Haven't looked at these forums for a week and I miss something like this...

If I can get Co* to run even remotely smoothish I'll be back online with Soundstorm.

I'm afraid I won't be coming for a while, not untill my hardware problems are fixed. Also, my time card is about to expire and I'm not renewing it untill my comp works properly again .

I'm sorry I wasn't able to come online wednesday but my pc gave up on me and I only got it working again today. I completly forgot to post I couldn't make it .

That's what I went with my storm defender . Only low level still so I can't really give any advice on how it works.

To be honest I think energy's knockback provides better synergy then elecs end drain, yet that is one of the most popular secondaries for storm.

I was wondering if everyone could post which char(s?) they will be playing in here.

Seriously considering rerolling Pyres from fire/Psy to Fire/Fire but I don't know the team make up at all really. If there are already several F/F around I will probably hold of rerollin or even turn up wednesday with something completly different (in teams like this I find alittle difference in powersets will work best and will keep players interested).

I can stack over -150% resistance with my two blasts and sonic siphon, which renders granite tanks useless. Yay, another sonic! My defender is only lvl 31 so just sirens call for me but it's great every time I could get a team going. The last two times I entered sirens the heroes were outnumbered and villains were waiting outside of drone range. After I got my toggles up and my bubbles passed around we could easily beat whole packs of villains. Most of their fire was concentrating on scrappers and tankers while we went for the target of which I debuffed his resistance.

Also, it's great fun seeing all those one trick pony's (Bu + As + Et) trying to wrap their head around the fact they only knocked of half of my hp

It's also one of the most under appreciated sets tho. "Wow, these IR goggles are really great" did the blaster say, after she was running around with clarity for the past minute...

I also love kinetics but I feel it's better suited for a controller...*runs* (don't shoot me !!)

Only other set I have experience with is empathy tho so I can't really say anything about the other sets.

In the end I couldn't make it at all , hope you guys had fun. I'll level Pyres upto lvl 7(ish) before next wednesday.

Sunday would work fine for me, unfortunatly I can't make it on thursday- nor monday evening. If the rest of the team is kinda dead set on thursday I'll give my spot to a runner up and join you guys on the rare thursdays I can come

Yeah those sets sound awesome . Would be cool to see some new things implemented (the toggle hold, the knock forward etc)

I like it, works fairly well when your enemies are struggling to get of your ice patch. Hefty end drain.

However, shiver is sheer gold imho. The slow is very big and combined with either blizzard or ice storm (note: not both together, that's overkill ) it works wonders. Add frost breath and you've just become an AoE blaster . Maybe not as good as Fire/* and sometimes alittle situtional (slow resitant mobs are annoying) but fun none the less.

I'm dead set on ninja blade for my new alt, however I'm not to sure about the secondary. Both Dark Armour and Ninjitsu would fit concept-wise but I can't decide.
(BTW, this will be mostly PvE, I'll take a peek in the PvP zones but mainly PvE for now.)

Will be mostly a scrapping character.
So far I figured:

Dark Armour:
-Hide, Shadow Dweller and Divine Avalanche should make for some decent defence, next to it's resistance toggles???
-Has CoF and OG which should make this char more of a jack of all trades.
-Breaks the mold of 'teh n1nja!!!2' a bit.
-Res based, should give it some survivability in RV

Ninjitsu:
-Defence, should be good when combined with Divine Avalanche.
-A more reliable self heal then Dark Armour.
-Also has 'gadget' powers, tho I wouldn't know which are really useful
-A god-mode power. Would be helpful agains't EBs/AVs.

Both sound like fun to me

I'd love to hear from Dark Armour users how they preform. Haven't seen all to many of these yet...

No, it's one of 3 single target blasts and imho should be 6 slotted. An Ice/Ice blaster doesn't have a very strong attack chain if you prefer fighting at range and this is a great attack to keep cycling.

Personal taste. I have it and like it alot, tho I use it more as a finisher. It's damage is not to be laughed at (between Ice blast and Bitter Ice blast I think)

It's great if you want to hold that pesky boss who just withstood your intial freeze ray, Í rather go into melee and use freezing touch then stay at range and use BFR.

Hasten, Never thought of that before but it would help with recharge times so good call ill try to slot that in the only reason i didnt before was because i took tp pool power instead because fly was slow nice to have a back up but with swift helping fly now who knows.

I personally don't have it but it could be used to speed up your single target chain in PvP.

Chilling Embrace, I did have this power but dropped it not sure how good it was really coz I had to be close to them and as I said before getting close ment my death since I team in big teams alot I tend to hide behind the tank

I don't like CE either, yet I'm in melee range constantly , it has it's uses but as a Ice/Ice blaster there are safer ways to grind your enemies to a slow halt.

I got my lvl 30 sonic/sonic upto lvl 30 in a regular 8-man defender team. Unfortunatly the teamup went belly-up and I've been in a few PuGs with him. So far, team survivability gets pretty damn good but just about no one noticed that was due to the sonic bubbles. The damage my defender could produce was pretty impressive tho, especially shout after a few weaker attacks, stacking the -res.

I'll also say that both defense and resistance are better then only one of them. In the 8-man def team, the defense was awesome but once an attack did get threw hardly anyone's green bar moved. Untill we got cocky and our empathy friend had his hands full again .
