To nuke or not to nuke?
Don't take that tone with me young lady. You know why.
... oh, man, that wasn't even MY father I was channeling there. It was Bill Cosby or someone.
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
I would put Thunderous Blast in there too. They might not be stunned or held but running around without any Endurance is even better.
I guess challenging is relative. I don't consider dying during mishs makes the mish challenging. It just means failure. I prefer to think of challenging as those battles where I almost bought it but still managed to get through it conscious, not being woken up in a hospital bed.
Nukes are nice. Generally, I wait just long enough for the tank (or acceptable tank-like substitute, can be me) to grab aggro in an acceptable manner before initiating nuke sequence on a blaster, but I nuke freely and as a lead with my /sonic defender. She doesn't necessarily kill most things, but she will stun the crap out of 'em, debuff 'em, and can quickly recharge herself before exiting the staggering mob.

lastly if ur a blaster and u dont have all ur debt badges bye lvl 40 your obviusly ned to switch to a controller cus thier the ones that sit back and hide like cowards.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think so. Your logic (or lack of) has a gaping hole in it.
My very first 50 was a fire/fire/flame blaster, and he didn't get his last debt badge until well after 50, and I loaded up close-range to pb aoe's, like fire-breath, fire sword circle, and then consume and inferno. I also like using fire-ball at point-blank range too, so its not like I was hanging back and hover-blasting. If you wish to be a hover-blaster, you don't take /fire.
As for controllers being cowards and always hanging back, you just don't know what you are talking about. I've seen just as many controllers get in close as I have seen them hang back. But hey, why try to make a point with some actual facts and a well-considered statements when broad-brush hyperbole will do?

wow missing the point of it just being a gag all of of face plant some more than others im just trying to rib the ppl that claim thier perfect and never die... "don't take life to serously you'll never get out alive"
If I took life seriously all the time, I wouldn't have been alive this long, nor would I be playing this game. Also, in the game of life, nobody gets out alive, no matter their world-view.
You see, the problem with making a post on an internet forum that is made to be taken in jest is that intent is often lost unless its stated at some point in plain language (made even more problematic when you use a bunch of internet abbreviations), or even something as simple as a smiley at the end. Its one of the problems associated with communication in a text-only environment. Many people say stupid things online all the time, and are dead-serious when they say it, and I would assume that you've been around the internet long enough to realize that.
You should take that into consideration the next time you decide to make a "gag" post of that nature.
I tend to use the combo of: Powerboost, Force of nature, Luck, Aim+ Buildup, Nuke, Blues, Conserve power, Totalfocus on the most threatening boss, mop up the rest. It's a face plant free method. [powerboost will help your resistance buff, tohit buff, and stun duration] At level 32 I think most Nukes are a little weak until you get it slotted so use with caution. Just remember that you will get aggro at the start of your animation and then again after the power damages your foes. You have two builds to work from so play around to which one you are most comfortable with.

Nuke whenever it's up and there are at least 10 bad guys! I remeber waaaaaaaaaaaaay back when we would go to Crey's Folly and my tank friend would round up all the freakshow around the Warehouses near the Rikti Crash Site entrance. He taunt them into the shipping container and i'd jump in.... and BOOOOOOOM!!!! there would be like 100 dead Freakshow Minions and LTs and a whole whole lotta pissed off Freaktanks hehehe SQUEEEEEEEE!!!! I miss those days... DAMN YOU TARGET CAP!!! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!!!!
Well, the Blaster's nuke damage is much more impressive, I'll tell you that. It doesn't *hurt* to announce your nuke, but it's not necessary. People won't get mad at you for destroying a mob. Just be careful to back out when you're done. It's important to know your teammates too, you'll need to stay near the enemies if you've got a Kin using Transference.
Nukes also make excellent panic buttons, mostly when you're trying to deal with a nasty ambush or double aggro or something...
Yeah, I really wish they would increase the target cap.

To nuke or not to nuke?
[/ QUOTE ]
The only answer is to put it on auto and throw away the key.
The Bacon Compels You.
I nuke whenever it's up. And I don't wait for the rest of the team. Pop a purple or two or none, joust the nuke, pop some blues, get back to mopping up. There is no down time or silly claims of loss of dps, especially if you have an emp with AB slotted with endmod or a kin or a cold hero side.
[ QUOTE ]
The downtime after a nuke makes you lose damage... unless it's the last spawn of the mission, I don't really see much point in a nuke at all.... I find nukes are not worth spending a power choice on.
[/ QUOTE ]
The "downtime" is easily overcome. If you have either /fire or /electric secondary, the answer is Consume / Power Sink, provided you have a blue insp to spare to use them. Other than that nukes should only be done if you have an abundant supply of blue insps so that your DPS isn't majorly affected by the end crash.
That being said, I believe nuke powers should never be avoided. When slotted properly their damage and their capabilities to clear mobs are second to none.
If you're a PvPer, I'd say not to take the nukes, but I don't think you're one of those hardcore people saying I ONLY PLAY PVP. So, w/e xP
i wish i was here for the days like that
I love my nuke .. combined with one blue inspiration and consume (or perhaps Rest, if they are all dead) - Makes it both fun and quite effective. And fun is what it's all about.
As for dying a lot, I don't even think I have a debt badge on my level 42 Fireblaster yet! And she's only *just* gotten the 100k Damage received badge (I think it's called Tough). So not everyone die a lot .. even if they do love to nuke!
On a sidenote :
I do remember a Target cap being added, but how many is it at ?
I've forgotten!

Fire Tanks were great at dumpster diving, especially before the Purple nerf.
We actually started to get a team together to do the Dumpster BOOM BOOM. Two Tanks to herd and as many blasters as we could find so there would be no having to wait for one Nuke to be up...... Herd 30-40 bad guys from one way BOOOOOOM 25-35 dead bad guys Tank stays holds aggro while the other tank brings in 30-40 Bad guys BOOOOOOM!!!! Mop up what was left... Rinse and repeat. SIGH I miss 6 slots for Recharge in Hasten......
You know we could still do this I bet...... Two Tanks. Six Blasters and just herd Taunt cap and rinse repeat. hmmmm anyone on Freedom or Infinity wanna give it a try?
