I used to love my necro/ta and my thugs/ta for zone pvp pre i13. /ta had the ability to make a big open area effectively a small boxed in "office map". Mobility tends to hard to deal with on a MM and /ta rendered mobility moot.
Sadly people just zip away at full speed with glue arrow on them now unless my pets keep them suppressed, which works if they were near me and my pets to begin with, but if I had to stray to catch them with entangle/glue by the time my pets show up they have zoomed away. I miss -maxrunspeed.
That's like almost the opposite of my list.
anyways phase on TA MMs.n Some Melee toons like the glue on their face.

L O L @ VEATS and Kheldians being better than Corr's, Controllers, Blasters, Doms, Defenders and Scrappers.
.. If u are skilled and have expirience in mmos' pvp Blasters or Doms will make u a killing machine.
If not.. Brutes,Tankers,Scrappers or Stalkers are better.
[And i'm not saying all Brutes,Tankers,Scrappers and stalkers are skill-less, but only they are char u can play also withouth big skill.
Blasters or Doms and no skills mean die any time and get 2 kills /day.. pheraps).
and a tank/brute/scrapper/stalker and skill-less = die even faster and with zero chance of a kill per/day unless it is against another skill-less person.

Give them a Brute and a Blaster (or a tanker and a Dom)... and let me know who will win.
Than take 2 skilled guys (same skill) and do the same thing... and again let me know who ll win.
if the blaster doesn't just stand there and button mash toe to toe against the brute then i will still put my money on the blaster.

While I see your point, I must also point out that there are just sooooooo many different variables to consider with that scenario. It's really just not as simple as "Blaster vs. Brute".
You have to consider the primaries and secondaries of both players, IO slotting and Accolades must also be taken into account, each perspective build and what powers were taken are important, the location of the fight (tigher encounters such as the monkey cage or train station can cause several different outcomes), inspiration trays are important factors, as is whether or not it's a "1-kill-1win" match (like most zone duels) or a standard "10-minute duel", one build being the "kryptonite" of another build (such as Psi vs. Energy Aura Brutes) is another very important factor.
And thats just to name a few. Once all those things are considered, then we can start to see who really is "better" between the two AT's in a standard duel.
In general, Blaster > brute, assuming it is a duel with high ceilings or none.
Gave up on PvP a long time ago. Interesting to see Defenders fall so far down the list when back in the days in Arena they were top really only bested by controllers depending on build.

Yea npcs are a hassle but a good MM who is aware of his surroundings should always be on the look out for when to pull his henchmen back. Generally speaking, minion level mobs are little to no threat, an MM should be more than able to handle an opponent in addition to 1 or 2 minions at the same time. 1 Lt is also ok, only bosses and big mobs pose a problem. But an MM who just recklessly lets his pets lose on auto attack and attracts a ton of aggro speaks more about the player than about the class itself.

I dont know, at level 50 in RV.......and IOd out........the majority of 1 v 1 blasters vs my EM/Inv Brute, I dont have a problem killing (Vet Nem staff and dark wand make the difference) ........... two blasters, one burning each side of my boodie............ that hurts. (Then again, I cycle, unstoppable, phase shift, and demonic. Without those.......yeah Id be dead.
And yeah...........I pop lucks too :P Is it skill to plan ahead when you know the numbers are against you (read % unresistable attacks---something I have been against but live with)? well if they die and I live....... sure heheh Is it fair? meh...... I play a villain :P
As far as the list........ I would put the ranged toons up top like the others.

Maybe he was better prepare or played better then the blasters he face. Melee not so lol this days, giving them -range from taunt and web nade and they can compete againts most range toons.

I pretty much win on my tank or force a draw vs. blasters (w/ dr on) even if my tank is speced for taunting... the numbers give the tank the advantage if they are just straight attacking each other. Skill plays a role here but you can only get to a point where skill no longer matters too much. With DR off, I have to force a draw by stalling and pretending i was fighting.
The above statement is not represented in my list of good to not so good PvP ATs because that list was based primarily on the important arena PvP games.
