Fault or hurl boulder?

Right, I been playin my stone/stone brute for a while now (lvl 33 as im writin this) and thusfar I love him. I took hurl boulder at 26 to have another attack and cause of the -fly aspect. However, it's becoming quite a disappointment these days. When I use it, the animation time is so horridly long my target often is dead before it finishes the animation. The -fly doesnt always knock a flying foe down and the damage is pants to say the least.

What I'm planning is, is in the next respec get rid of hurl boulder and pick fault instead. First didnt think it was that useful doing 0 damage and only knockdown/stun (iirc) and knowing most non-troller powers that apply a mez status it often is a weak one.

However, now I got tremor I found what a nice crowd-control power it may be, especially as I dont plan to be a perma-granite build, I like my damage/recharge too much . Now for the runners i used hurl boulder for, seeing the animation time was so long they often ran far enough by the time I threw the thing at em, so it was no use to keep em near me. Also got TP foe and think thats a bit better to keep em in check although it has a slow recharge and seems to miss a fair bit.

My question thus is, does anybody have fault and can comment on it? Mainly is the animation time and effect feasible to swap it for hurl boulder?

Oh, little extra info, I team alot with a fire/kin corrupter, so end cost / recharge aint that big of a prob most of the times

Fault is awesome. Its animation is about 1s (think foot stomp), it has a very high chance to knockdown and 100% chance to disorient minions. The disorient doesn't last very long, maybe about 7-8s base on even cons, but fault has a fast recharge.

7-8s is long enough as if I hear you right I can alternate tremor and fault to keep em stunned and knocked down for a while

still remains the question is it worth sacrificing the boulder for it?

It is a great power and I'd recommend picking it up asap to anyone. It will keep your team alive with the knockdown and disorient. Especially useful if you don't intend on being perma GA, obviously without granite you wont be able to take as much dmg so it will just add to your survivability.
