Where did my COH game go? It no longer exists!

Get ready for a VENT!
Although AE is cool and I love the idea of creating your own missions and enemy, I am sick to death of getting on and getting nothing but broadcasts of EVERYONE and their mother trying to farm. Where is the COH I fell in love with and took my toons to 50 by going to every zone and hitting every contact! Just this morning I tried to start a sewer team and no one wants to do anything other then stupid AE farms! My old server Triumph is dead, and my new server Freedom is nothing but a Farmers Market! WTF!!!!!!

Now mind you, I admit I have been guilty of getting on those teams sometimes, but only so I can play! I dont have any solo friendly toons atm.

It seems like it is just a bunch of teens, seeing how many toons they can get to 50 before going back to school!!!!

Whats a girl to do? Does anyone know of a server I can go to that actually plays the old way? or has it all gone to hell?

And, is the Villan side the same? Should I go there?

But seriously, the main game is still there...it's just mixed in with a billion broadcasts about Old MacDonalds. From what little I've seen Freedom is the farmers paradise, so shift servers and have a look around.

I completely avoid the AE and I don't even pay attention to broadcast at this point. I have just gone through and removed Broadcast from my chat filters. If people truly need something they will whisper me or go to /hc which i'm always watching.

Use the search tool and send people whispers who seem to have similar flags or miss interests that you do.

All servers have AE broadcast spam, I don't know of any server where you will find that doesn't. So far on Triumph, I still see a lot of ppl running mission content and asking for real mission teams in local. I see this more on blueside than redside though. Redside typically just seems to have less people than blueside in general so that may be a factor in your results.

Infinity isn't bad. Still AE spam messaging in Cap and Atlas, but other stuff going as well. Just ran a PuG LGTF the other night no problem. Ran through a few patron arcs with another PuG also.

You mention Triumph, and last week I started a new Warshade there. It's now Lv26 and all I've done with it is quite a bit of being sidekicked by high-level SG members, and a lot of soloing of my own in-game Warshade story-arc. No AE what-so-ever, well, other than running in to check up on my one and only story-arc...

I think the key to finding people to play with... is being a part of a good Supergroup. Perhaps the game is changing and you know... the Sewer PuGs are dead, long live AE PuGs...

I believe that a Kheldian Gold Standard should be based on SO's, and for anything above that... there's Platinum!

Here's the difference:

In the sewers you are going to find people all on the same page with starting powers, not a mix of people all trying to beat custom critters with extreme defenses or something. In addition, it requires a little bit of knowledge of the game beyond how to get to the AE building. We had to teleport up a 15th level blaster to our AE mission because he didn't know how to GET to the AE entrance. He had never had to. He'd been TPed up, then flew/fell down to level, and then TP'd back.

I love the AE, I do. I love having my arcs up there (try them they're fun), but I also know that there's a lot more to the game and I won't touch the AE with a toon until I've done my sewer run, then gone to KR and gotten my Raptor pack from a bank mission.

I do, with no luck, most times other zones are vurtually empty, everyone is in AP.

Well, given that most people are in instances, what are you expecting to see in those zones? Have you tried running a search in them to see who's there? Have you tried asking any of those people you finsd to team with you?

I'm never sure exactly what people who come to complain about how AE has "ruined" the game actually expect to see in the open in a game that is more than 75% instanced missions. It is pretty rare that you would see a crowd of player characters just standing around or even doing anything "outside" except travel to missions, and then it would be pure luck to see them at that exact moment in time because they pass through areas not stopping.

Oh, and BTW - Triumph isn't "dead".

Here's the thing. I see the sewers as a fun alternative to running to a mission door where it takes all of 3 minutes to complete said mission compared to the 10 to get the team there. However I find the sewers much more fun than going up and doing some random 'farm' AE mission.

The different goal for me is in the fun factor of the sewers vs missions vs AE.

My goal is to have fun. Skipping content? I'm always going to skip content unless I turn off XP. It's what I have ~fun~ doing that matters most to me.

Ok, rephrase, It is the same in only trying to get a few fast lvls without doing missions. But Yes it is different then going straight into an AE Farm, I see alot of lvl 1's tring to get a lvl54 Boss farm going and TODAY, it bothers me!!!!

Dont get me wrong, I like doing AE (missions) some of the concepts ppl have come up with are funny and I have a great time doing them, but here lately, its gotten worse, and I guess I havent run into the right ppl at the right time. I actually lowered myself to arguing with all the farmers on this morning (and got cussed out for speaking up) lol Maybe Im just having a bad day, idk, but I do know that I log alot because of not being able to get on a worth while team and/or being able to accomplish a thing. And before AE, I was able to get on a team and Rock and Roll! And I loved it! I miss it is all!

Last weekend, on the 'dead' Triumph I manged to run 8 Task Forces and Trials, and there was a successful Hami raid whilst I was running one of those.

I think the OP, is vastly overstating his non-existant case.

Get out of AP, or even better dont enter it unless you have a mission that takes you there.

Im not accusing the OP of this, but one thing that does happen on all servers, is that player notes ratings has an effect. The smaller the population, that dufus act that was 1 starred by a player/team/group the more your chances of getting onto teams in the future gets hurt.

Quite possibly. I'm no teen, but I've used the MA to get a few new characters up to level 22 and SOs. After more than five years and dozens of characters I'm kind of tired of the pre-SO levels.

Leveling is the point of almost all MMOs, and like natural forces, people in general follow the path of least resistance. I'm of the opinion that the MA will get "modified" (nerfed) eventually to make it less effective for leveling up toons (e.g., xp earned will get cut in half). Maybe many people expect this too and are grinding xp while the grinding is good.

When the MA xp nerf happens, people will go back to farming in Peregrine Island. By then, however, there will be quite a storehouse of player-created material.

Virtue seems to have room for both the MA and regular teaming.

As far as the player notes and ratings, I really dont think that is my problem, Im not the best player in the world. By far actually, but I do know how to play my toons, I dont talk smack, I follow what the leader wants for the team to do, and I help my fellow player anytime I can, so I would say I was a pretty good team player overall, I cant imagine having negetive ratings or notes. But I guess it is possible.

I will take back the "dead" comment about triumph, but for me personally, i dont have any luck when it somes to finding or starting teams when I try on triumph. Which is a shame, some of my favorite toons are on that server.

And, I have played with you Catwhoorg in the past, not enough for you to remember probably, but i did a couple RWZ raids with you. I recognize your name and know that you have been here from the beginning.

All this post was, was a vent of what I personally have been experiencing on the game.
