MA's nice and fast, but I still prefer the broadsword for my Scrappers. Nice, powerful, intimidating and does it's best to really lay into people. Handy for readjusting those slightly against-the-odds fights (say, twenty or so to one?)

BS ALWAYS FTW! Broadsword is totally fab, simply because even when an enemy has high smashing or lethal Dam Res we can still do alot of damage. I also love it when a Behemoth Overlord uses healing flames, but you still take them down with one Head Splitter! Seriously, anyone that's unsure of which scrapper primary to take simply MUST go for Broadsword!

I've not tried any other Primary but I can say MA is a lot of fun.

MA has very quick activations and short recharges meaning more criticals.
The only problem is that there are too many useful powers to take. Warriors challenge is the only not so great power IMHO.

Crippling Axe Kick just got it's damage increased significantly so I probably respec that one in too and drop Storm Kick..

I currently have TK, SK, CK, EC, DT , Focus Chi (+ Laser Beam Eyes!)
I used to play in the past with just TK ,SK, CK and they cycled fast enough but this was a bit dull.

Spines are the best scrapper primary and everyone knows it...

They do less damage than the others and draw much more aggro but look at the fun you can have with them. What other primary can get the attention of a whle mob?

I also have a DM scrapper, fun with variations (end/health regen powers, fear)

At the end of the day each to his own, BS & Katana do most damage, MA is single target tastic, DM & Spines have something a little different.

The boost MA got with i6 makes it a very good primary in pvp. Crane kick is one of the best attacks in the game because the activation time is so short.

Spines is still probably the best, but with the lowered damage BS and MA are catching up. MA and BS have more burst damage than spines back they still lack the range and -fly.

hmmm was looking at the brawl indexes on CoH planner and ripper has a higher brawl index than golden dragonfly, and has the 2nd highest damage next to BS for the "main damage" moves eg, eviscerate, golden dragonfly,eagles claw, and midnight grasp :S spines also has the tox less resisted :P spines just lacks the high chance of criticals in the high damge atacks :P

DM/DA FTW! I've stood against enemies longer than some tanks, and out damaged other scrappers on my team untill they went: "booohoo what is that your using!" and I go: "It's shadowmaul and it ownzorz!"

Great Power sets, with lots of damage, shields, regeneration and STEALTH! What else can you possibly need!

Style, class and most importantly looking really good in a fight. I am afraid DM/DA fails on all those points.

Even if it didn't, its claimed uberness only means that it takes less skill to play effectively than Martial Arts. The weakest warrior is the one with the strongest weapon.

Mind you that all DM/DA skills DO look good, have some awesome animations to go with them and the sounds of the shilds aren't as annoying as many others :P

And it does take skill to play, as you need to do it right, placement as a DM scrapper is by far the most important of all! Place yourself wrongly and you will loose your advantage.

dm scrapper gets close i flee, he's already struck shadow maul, im running away still getting hit with loads of damage then faceplant repeat that 10 times and I realise why my arena rating is so low

Any/Regen was always best (especially Spines) but from I3 - 6 & ED nerfing, it's too close to tell now

agreed spines is the best depending on what secondary u choose now i have a MA/regen scrapper which is my highest scrapper n is one of the best type of scrappers ive seen

but spines/dark is far better without any discussion

but as good as spines/dark is MA/regen is alot more fun to use which is what i look 4 most in a scrapper cos cmon lets face it no AT is as fun to use as a blaster.

From my limited MA experience in PvE, it is a fast, fun powerset.. maybe not the best primary for a scrapper, but pretty close. In PvP, MA/* also has the advantage of a high number of status effects (or mezzes, what ever you want to call them). Dealing a good ammount of damage in a short space of time and getting regular disorients and KB/KD sounds like a win-win deal to me.

Never low on end, and always regen:ing health. Siphon Life is a great little attack.

Oh... and Shadow Maul just rocks. :-)

Broadsword or Dark Melee would have higher damage output but I'd say MA and Spines can really stick it to you with status effects and in the case of spines range enough to get through your steenkin' hurricane. Persoanlly I enjoy using tp foe and queueing up a cobra strike to go with it so I can tp hapless blasters in Warburg into a stun to follow up with Eagle's Claw which is a decent alpha strike and additional stun.
