Anime/Manga expansion pack?

I was thinking that, it would be a good idea for an anime/manga themed expansion pack for this game. Also if this idea would be a boster pack that people would buy, part of a future issue or something else.

About the time City of Hero launched in Korea, we had some "oriental" pieces added (the various MA robes, etc.) as well as hairstyles and such, as I recall.

While it'd probably be a booster, versus an expansion, what sort of things are you looking at for it?

(And I'd guess they'd mostly go in Jay's Costume Request Thread.)

Im just useing shonen jump as an example to explain this idea in a bit more detail and I know the game devlopers cannot take those ideas, because there would be copyright issues.

He was talking about when City of Hero was first released. That's when they added in more anime-styled costume options. Several anime-like faces, the various robes, and even touted a vet reward costume piece as "Anime Armor" (even though it's called Tech Sleek in-game).

After City of Hero was released it bombed. Korean gamers found CoH to be far too easy and not fitting to their usual "ZOMG! The game doesn't [censored] me for dying once! IT's too easy!!" mindset.

Also the Superhero genre isn't as popular there as it is here, which is also what helped lead to its failure.

But when City of Hero came out they did add in anime-inspired things, and since it's downfall we've inherited their good and bad parts. The Korean NPC have since been added to the game, but so has their gold farmers.

My knee-jerk reaction is: Oh, hells no!

With a bit of thought though, I don't think it would be horrible to add as a Booster. That way Paragon Studios can net some cash from the Japan-ophiles and I won't have to look at as many ridiculous anime-inspired characters as if it were free.

Basically, I am against adding in any random niche items to the game, just because another game/movie/comic/manga or whatever has them. This is, after all, a game based off American comic books.

In regards to the OP... Could we get some more specific ideas as to what would constitute the rest of the expansion beyond costuming? I mean, I'm totally behind more costume stuff, but more things go into an expansion then that!

Honestly, I'd love to see more/better 'schoolgirl' and uniform options then what we have now (Jay, sweetie. The old things don't do your newer 'civvie' stuff justice through existance!), and maybe some more asymmetrical and different armoring options.

And boots. Definately need more boots.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

So we get an addon where we can set different sleeve and pant leg options per appendage and slap on multiple belts where ever we want them and wrap random parts in bandages.

Also, as an aside, if the parts that are added aren't sooo niche that they could basically only be used for anime styled costumes, I am all for it. More options isn't really bad, most times. I was a bit too knee-jerk even in my more thought out response.

Asked about this, and getting some of the older stuff updated - apparently there's heavy demand for new stuff, he wouldn't mind going back (as I recall) to update the older stuff, there's just no time right now (or at least when i asked.)

Wouldn't mind seeing actual... oh, texture, depth, etc. put in to the older stuff.

I've seen Naruto characters, actually, only Hinata. But how the hell has anyone made any Tri-Gun or Inuyasha characters?

I /sign this because I am not just a reborn fan of Western media, but I still hold love for Japanese junk as well. (Loaned partly because I /am/ half-Japanese).

The links work fine withe me also, and for this topic. I would be also a good idea for there to be a type of ninja abilitiy/abilities that a heroes and villians can use (excludeing the ninja mastermind abilities).
