CoH and CoV Roleplayers wanted
Non Galaxy Girl random RPer here, if I can help then I'd love to... I immerse in the game without specific role play, when I team with certain players then roleplaying kicks in in funny ways.
sorry for OT, thanks for the explanation.
Short answer. Yes I am interested. And have also played pen and paper RPG's for almost 25 years. (Yes, I rolled my first D20 in January 1980.). And I assume more from my group would like to attend.
Long answer: I am part of group of people who actually role play on the Defiant server (yes, Defiant). We started out by creating a slightly shady but on the edge good looking company called Credo Radix. We then created heroes independently but all attached to the company and then met inside the Paragon City Hall were we had as a starting point for all sessions until we got our base. If you are on Defiant you might have seen us having our meetings on the carpet in the left wing of the building. All heroes belongs the Credo Radix RT1 supergroup. RT1 stands for Response Team One.
We try to meet about once or twice each fortnight were we stay in character through out the session and do some real role playing. Not only do we work our way through the ordinary missions. We also hang out in our base, do some exploring and every now and then an anonymous lady from the company shows up and give us extra missions. Since they are not ordinary missions we only get paid in influence from her by completing them. Once we had to attach electronic devices to phone boxes in Hollows and later find out if the sewer system actually had a connection between Atlas Park and Steel Canyon.
With the release of CoV we are talking about creating a villain group also sponsored by the corporation, not officially though.
Theres also a rough webpage with our characters and some background info on the corporation. Hopefully the webpage will be freshened up in the future so that we can show it outside the group.
And I (and most of the group) have played role playing games for a long time. I started out with AD&D and Traveller, was a huge fan of Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia and Shadowrun. Tried some World of Darkness and other stuff but is still faithful to D&D (now with 3.5).
Im even part of a game design group called Gigantoskop and so far weve released three games (board and card).
Oh, and were all from Sweden.

Just to say, I'd be more than happy to be interviewed, or at the very least, stand in the corner smoking away

Kind of a shame some of the 'older' roleplayers have left. Though Brighteyes is back and Aeronaut is still around. They'd give a different perspective than the GG crowd.

Ooops, apologies. I was sleepy after work and posted in a rush, sorry RW I did not notice that part of your post, though I need to point out that my comment was targetted towards Silent edge.

I'd recommend Doulos for his perspective on building up backstory and history for Supergroups to create greater ingame immersion.
I can also lend my perspective on roleplaying someone with a razor sharp wit and rock hard tasty abs, washerboard style. Because it's so much like real life, no really.
I'm sorry if I came across as meaning that I didn't think there are Rpers who don't GG - I meant more that I didn't know any by name.

I think you might, they just slipped your mind.
Me for one, and Doc Ego for another example.

Always happy to promote RP; and I'm sure I can bully some others in the SG's
Does Doc Ego still play the game atall?
Well, he was at GG a week or so ago, I think.

A major British PC games magazine is interested in doing an article celebrating and promoting the roleplaying aspect of City of Heroes and City of Villains, as they themselves have come across more roleplaying in our games than in most other MMOs.

... I have yet to see a non-RPer on my WoW server.
Edit: Added quote.

Really? I saw nothing but OOC yells, /s chat and so on in places such as Orgrimmar. Roleplay seemed to be quite a minority for Roleplay servers.

Yes, he is in one of the CoV SG I belong in, and he has a SG in CoV and CoH of his own.

Maybe it's a Horde thing?
But really you never really get non-RP in Local or Yell, atleast on Defias Brotherhood.
World of Jackcraft.
Well I am more then willing to answer a few questions, I personally am not one of the hardcore rp'ers here but if they need an opinion I am more then willing to give it.

Toxic Glow: I was tryin' ta teach her not ta refer ta herself in the third person, an it backfired
Just give the guys a game account for an evening, they can come round to GG and we'll give them an IC interview ;-P
Hey
If there's any more places avalible I'd love to get Cogs in on the action. I'm well up for helping any way I can.
As long as I didn't miss it
Darn my missing the forums >.<
Well, assuming it's not too late, why the hell not. In an RP-SG right now and I suppose it wouldn't be too much trouble answering questions. Considering I bought CoH/CoV for just Roleplaying it definately wouldn't be too much effort when I think about it. After a few years of D&D it's hard to live without RP, heh.
Great idea count me in
Ooooooooooooooooooh I love role-playing. It's so fun! You can be the hero/villain you always wanted to be. Plus you if you're on COV you can be snappy, pushy, mean , impatient etc. it's so fun. Role-Playing is a plus for me!
CoH char: Moonstryke (Scrapper)
CoC char: Maiden Of Darkness (???????)<---haven't made her

I'd be interested.
My CoH account is no longer active, but I can be found around CoV either kissing the ground after being defeated in Sharkhead Isle, or else...um...eh, kissing the ground.
And... Sure, I'm in.
Slightly OT, but here goes.
GG is _mostly_ freeform persistant character RP, in that most people will be just playing their characters. That said, there's normally at least one person GM'ing in effect. Recent examples have been the Orbis Conspiracy and Blood and Bone. The individual groups (Cirque, GoD and Vigil) often have a member acting as GM and running plots mainly aimed at the group too.
I've never yet, bar the occasional end of plot mission where the GM has basically taken a mission and tried to desperately fudge it to fit with a lot of imagination, seen a GM'd mission. The lack of adaptability and knowing where everything is tends to cause problems. I have been on IC missions that were chosen so that the objective of the mission was the same both IC and OC, normally infiltrating bases and finding computer records.
