PvP Corruptors

What are the current FotMs for PvP corruptors nowadays? I've been thinking about a few build ideas and can't seem to decide on any powersets. My only ideas so far are Energy or Rad primary, Cold or Rad secondary.

elec/therm is the FotM now, since it's the best end drainer in the game.

Assault Rifle / Traps corrs are OP at the moment, AR/Sonic corrs are doing well

Rad, Cold, Pain and thermal all suck in comparison

(lol)

orly?

I just finishd fooling around with a Sonic/Cold build that looks fairly useful. With all the Defense and Resistance DeBuffs it should my damage effectively tasty, not to mention most of my resistances are capped. Thermal doesn't seem very much like a PvP set to me, not to mention Electric Blasts damage output isnt that great. I realize -END is the only true Mez left in PvP due to the lack of Endurance, duh, but I'd rather be able to dish out some real damage.

Also, /Traps? /Sonic? I sense some trollin'.

/therm, /rad, /pain, /cold are probably the most common.

If you're choosing between /cold or /rad I'd rather go /rad because of the changes to slow (and I think rad offers a lot more utlity - heal, +dmg, +rch, +recov, -dmg, -tohit/def and the toggles can really help teams out travel your suppressed target)

More seriously, go with

Elec or sonic/therm
Fire, sonic or rad / pain
Sonic and dark / colds still do alright
I've seen some decent dueling rad and sonic/darks

Rad is better at the lower levels. If you are going to be PvPing in Sirens or lower level arena, go with Rad because that set gets all it's best stuff by 30. Cold and Thermal are better at the higher levels with some of their best powers coming at 35+.

Yeah /colds in RV obviously outperform /colds in SC. The OP mentioned leaning towards /rad or /cold and I just think /rad performs better with less work (ie. it's harder to do as well with a cold/it takes more skill) no matter level.

Honestly, I'd play a set that takes more skill than a set thats easier to use. If skill will make it better than I'm all for it. I'll post my build for a Sonic/Cold I'm working on.

Drop the Fighting pool. Tough isn't worth it and Boxing isn't good enough for a Corr to warrant getting into melee if you don't have to. You have no self heal with those sets and that is a very important thing to keep in mind. I would either take Medicine instead of Fighting, or take Leviathan patron for Hibernoob. If you take Levianthan, grab Speed or Leadership instead of Fighting.

i made an elec/therm before they were the foTM, and lemme tell ya, that toon is alot of fun to play. it was fun when i 1st made him and no its LoL that i see a million of them runnin around. i also rolled a elec/cold and that was very promising too. my vote goes for elec or sonic/therm or cold

As a hero, I usually try to keep a lot of +end insp on me because of all the elec/therm corruptors out there. They are very annoying to fight, and I typically run when I get heat exhaustion on me as well.

Insp... only n00bs use insp. I wait for geas to recharge like a real man.

I run to the base and then call the /thermal a nub.

I've had my elec/therm since I9, what I13 did to them almost makes meh wanna kill something, then again, I13 basically neutered everything

If you want a range toon to blast with in PvP, consider making a Dom instead of a Corruptor. Right now, from what you can see in practice, Doms > Corruptors, yes, even Doms > Elec/thermal, especially mind/fire or fire/fire Doms.

The damage buff now, which does not need Domination, is so good, and the damage is dealt so fast, it makes for a lot better blasters than perhaps all blasters and corrs.

If you are set in stone with making a Corr for pvp, DPS is still king. I would go with a fire/ primary for the very fast damage output.

My suggestions are geared more for arena pvp than zones.

Repeat Offenders forever !

Make all IO's available in Paragon Market! NCSoft, the chinese are making BIG money selling influence and other stuff in the game. Best way to stop them = make the paragon market a place to buy all IO's and perhaps other things as well.

Sonic is better imo than fire from personal experience.

Fire has hard hitters but sonic comes with placate, -res and a heavy hitter with Shout. Even though shout hurts your dps if you are rapid cycling it's still smart to have if somebody is in scourge range and you need a huge crit that shriek or the other one won't cover.

That's my .02

My rad/pain has done pretty well and it's viable in Siren's. It gets really good paired with other pain doms.

elec/therm was fotm as soon as they announced the proliferation of elec.

I have a Sonic/Pain with 45% damage bonus. It hits really hard and is pretty hard to take down. 25hp a second regen with a healing aura and Phase/Hibernate make it really hard to kill

45% with DR on or off?

Not quite sure what DR does to it to be honest

Its 44.5% with Assault/Sets/WoP normally

nice.

Dont forget also that WoP adds +tohit too

The extra damage resistance helps even though DR hits it pretty hard
