Connectin...#1...Updater won't connect

Morning Forum Folks:

Updateder won't connect this morning. Tried on 2 seperate computers...getting nothing but connect attempts.

I can get the Test Updater to work, but not live.

Gonna go reset the modem.

Any thoughts?

Same here. Though it's probably just because the servers are down.

I tried the updater bypass, and was unable to connect when I got to the logon screen.

I suspect this is the i15 live publish, and that everything is offline for the time being.

Normally new issue downloads will come after one logs off. I was on last night and nothing came when I logged off so either this isn't for I15 or they've changed their processes. I'm about 50/50 on my expectiations between those two right now. In any case, every server is down and there was nothing scheduled for this morning outside normal maintenance so there's definitely something unusual going on.

--If we can have huge sig images, why can we have only five lines of text?

I got the predownload a little over a week ago when I logged off.

Possible that this is the I15 Live Publish. Guess we'll know Soon™.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Yup thats exactly what it means. Announcement just went up that i15 is live... yet its down lol and says its testing. So eseentially they turned live server into test server, at least temporarily - hopefully this is only for an hour or so.

They've done this previously. They turn the live servers on but only let staff in to make sure there aren't any major issues live before they let the masses in. 4:30 can't come soon enough.

Well, it's now 18:51 EDT and I'm still getting "Connecting... #14", yet the link here:

says all servers are up (except for Training, which is labeled "Unknown".

I can't seem to connect to the Support Center either. "The server at help.ncsoft.com is taking too long to respond."

I was getting this problem before I15 went live. Started last Thursday wtih my rig at my home, got it to work for a little bit on Friday before I was DC'd. My rig at my BF's is ok, tho it does take longer for updates. Since then I haven't been able to connect at home. I have tried nearly everything short of reinstalling the game. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate the help.

I'm having the same problem. Just posted a desperate cry for help. CoH Updater says it's "Checking Updater" but it's not. Never had this problem with an update before. The last thing I want to do is reinstall the game or start moving/renaming files. I can be patient, but only if I know it will eventually work. Otherwise I'm just wasting my time. Any suggestions?

I had this issue before the server crash (?) and am having it again now. I had to quit and restart the updater a few times, but it eventually let me in before the crash. No such luck right now...

I get this problem intermittently. I don't know if this is a good solution for you but what I do is run the updater very early in the morning. I think it has something to do with the updater server getting overwhelmed with new releases or there is a choke point somewhere in network from your ISP to the server. I run the Updater very early in the morning and eventually it starts syncing and downloading. Not an ideal solution but it worked for me. I think my ISP network is choked somewhere to the NCSoft network.

The problem is it won't even connect to get the updates. I can surf the internet no problem, just can't connect to CoH. I did let it sit for a while and at one point it was on #38 but still no connection.

This started last Thursday and I had gotten my UVerse the week prior, with no problems connecting. I went to my BF's on Tuesday night (6/23) came home on Thursday night and just couldn't connect. Friday I was able to get it to connect, was on for about 10 minutes got DC'd then couldn't connect again.

Guess I'll have to re-install the game, thank god I picked up the Architect version.

Have you filed a support ticket at the PlayNC website so that the Technical Support staff can try to assist you in resolving this?

If you don't file a support ticket, they don't know there is a problem and can't help you.

I am having the same problem. Is there any fix that can be downloaded outside of the updater?
