This is what I'm trying to say. I know that it sucks when you get a power changed, but if you are only playing a powerset for ONE particular power and any change to it makes you leave the set or even the game entirely, then maybe that powerset isn't for you.

Still, the PSW is a little extreme on its whacking. The lower powers took a recharge hit, but damage goes way up. This has the effect of lowering the recharging of Domination because of the slower attack speed. Psi was brutal, and this does pull it down, which to those that squeezed it for all it had, it will hurt them alot. Enough to leave the game.... thats a little over the top, but a respec is certainly in order.

But, back on topic, my question is who does it hurt if the power in PvE is over/under powered. Not every character can DPS like a fire/fire blaster. SO WHAT if PSW is overpowered? If it's fun to play, LEAVE IT ALONE.
Now, it is fine to have balance in PvP and nerfs and buffs should be expected there. After all, you should want to encourage wanting to play multiple character types in PvP. What fun would it be if stalkers were the only viable characters.
So I guess the change is for PvE which, when looking at the numbers, looks like a huge nerf. Sorry Dolly that they hit you so hard with the nerf bat. Hopefully the changes will be adjusted before live. And if you really are gone, the best of luck. We never got to play together but it was always nice to read your posts on the Boards.

Anyone who chose the same AT but a different powerset, who then goes on to see the people with the broken power gaining money and xp a lot faster, with no real tradeoff/disadvantage.

Every MMO attemps to keep its powers somewhat balanced and I don't think the "BUT IT'S FUN!" argument has ever worked at any point, to keep an outlier power from being brought into line with other more standard powers.

Simply because it's unfair to those who aren't using that powerset. I'm not one who gets upset by the fact that it's unfair (I've yet to ever complain that my Claws Scrapper's underpowered, even when statistically, it was), but I can be rational enough to recognize it's unfair.
The kid who sits next to you in school is named Tim. For some reason, he's been in every one of your classes your entire life. Also, for some bizarre reason, every teacher really likes Tim just because his name is Tim. You work hard in school and pull a 3.5 GPA. Tim does nothing but show up to class and gets a 4.0 GPA. Tim gets more invites to honor societies, special awards, and gets more money in scholarships than you do.
Now, did Tim actually affect your GPA? Nope.
Was it unfair that Tim got treated differently? Yup.
It doesn't take amazing skill to be good with PSW. You get invited to more things, you get more rewards for your time, and you kill much, much faster than other Dominators. Not because you're skilled, but simply because you had the right powerset name.
Now, if it only took 2 hours to have a new kid, name him Tim, get him through high school, and get the opportunity for all those awards, would parents start doing it? Of course. So, at that point, should the administration address the situation? It's not actually affecting the performance of any other students, but is it something that should be fixed?
Currently, on Test, is a fix that only gives Tim a slight curve on all his grades instead of a massive advantage. What would you think if parents balked at such an idea? If they felt their child deserved to be given a free ride that's unfair to all other students just because it had been that way in the past? What if they threatened to take their little Tims to another school district?
Personally, I'd laugh at their melodramatic attitude and not even bother to bid them farewell as they took their temper tantrum out the door. Your mileage may vary.

Sorry to hear that Doll, you're a great player and it has been fun teaming with you now and then. I can see why you're upset about it, seem like the only AT that you can trust from being nerfed any more are the Controllers, which sucks because that just means they are over due.
I hope you stay to see if they fix up what they have on test, hopefully that recharge and end drain goes away.

I made 10 billion inf this last year on the market. I have complete faith that I could double that if they put a price cap on items on the market. I may be able to triple it.

Yes, by itself PSW is overpowered, but I don't think the /psi set as a whole was. Maybe PSW deserved to get toned down a little bit, but not this much. Sure, the ST damage of /psi went up, but the AoE damage took a big hit. Psy Scream is the only other AoE attack in the set, but the cone is small and the animation time is sorta long.

Triple earns on a cap... hmmmmm unlikely... no more over pricing. for example lets say Hetacomb which is in the market going for 100mil a new cap lets say 40-50mil cap.... you be making less money in that funcition. salvage selling for 1.5mil a cap 500k .. few examples.. It's against the rules for me to describe your level of intelligence, so I'll just pass on that.
The reason I would make three times as much money is because of the instant (actual) black market that would crop up. I would be happy to leave bids out to buy up all your Hecatombs at 50 mil a piece. I would then advertise my wares to the BUYITNAO crowd (the ones who drive up prices into the 100s of millions already) for gradually increasing prices. The more of the market I controlled, the more profit I would make. Those same individuals would then give me an even vaster profit per item, thus doubling or tripling my take-home profit.
The only people who would lose out in this equation would actually be farmers and market suppliers (which, in some cases, would be those exact individuals you're trying to help).
You haven't seen market manipulation until you put a price cap in. Then, you'll really see what my giant bankroll can do.
