  1. Hi Skarlso,

I dont know of any Hungarian Supergroups... never actually met anyone from Hungary before tbh either, but if you decide to join a European one then I can point you in the direction of the Handprints.

We have members from alot of different countries, UK, Germany, Sweden, Greece, Turkey, South Africa etc. We are very active with events running every day of the week. Based on prestige earnings the Clean Handprints (hero SG) are number 2 on Union, only being beaten by our villianous SG, the Dirty Handprints.

We have alot of experianced members happy to help out anyone and answer any questions etc. We don't power level or farm as an SG though so if thats what you are looking for then I'd say look elsewhere. If you want a fun and active SG though with plenty of organised events look us up.

If you want more info or would be interested in joining please visit our forums here and post a message in the Please Sign Me Up forums and one of the leaders will sort you out with an invite.

    Cheers
    Tufts

    When's the next event?

I've just logged out after having a very saddening conversation with some people in Atlas AE.

Pre-MA I was able to organise a decent team for most missions, for the purposes of levelling.

Now 'everyone' seems to be in Atlas, doing ridiculous powerlevelling farms.

So a bit of restoration in the goodness of human nature is needed.

I've got far too many alts to mention here.

My current, most-played char is Infinity Paradox, Rad/Dark defender, level 36.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We normally have an event running for SG members every evening and generally 2 or 3 events at weekends.

If you'd be interested in joining us the best thing to do is register on our forums (were you can also sign up for SG events) and go from there. Link should be in my sig.

Some obvious differences between my build and yours, dont know if mines better or not but it functions well enough :P

A few of the differences between the builds as follows:

Fossilize - I only went with the 4 slots and the basilisks gaze set here for the recharge bonus. So its not maxed out for % values but with the amount of recharge I have its not a problem. It's always up when I need it (tbh I can just spame Fossilize and flares without much of a gap). So if you are looking to save some slots maybe just keep the 4 slots.

Flares - I out the entropic chaos set in for the recharge bonus. I find flares useful as its always up with the recharge I have and something to chip away at the enemies health with while blaze is recharging.

Stone Prison - I didnt take the immob powers at all. The AOE one just causes way to much agro, and the ST one is redundant when you can just hold something instead. Instead I went for Incinerate, its a nice ST melee attack (got a bit of a buff through the recent changes afaik as well) and a slight mix of melee/ranged attacks can be useful at times. Crushing Impact is also a nice IO set and will give 5% recharge for 5 pieces.

I've never had a problem with the range of fire breath, always seemed quite long to me anyway so if you are looking for more slots I'd consider taking the range IO out of fire breath and just keep the 5 posi blast set.

If you are aiming to go for recharge maybe consider slotting entropic choas or decimation into fire blast instead. That'll give you another 5% recharge (providing you dont have 5 5% sets already). Same thing for Blaze as well.

For animate stone the expediant reinforcement set is good. 6.25% for 4 slots so may be worth sticking that in.

I dont have stamina on my build, and even with the new changes dont think I need it. If you want to have more power picks then maybe consider dropping the fitness pool. If you are aiming for permadom, that along with consume from your secondary is enough to keep your end topped up. You also have either power sink or dark consumption from the patrons to help as well.

Re patrons - I like ghost widow soley for soul drain. Its a nice boost to your dmg. When soul drain and fiery embrace is up (provided you are in a large enough team to get enough enemies) you can still operate at around 250 - 300% dmg. I just spam combustion in the middle of mobs after stunning them with stalagmites

Finally, I've found the earth set a very good one for procs, I have quite a few in my build.

Voltanic gases is very good for procs due to how it works and summoning all the little psuedo pets with each then having a chance to proc.

Earth quake is also a good place for the achilles heel chance for -res IO.

If you have any questions about the build or character then contact me in game (@Tufty) or catch me on the Handies forums

  6. Re: World of Confusion

I'm currently playing a sonic/mental blaster. I've picked up WoC but rather than using it for the confuse aspect I was thinking of turning it into a psuedo damage aura by using procs.

It means loosing the bonuses from the purple set and mitigation from the smal confuse but instead you get the mitigation from everything being daed quicker

The power itself can be slotted with the following dmg procs:
    Eradication: Chance for Energy dmg
Scirocco's Dervish: Chance for Lethal dmg
    Obliteration: Chance for Smashing dmg
    Armageddon: Chance for Fire dmg
    Cacophony: Chance for Energy dmg
Malaise's Illusions: Chance for Psi dmg

Has anyone tried to use the power like this before? Something I'm definately considering doing when I get enough inf
  7. here's a question, what has buffalos/bisons got to do with discouraging words?

Just noticed the icon for the IO set for discouring words is this:
    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/w/images/a/...ging_Words.png

    Why the big hairy cow?

Maybe thats it, calling someone a big hairy cow could be seen as discouraging words I guess...
  8. And we did it!

MoSTF badge successfully gained for 8 Handy members. Well done to all involved

Just to correct a mistake in that earlier post, the prestige requirement per month is 20k and not 50k.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For anyone who may be put off joining because we have a prestige quota dont be!

I consider myself as a casual player and tend to only play for about 10hrs a week. When the quota was first introduced I was a bit put off and thought there was no way I'd be able to reach it but it really is an easy target to hit. From one TF alone you can get up to, or at least close to 20k prestige, and with TF's being run practically every day you'll be hitting target in no time! So if I can do it I'm sure others can

Oh and its 10k prestige for characters under 25, 20k for characters 25 and over

Another thing that is currently going on at the moment is the Handies attempt to do a MoSTF run. We had a dummy run at the weekend (people got the days mixed up ) which was quite successful and we only had 1 (well technically 2 but they were back to back with the same char) death! So hopefully we'll manage it in the next couple of weeks and can start again with a new set of alts/players.

We've got our great ITF race coming up soon, this time between the Young uns (Team Nappy Rash) and the Oldies (Team Zimmer frame).

    [/ QUOTE ]

And Team Nappy Rash won in a time of 1:16:50. Well done to the team for a great run (impressive time for a 5th diff run with no ghosting and defeating all ambushes etc). I'd like to say it was because of my superior organising and strategy making skills but we all know that would be bull****
  11. Well I seem to have a problem with the game at the moment and wondered if anyone else had been experiencing anything similar. Basically whenever I click/call some contacts before the new dialog window fully opens the game crashes and pc completely freezes - no sound, unable to alt tab etc to windows.

I had to reformat my hard drive a few weeks ago so afaik I have all the latest graphics drivers (using ATI Radeon 9600 on WinXP).

So this happened to anyone else. Anyone have any idea why this might be happening or how I can find out or how I can fix it.

    Thanks
    Tufts
  12. imo the whole idea of the stalker is the AS. Without it you'd be better off playing a brute and taking stealth/invis
  13. Dark Pit needs alot of slots to make it useful. Its accuracy is rubbish and has a long recharge. It will only affect minions aswell.

Shadowfall's best feature is that it gives resistance to psi damage which is very rare. If you are using superspeed on top of shaowfall you will be "invisible" in PvE. Without SS it offers a bit of stealth.

Howling Twilight. Have you considered using this as more than jsut a rez? Its an autohit power that will disorientate minions, plus damage, debuff accuracy and debuff recharge. It is more than just a rez power and can be used as an effective debuff.

Both shadowfall and howling twilight are worth taking at some point so either one of those

    D3 Build

Nothing particularly wrong with the build, some small changes I'd make:

I don't really think you need EndRdx or Rec in the first two blast attacks. They cycle fairly quickly (even more so if you are using hasten) and you will always have something to do, be it fearing a mob, holding a runaway or healing etc. I'd put those 4 slots else where. Maybe a recharge in Twilight Grasp?

Tar patch I'd always go with 3 recharge then slows to suite. It doesn't really need any as you can always keep the mobs in place with Tentacles.

Fearsome stare is worth 12 slots, so putting another one in there wouldn't be a bad choice. I'd probably go for another recharge but a ToHit Debuff or another fear wouldn't be bad.

I'd deffinately slot up Tactics, it offers a really good buff for defenders. Try and fit 3 tohit buffs in there. You'd be able to comfortable (in PvE) function with only 1 accuracy in powers like fearsom stare and twilight grasp.

Planner must be wrong (or I don't know what I'm talking about) but Dark Servant doesn't use any fear powers, so maybe swap that fear enhc for a hold.

I'd also consider swapping vengeance for Petrifying Gaze. If things are going well you wont have any use for vengeance but there will always be a use for PG.

If you want any more advice then just ask. Happy to help out or show you things in game if needed

    Black hole

Never been a fan of it. I have said before I can see it having its uses as a panic button though. The problem is all the other powers from Dark Miasma set are worth taking so its always at the bottom of the list for me simple because it has a long recharge, costs a fair bit of end and doesnt last very long. So in my opinion it really is only useful as a panic button when the brown stuff hits the fan.
  18. Welcome to CoH

As most people have pointed out the server populations are very much even so you won't be at a disadvantage by choosing either.

The union forum does have more posts simple becuase of 2 threads, the Galaxy Girl thread (which is for the RP'ers) and a thread called Rangers AWAY! which is basically were a section of the union community, which we call ourselves the 1AT cos its a selection of SGs where all members are 1 archetype only, used to post. We now have our own forums (see sig) though so many of the members no longer visit here that often :P

Anyway hope you enjoy your time here. If you choose union then perhaps we will meet sometime
  19. It is a great power and I'd recommend picking it up asap to anyone. It will keep your team alive with the knockdown and disorient. Especially useful if you don't intend on being perma GA, obviously without granite you wont be able to take as much dmg so it will just add to your survivability.

AM doesn't really need too many End Reducs. Can you slot it with Enddrn (or End mod as they are now) to provide some extra pre-stamina Endurance boosting?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    EndRec = end recovery.

Instead of endrec and enddrn an up to date planner should jsut have them as endmods.

The only thing I can really say about your build is that if you intend to PvP you need at least 2 accuracy and or tactics in your powers so I'd slot up your attacks a bit more if you can.
