Claws 4 Brutes
Sorry got off topic......so claws for brutes...is guud. With the announcment that Going Rogue is NOT issue 16, and that 16 is going to be atleast in part about power customization....you think we'll get massive proliferation also?
Love to see claw on brutes, but sadly I think the Devs dug in and decide that us Smasher would never see em. I think they did the same thing with with scrappers and SS. Kind of a shame. Would love to play a Claw Brute. : (

I agree but we already have SS Sm BA and WM that fill those roles. Granted I would also like Broad sword but claws would be my first choice followed by Broadsword then Katana and Spines if we have them all.
Personnally I want the Electric Hammer they mentioned oh so long ago in the poll. But a Weapon customised WarMace will have to do for now.

The Scrapper is a fierce melee combatant. In hand to hand, no other hero can compare. But the Scrapper is not as resilient as the Tanker, and might find himself in a little trouble if he heedlessly wades into combat. The Scrapper's aptitude for melee is countered by a total lack of distance attacks. Scrappers possess Critical Strike capability. Their melee attacks have a chance to sometimes do double damage.
Brutes live to fight, and as a Brute, you will revel in hand-to-hand combat. With strong offensive power sets designed to inflict pain and impressive defenses to take it, you're the best there is in a straight melee fight. Protracted battles only make you mad, and the madder you get, the more damaging your attacks become. You do lack ranged attacks, which could leave you vulnerable to hit-and-run tactics without allies to cover you.
Ok, so Brute is an unfortunate choice for naming the AT, as it does tend to conjur certain beastly images. However, as you can see in the descriptions above, taken directly from the little informational book that came with the games....there isn't a big difference between Brute and Scrapper. There is absolutely NO mention of Brutes being stupid beastly creatures that can only SMASH stuff.
Everytime I see someone post something along the lines of a set not being right for brutes because it is gracefull or doesn't have enough SMASh....I just wanna vomit. Brutes should without a doubt get MA, Kat, BS, and Claws. Besides, they already have Fire melee, Dark Melee, and Dual Blades....none of which are SMASH!
Noone will contradict that Claws on brute would be at least a positive change, if not a great addition.
But more importantly : WE WANT MORE PROLIFERATION !!
That was the best thing happening in i12 for me, it got me so excited for at least a month, and I've been eagerly waiting for more since then.
Unfortunately each issue after has been quite a disappointment for this very reason (even if I like the AE much).

The forum goer's are the one who dubbed Brutes with "Smash" not the dev's, and personally I've never liked the phrase. I think it would have been better to consider us as "Raging" not smashing, since the more we attack or are attacked the more damage we deal, and in essence the more "raged" we become, and it doesn't corner us to the whole "smash" theme...
I think "Raged" is equally lame.
I'm going to go with Perturbed.

Brutes are level headed until they are attacked or start attacking, then Fury fuels, and increases their ire.

Ok....if we don't get claws for brutes in issue 16, I'm gonna take a break till GR. I'm really hoping we get that massive proliferation to go along with power customization. Otherwise I'll probably be back after football season....

If Brutes can have Dual Blades, they can have Claws. Hell, Claws are way more Brutish than Dual Blades are.

I've always thought it starnge that Katana gets this but Broadsword doesn't have any ridiculously oversized swords. I'd love to see Broadsword get a few "Cloud" like swords. What would be really cool is if we dragged them behind us as we ran, instead of holding it upright all the time.
