first of welcome to the game hope you enjoy yourself while your here.
although union is the unofficial the roleplaying server alot of the people on the server just get on with it and have fun well most of the time.
the game itself is easy enuff to pic up and if you get stuck just shout out theres normaly a helpful gamer about able to give advice
once your settled and start looking for a group you can find most of the established villian super groups at this thread SuperVillain Groups Recruitment Corner - Union on union villians the list a few detail on the group and what they get up to. there was sometihng similar for the heros side but havent seen it in a while.

As said before, CoH is pretty easy to get into, and seeing you chose union as it is the unofficial RP server, I presume you are into RP? If not, im sorry . If you want to roleplay, there is a meeting in Galaxy City under Galaxy Girl (big statue near the trainer Back Alley Brawler) at 9pm GMT, where roleplayers meet.
As for help, well the only tip I can give you, enjoy the game to its fullest, and dont take [censored] from anyone as long as YOU enjoy the game . If you get stuck, send a message to the help channel, to do this just precede your message with /h. For instance "/h hi, im stuck in XXX, can somebody help?". If im on, feel free to send a tell to my global @stagefright (to do so, type /t @stagefright, <msg>. the , is very important, dont forget it 
) and I'll see if I can be of any assistance .
Anyway, im ramblin now, so enjoy the game to its fullest, and maybe we'll see you around as one of those many illustrous characters out there )

Well I'm a dad and usually play controllers... I guess I feel at least I'm somewhat in control when I'm in Paragon

Let`s put it this way: a dad ideally is a controller. If the "controlling" part fails then he better be a tank. And if finally also the tanking fails, well, wife will put on our head a lot of experience debt...

Here I am.
A new guy in. I`m Big None. I`m in COH because I want to play. A game.
I`m a grown up child of 38, with a wife and 2 sons and I love gaming. And I love online gaming. The problem is that most of the actual mmorpgs around are more and more becoming too much similar to a work.
I work every day, and I`m not used to pay for it.
I`ve read a lot of nice things about COH/COV and I decided to give it a go.
Bought both and so I`m in.
I started as a tank. And I`m Big None.
I choosed Union because I read about it being the unofficial rp server, and while I`m not really an hardcore player, I enjoy so much gaming that I often forget I`m playing a game.
Why I`m writing all of this ? I don`t know.
I`m a polite guy, so I figured out I had to present myself.
And maybe in the future I`d ask to join some nice SuperGroup.

And if anyone has suggestions to a new guy on your server, well, I`d appreciate.
