@Moondog
Union:
CoH: Moondog (WS); V-Rock (Tnk, semi-retired); Pole-Star (Bla); Demon Dog (Scr).
CoV: Midnight Gunner (Corr); Operative John Doe (Ban); Day-Star (Dom); Commissar Jaeger (MM).

Hi
Just thought I'd have a go at a scout character and messing with creator came up with this.
No helmet
tight armoured body to make it look less bulky than normal marine.
fingerless gloves not sure about this but most gloves didnt look right
tech 2 shoulder pads same as normal marines
tech tactical belt
tucked in cargo pants with leather strap boots
Also thought he could be a AR/Dev as powers maybe fit his role better (although drone looks iffy)
he would have concealment powers and probably recall friend don't know about travel powers
tell me what you think?
btw i was brother raven last night and really enjoyed meself.

Thats not a bad idea, the scouts always looked less heavily armoured.
Edit: though he'd have to look young, plus I think they sported funny haircuts

Is this allowed yet? Had a decent scout look with that nifty korean character creator but he used the tight version of the tech armour and no helmet (rest of the suit was standard).
I seem to have slipped back from the others in the last few days so I should soon be able to get a lvl 9/10 frostfire. Don't mind running a lower lvl team and I'll be on lots over the weekend if anyone wants to join me
Is there a limit to how many chars we have in the SG, obviously I have a brother at the moment but could I also have a terminator in there if I wanted?
Scouts are allowed now, they will fall into the same class as battle brothers as we lack the option of having more so if you want an AR/Dev scout then go for it, the described uniform is absolutely fine.
Brother Fenris, @Doulos is your friend for signing up, but ANY member of the SG can invite. Meet ups seem to be quite often with plenty of exemping and SKing going on...
@tufty there is not currently a limit on toons available BUT at the rate we are filling up some form of limiting might have to be set in place. I suggest trying out different classes and see which one you enjoy the most

So take the buff power from the secondary. Power push, Conserve Power, Power Boost, Boost Range.
What about the primary? I've never done an AR before. Burst, Slug and Buckshot? What about M30 grenade?
Do I need stamina?
@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.
Seems most of the AR/En have M30 mate. I don't but thats cos I'm taking both First Aid and Leadership pools. Judging by Doulos' end bar, stamina looks like it'll be necessary.
Stamina does help muchly, the end drain from AR isn't that bad but you may well need it.
EVERYTHING in the AR set is handy, a volley of M30s is one of the best things I've seen in the group so far. If one has to be left then I'd say ignite is the most dropable with the concept (but with cryo ray from the epic it is UBER). Beanbag will be fairly essential, especially at higher levels when we need to take out mezzers like mentalists.
Energy powers that should be used are: build up, conserve power, power boost (especailly with bean bag) and boost range (snipe volley) but feel free to take the blaps if you want them, however power thrust in itself is a fantastic back up power for getting people out of your face (and enough in my personal opinion). Remember that every time you use a power from the secondary pool you will put your weapon away which means draw time... auto firing brawl is a great melee back up...
If even one of the medicine pool can be squeezed in then go for it, even a one slotted heal other with power boost will do a pretty good heal and reduce the groups downtime.
Any name restrictions?

nope, we have all sorts
Many brothers, many firstname/surnames, all that jazz, so whatever you fancy...
Hmmmmm....
Does the conceal powerset actually increase your defence?
would it be possible to put my lv50 bs/sr scraper in the rifles as (acting) company champion good for earning prestige plus i would love to make unique power armour with god shoulders and helm
plus what about apothecarys was thinking the close combat marines could take medicine pool to represent this.
plus any sugestions on standard bearer.

Not by much, but yes.
CoX 50s: <ill/rad> <ice/ice> <fire/kin> <grav/sonic> <ice/storm> <earth/kin> <kin/elec> <cold/psy> <thugs/dark> <fire/dark> <dark/elec> <night widow> <EM/ninj> <mind/icy>
Not massively... 3 +3 SOs on stealth add a tiny 4.22% combine it with 3 +3 SOs on combat jumping and you get another 4.22 then finally add hover and you add another 4.22 all three stacked gives you 6 wasted slots and a crappy defence with only one additional power pool left. As a blaster it is far better to trust in your attacks than try and muster a meagre defence...
Biggest problem with the pool heal is its another power that puts your weapon away. Its not bugged me too much, but it is a little annoying. If the power hasn't recharged it still puts your weapon away.
Also, the lack of range is a bummer. If you see me running around madly, its usually cos I'm trying to heal!
Definatly rolling a scout then .
Normal brother suit, only without helmet and with a thight armour for torso. Will (eventually) get the fitness pool, invisibility pool (all 4 powers) and the teleport pool.
Not sure where I'm heading yet.
hmm... not sure about a level 50 earning prestige tbh would rather we get it the normal way, plus the prestige earned at higher levels isn't as massive a difference the influence earned. As for a champion I would rather this blossom from the rosta of those who are working there way up...
apthecarys do exist, they will be classed as chaplains but the condition is that the toon have the healing pool WITH resurrect. However there may be an armour variation implicit in this...
No idea on a standard bearer as of yet, the lack of being able to have a standard being a bit of a problem. But as and when an appropriate build can be chosen then it might be another unique build in the SG like the Storm/electrical defender, but uniques are not being rushed.
I am also looking at tech marines as an option, but they are a bit later than my 40k days so am unsure about what powersets a tech marine might have.
When people can, it was pointed out that we need to get our eyes red to further define the look, so get to an icon whenever it suits and get your tek shield eye piece upgraded to red... the fifth red in will be the standard colour.
So we have:
Battle Brothers:
Scout (AR/Dev)
Assault Brother (permitted scrapper builds)
Battle Brother (AR/En)
Chaplains
Librarians
Terminators
UNIQUE BUILDS
Storm/Electric Defender
Builds tbc
Tech Marine
Standard bearer (Unique)
More clarifaction on role and rank will be available when we begin to get people in the 20s with capes to define the differences in the battle brothers etc...
Gonna go see if I can make a decent looking scout based off my old models (yes, I have one here!), but then I'll be back onto my Chaplain, Castagir.
Teleport is the order of the day - may even get Team Teleport, since I recall such things as teleport systems for dropping in Terminator Squads from the various bits of Black Library fiction that I've read.
Will post a pic up here if I come up with a close enough match, though I might have to replace teh combat knife with a katana build.
Didn't Imperial Scouts have mohawks and war paint?

Well, I've started levelling Fea'Ther as a team aggro holder. Not sure If I'll enjoy it yet, but since I have absolutely no idea as to how to build a Tank can anyone post an Inv/En build for me to follow? Don't fancy trawling the forums for build advice on yet another AT
