Have spawning rules changed?
It's intentional, they've probably done it as an anti-farming measure, and to make missions more interesting. If you can take on one boss at the end, why not more along the way?
Yes. Bosses will now spawn in any difficulty higher than Heroic/Villainous.
There has been some discusion on the change. The fact is we don't know why the change happened, and I don't think it's mentioned in the patch notes.
The leading speculation is a) it's an anti-farming thing, or b) this is actually how boss spawns were supposed to work in the first place, and it's actually been broken all this time.
But we don't really know for sure, until a developer chimes in. I don't think one's commented on this yet, but I could be mistaken.

I noticed this, myself. Duoing with a friend on Heroic, we were getting bosses mixed in with some of the normal spawns where we'd normally only be getting them at the end of the mission.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
As I said in the prior discussion of this, I love the change. Not for anti-farming purposes, but because I -like- fighting bosses, and seeing them spawn when solo more than just the "scripted" bosses is awesome. If it is an anti-farming measure, it's the kind I can wholeheartedly approve of. One that doesn't screw over the honest players as well as the farmers.

Thought something was up with my "Find Olivia Darque and Escape" mission.
At least I can grind out Visionary solo now.
Edit: Although Detention Field is getting kinda annoying now.

Ditto. I like this change. I have the Demon farm that I use for when I run low on high end arcane salvage. Even solo I am seeing Bosses. Nice change.

This one seems incredibly unlikely given the original stance on bosses not being intended to be soloable (lol). However, anything seems possible.

Hey, remember, AVs used to spawn in missions while solo before difficulty settings. Now that only happens at the max diff.

I was responding to the possibility that bosses were supposed to work this way all along. AV spawning behavior has been explicitly changed several times, so we know for a fact that how it works now isn't how it was all along.

Actually, what we know is that how AV spawning behavior works now isn't how it was originally supposed to work. We don't know that how bosses spawn now isn't how it was originally supposed to work, though. The original AV spawning rules I would think hints that it's not impossible that it -is- how it was supposed to work all along.

Maybe you should re-read my OP. No one else seems to have a problem understanding with how I presented the issue.
Since I'm already here and in case you can't be troubled to do that, I'll try to state it with simpler terms. I have a couple of missions that I farm. Prior to i15, they never had bosses with how I set them up (diff 4, spawned for 4). Now there are lots of bosses. If you're still confused, I give up, that's as plain as I can put it.
So it's a specific mission behavior not a general mission behavior, okay. That was my error.
Oddly enough, and friend and I were running the Midnighter's arc last night, on lvl 13-14 on Heroic, and in both the 'Rescue the Rikti' missions, we would see bosses without a single LT or minion with them.
Lost and Rikti, have always been groups that spawned bosses when set for 2.
I remember running the cape mission once as a duo. The entire first floor was single spanwed bosses. Lucrative for sure.

Not solo, you haven't. Not unless they were in "scripted" spawns. Before now, that's the only time bosses would spawn solo.

It reminds me of the period of time where LTs were refusing to spawn properly in missions. so many Bosses in their place.
I found it very odd that the only bosses I got (solo) on difficulty 5 were the objective ones. >.>

I remember the no Lt's bug... But not bosses spawning in their place. Just missions full of nothing but minions and the occasional scripted boss/Lt.

No, I provided 2 instances that described the behavior to see if it is happening on a larger scale. From the responses in this thread, it appears it is indeed on a larger scale.
I've noticed this as well. Great change, I love seeing the bosses as it gives you someone to pound while the AOE's do their work.
I have a few missions that I repeat periodically (yes, aka farming). I don't do a lot of farming and recently, for the first time since i15 was released, I ran both a vill farm and hero farm. Both exhibited the same behavior - bosses on the map where there had been none before.
The details - both are run on setting 4, a level 50 mission, set for a 4 member team. Before anybody asks, I ran these exactly the same as I did pre-i15: difficulty 4, set for 4. And no, these are not AE missions.
I even set it for 3 once and still, bosses were appearing. I haven't tried adjusting the difficulty yet.
The bosses weren't appearing in every spawn point, but, set for 4, in about half of them (my best guess, I didn't actually count). When set for 3, about 1/3 of the spawns contained a boss.
So, are other people experiencing the same? Any idea if this is intentional?
If this has been discussed elsewhere, I did not see it.
