I am getting down to the last few day jobs for some of my older toons that dont get much playtime. I was wondering if the devs are going to give us more day jobs in the future?

Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller
Legendary Sannin Ninja/Pain Mastermind
Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind
Ninja Ryukenden Kat/WP Scrapper
Hellish Thoughts Fire/PSI Dominator

Thank You Devs for Merits!!!!

The only things I could really think of to add would be more Day Jobs similar to the Crey Employee one, but for each villain group that has a spawn zone. So heroes could spend their days infiltrating the Skulls in Perez Park, stuff like that.

I got nothin :P

I'd bet good money that there will be day jobs associated with Going Rogue.

And for a while things were cold,
They were scared down in their holes
The forest that once was green
Was colored black by those killing machines

Just use the accolades, which ogten have great bonuses, particularly profiteer.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

im still bugging for a clergy day job and adding a non-denominational chapel to some part of paragon and rogue.

i figure keeping it general allows people to play it as they want, whether they are priests, rabbis, wiccans/witches or Buddhist monks.

So you're aware that generally American "non-denominational chapels" bear no resemblance to non-Christian architectural and artistic motifs, right? I've seen a few exceptions, but most of them are just Christian chapels with the crosses taken down.

The only chapel in this game I can think of is Orenbaga maps.

Still waiting for my Barista day job.

They really need to get on this horrible oversight!

Man, I hope not. There's so many already for all my alts to keep up with and run around. I had to make stupid chart for all my characters. Now that's just sad. More day jobs will make me even more neurotic and nerdy. Please think of the obesessive compulsive!

eh, its a day job location you stand next to to get a badge. Last i checked dark astoria did not remind me of any funeral home i have been to, yet i get a mortician badge for twiddling my thumbs there for a few days. Frankly it would be preferable for people to get a little mroe relaxed and perhaps we could have a church, a synagogue, a mosque, a buddhist temple and a wiccan set of standing stones, but im not counting on people online to be that open minded. the non-denom chapel is largely a compromise, similar to the way colleges and hospitals handle the situation.

I think rather than risk anyone who is overly religious complaining about it, it's better not to have any modern-day religion icons in the game at all. Better to just stick to fictional ones like what the Circle of Thorns follow.

the overly religous people who are playing a game with magic origins, missions where you protect pagan deities, fight with a godlike extra dimensional entity, or (in cov) consort with demons and commit acts of terrorism? and lets not forget that this game regularly hosts large GLBT events. I'd like to think that i'm overly religious and have yet to be annoyed by it, in fact i like it because it means we have a diverse and interesting player base and a far ranging story, so i think that complaint may rely on a unfortunate stereotype(and may work for EA's marketing branch :P ) rather than an accurate snapshot of a existing coh demographic. do we really have that many people of that degree of offense taking are still playing the game? and as i said, a nondescript, non-enterable "chapel" would cover the issue with minimal specificity to offend.

All of which are considered fictional, which is why it doesn't offend anyone (hopefully... never seen anyone complain about the religion CoT follow or the shadow shard lore yet, haha).

Unfortunately, what you may deem inoffensive may be offensive to other religions. You want a chapel, people start demanding mosques or kingdom halls or churches or whatnot, etc. :3

And as for religious folk, remember that majority of player base is presumably from the US, and over 75% of US population according to some surveys (I'll PM links to you if you require proof) believe in God. So... better not to risk it, really.

someone petition the devs to give us a snapshot of religious philosophy and theology in the coh universe because i imagine magic and obvious divine intervention would require new and interesting belief structures

This game doesn't even have a "newspaper reporter" Day Job for probable fear of being too close a reference to Superman. With that kind of safe-playing conservatism is there really any surprise that they would not touch a religious oriented Day Job (or any real life religious anything) with a ten foot pole?

The Ouroboros folks are kind of already a pseudo-religious group who kinda-sorta worship their time travel "higher purpose". Their main building in their zone is even cathedral-like. Maybe Chronologist is the religious badge rian_frostdrake is seeking.

Lets see...

In no order.

Reporter(Redo building heroside, use SPDR villain side)
Trashperson(Garbage piles)
Fire Rescue/Arsonist(Buildings in steel/Fires in Mercy)
TV personality(Radio Towers?)
CEO(Large imposing buildings)
Mechanic(Redo some buildings)
Store Owner(Stores)
Author(?)
Musician(?)
Dancer(?)
Artist(?)
Gardner(Parks?)
Wanderer(?)
Mailperson(Mail boxes?)
Magic-User(?)
Psychologist/Lunatic(outside hospitals?)
Military Personal(Vanguard warehouses?)
Mage Hunter(CoT buildings around the game)
Robot Smasher(Malta bases)
Cultist(?)
D.A.T.A. Researcher/Mad Scientist(DATA labs in Galaxy/AP or... not sure)

Maybe let you join villain groups by leaving day jobs in areas where they hang out a lot. Longbow/CoT/etc. Or "hunter" versions for heroes?

This game is FAR too PC for that.

I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.

Not sure if I should mention this for fear of pointing out the obvious but all religions are pretty much fictional.

There is a great plot point about the Rikti having removed all religion from their world and thus all magic, while the regular CoH world hasn't, and retains its magic. Apparently places of worship aren't as important in the CoHverse as in the real world.

If it wasn't for some arcs specifically mentioning the Knights Templar and some group's connections to the Vatican I would imagine that on CoH Earth people are worshipping the entities Joule, Grey, etc, rather than any gods we recognize. In fact it seems entirely likely that the Freedom Phalanx is subject to just as much worship as any other pantheon. Perhaps the greek pantheon is getting a revival in the CoH-verse, or maybe it never went out of style.
