Count me in, I am sure we can get a few of the others in on this as well. The GG crowd, amongst many others, play together on a regular basis. I am certain that like Z and me, they will be game to do this.
Also, I have a suspicion that the Precision Rangers might be game, and Statis' and Silver Weasel's lot. :-) (Keep forgetting your SG's name... sowwy :s)

I have to say I'm amazed they found more RP in CoX than other MMOs. In a couple of days playing WoW I found more, though the two games could constitute the best of the bunch, a slightly worrying thought, and yet really cool as well.
Kind of a shame some of the 'older' roleplayers have left. Though Brighteyes is back and Aeronaut is still around. They'd give a different perspective than the GG crowd.

I think Life line/Corten/Lylyth (Azomas on the boards) does a little RP, but I'm not sure if he does any on CoH/V. And its hardly my job to put him up for it anyway

No offence but I've seen less RPing in this MMOG then any of the other four MMOGs I've tried over the years, and before anyone jumps the gun this is not in any way or form an attack on any group of RPers and certainly not on the folks of GG, who should remember that they are not the only RPers around.

Right, well that's the last time I suggest you as someone it would be good to interview as another persepective on the Union RP scene. (Please read the other posts in the thread before replying, then you'll see all the GGers mentioning all the other groups we know who roleplay and won't come off looking so insular yourself.)
I'd have to say, my own view on RP in CoH wouldn't exactly be stunning. We roleplay despite the game, not because of it. I remain fundamentally amazed that this magazine thinks CoH has a good RP level and it makes me wonder just how bad it is in other games.
FFM, you don't know Brighteyes, but he used to come to GG regularly. There were creative differences. He knows it's not for him. As I keep saying, that's fine, GG isn't for everyone, not even me at times.

I've ben a bit hit and miss on CoH recently but I'm in if you need another voice.
I agree with Birdy though, a lot of us RP in CoH because we like the idea of Heroic RP, but we usually have to fight the system all the way. It might not look good on CoH...
I think this will be a very interesting thing to take part in. For a few reasons.
For a start, it's a great opportunity to promote roleplaying in the game, regardless of which server or group of roleplayers we're with.
Secondly, it will allow us to voice some of our own opinions (hopefully in a mature and respectable manner! ), and concerns about roleplaying content and opportunity in the game.
Most importantly, the fact that roleplaying in CoH is being highlighted like this will hopefully show that it is of interest to a larger than previously believed number of people. If it goes well, it may lead on to the addition of more roleplaying content and tools to the game. But thatis just my optimism showing. I still think it's worth bearing in mind that this is more than just a chance for us to go "yeah, roleplaying's great, my character's cool!"

I have been a tabletop roleplayer for going on 20 years now (I can't believe it has been that long) and it is one of the most entertaining hobbies I have had. I dislike RPG computer games because there is not enough roleplay in it.
I was interested at first in the roleplaying side of CoH but I just don't get it. For me the Games Master is the Devs who create the content and I just play my character in game when i do missions.
If I go to GG are there people there who GM and play alts as npc's? Or is it just the interaction that I would do with another player who was obviously talking in character during a mission.

A major British PC games magazine is interested in doing an article celebrating and promoting the roleplaying aspect of City of Heroes and City of Villains, as they themselves have come across more roleplaying in our games than in most other MMOs.
As part of this, they'd like to interview some players to ask them about their experiences in the game and what they enjoy about roleplaying.
If you'd be interested, please post here and let us know. Assuming the article goes ahead, we'll contact some of you to get your details to pass onto the magazine.
Ideally, we're looking for groups who roleplay together frequently, whether as part of a roleplaying Supergroup or on a more informal basis - so if there are a bunch of you who'd like to take part and be interviewed together, please let us know.
