The Dev's will have to be very careful with the implementation of this feature, it could well result in a situation where 'Soloing with the spawns up' could be more rewarding that teaming, which would serve as a dis-incentive to team, which would be bad.

I think it's important to consider that teaming has always been a purely volunteery element. People who really don't want to team won't under any circumstances. Please don't argue that it's an MMO and teaming is important. That isn't the point. The point is there will always be people who have no interest in teaming for personal reasons. Those people are important too and I applaud the devs for doing something for that group. I for one don't want to team with somebody that is only doing it because they feel the game forces them to, because more often then not they make for a lousy teammate. It's a win/win as far as I'm concerned.

No player should have to ask themsleves: "Do I sacrifice my rewards to play with my friends? or do I sacrifice playing with my friends for better rewards?"

I'm not saying that this feature 'Should Not Be Implemented and if it is: dooooommm'. In an ideal world (game? game world?) it would be a zero-sum; but if the Deves errr on one side or the other I would encorrage them to continue in the same vane as they always have, and err - pro-team (thou by as little as possible after all).

I think there is confusion between those that want bcast only for lft or hot catgirl ERP and those that want to stop playing with themselves..or by themselves whatever. The latter group will hate this. They still wont be able to stand on the corner and get picked up(by a team). The former will love it, the farmers didnt like having to search for fillers any more than you liked having them search.

I would like to point out that not all spines scrappers were made for farming. Recently re-re-re-made a spines scrapper just because I never got anywhere when I made them in the past. Once it hits 50 (from playing the game normally) it will probably collect a bit of dust like my other 50s.

they get the same drops as teams, they just don't have to split them.

Teams already get an XP subsidy, now they need a drop subsidy as well?

Not only that, but it also only discourages teaming for retardedly-strong characters. I.E., definitely not the first thirty levels or so. Totally fine by me, because for most of the game a single character can't survive mondo-big spawns. At endgame, who cares?

I'm actually totally for this awesome option. Hopefully the new difficulty interface will make it easier for players to tell which difficulty setting they're on. I'm sick of explaining the whole Diff 2 is +1 spawnsize and weighted towards +1 level, diff 3 is +1-2 level but default spawn size blah blah blah oh and I forget what "relentless" means. What number was Vicious again?
"Set diff to unyielding" is just plain more obfuscating than "Set diff to +1 lv +1 spawn"

It has to do with what the devs want to see. If they like lots of solo'ing, then no. If they want to encourage teams, then yes. All depends on what kind of game posi wants to see.

This. Plus the fact that the annoying spamming will go away, and that I'll be able to take myself off of hide without being bombarded by "fill?" and "pad plz" and "farm?" tells that, while only really bad on Freedumb, are still very annoying. Add to that the extreme lessening of blind invites that will occur, and I'm going to be a very happy hero come I16.

'Tis a wonderful idea that has very few flaws, imo.

This, of course, would be exactly what a farmer would suggest. Just for the exp bonus.

However, IF the devs have truly decided "If we can't beat them...join them" in regard to farming, then they may as well do what you suggest.

Truthfully, I'm a farmer at times...but I have to say...I'm now sick of it. Back when it was harder to get on farm teams, it seems more controlled. Now that it's so easy, it happens so much it's damaging the game. And that's the simple truth.

In all honesty though, once the school start up again, I suspect we'll see a drop in the farming.

More options is better. The way I see it, farmers will always farm... but now they'll be able to do so without bothering non-farmers (no more fill requests! Yay!). More importantly, people looking for a challenge will be able to get it more easily. After all, most heavily IO'ed builds can handle almost any normal mission on any difficulty setting... and some can do so for an 8-man spawn. But a +4 level 8-man spawn? Even the multi-billion inf Scrapper and Brute builds should be able to find a challenge there...

Wrong. I consider myself pretty unbiased on the issue, since I do farm, but I also understand the damage it causes to the game overall.

Rampant farming DOES cause a lot of damage to the game. If you have half a brain and understand this game, you can see that.

The "Veteran Elite"...hmmmn...I guess I would fall into that category too, since I've been playing since beta and my main has over 400 Badges (which shows I've actually leveled him the right way).

My personal view is this...I can understand someone wanting to farm if they need a 50 to unlock the epic archetypes. THAT I can understand.

I can even, sort of, understand why students want to farm because they have what? 2-3 months of quality game time before they either must leave the game or will have more limited access. I don't like it, but I understand it.

But I don't thing players should only farm. I think their first or second toon should be leveled without farming, so that they learn the ropes of the game properly, the way it was intended.

For example:
My first toon was an empath defender. At first, while experiementing in beta with him, I sort of liked him. Soloing was hard though (this was before farming).

Then I started my main, American Angel, as a Invulnerable/Super Strength tank. I started him in the three days before the game launch, when the beta testers were allowed to get in before everyone else. I eventually played him to lvl 17. This is back when levelling was a lot harder.

I then deleted him and rerolled him as a MA/Regen Scrapper...and never looked back.

He's completed nearly every story arc. He missed some though...because he out levelled them (we didn't have Ouroboros or the ability to turn off EXP back then).

About a month ago, I created a new toon...American Archangel. With him, I level, turn off exp, work through ALL contacts in all zones, then turn on exp again, and repeat.

My goal with him is to have every single contact worked through. It'll take time, but out of the dozen toons I have on blue side, I can handle it.

To be honest...it's been fun. I've gotten to revisit some old missions, but I've realized there is a lot of content I've missed...content that is not available through Ouroboros.

I would recommend this for anyone...to have one toon set aside to do things the long hard way...to work through every arc, whether a book misison or not...to unlock all the TFs with too.

Make a commitment to NOT farm that toon, and turn off exp whenever needed to avoid out leveling contacts.

Sounds like a grind? It's actually more fun than I've had in a long time.

How will this be any different than finding full teams with max difficulty to do farming? Now people can do it solo, but ... So what? It actually means less loot over all if they do it with fewer players... Unless of course they team up with more then it'd be just like a normal farm.. They'd still only get to do spawns set for up to 8 man teams and then play them.

I don't know why everyone is acting like this is a golden ticket for farmers. All it really does is eliminate the need to pad which they were doing anyway so they still get to do what they want without annoying the rest of us.

XP per mob- 54 bosses. XP per min is probably 51 LTs as you go through them much faster, maybe 52s if you're especially bursty.
