50 fire/fire tank...havnt played in 4 years help
A build that can tank for a tema with no problems...hell I WISH I could farm like the good ol days....*sigh..yeah....
I keep getting knocked around (with acrobatics)...I only have IOs...hell no clue how to slot him now.
Im lost on this toon anymore lol
/whine off
Get Mid's Hero Builder, make a build, and let us critique it. Or, look around in the Tanker guides section.
Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.

"I was just the one with the most unsolicited sombrero." - Traegus
If you have acrobatics and you're still being knocked around, there are only two enemies you could be fighting in any commonality, one of whom offers a big XP bonus and I would not be surprised to see as the centerpiece of a farm. In which case might I recommend you play the game?
You can tank for a team with just SOs. I know. I was there. So could you be clearer with what you want? What do you like? What don't you like? Are you willing to take powers that require other players to be better? Do you want a lot of attacks? Do you want to invest in IOs?
Give us something to work with.
Yeah, I'm a little confused about the KB complaint if he has Acro on. Sure, you'll be knocked around more before the big Acro change, but Acro's KB protection is good for almost all encounters in game.

Temp protection now offers slow resist (20%). It also makes a good spot to slot a KB io to augment Acro.
Burn has been changed way too much. It is useful if you can work around the drawbacks. Fire/Fire will have a difficult time making good use of it on a team unless you have a controller who can lock the mobs down.
Tough makes most encounters easier. Not a big fan of Weave due to cost vs benefit but it is essential for a defense based build.
For IO builds I tend to see two popular schools of thought.
The first is to build for positional defense. With Weave+CJ you can get good numbers of Melee defense to stack on the Resistance you get.
The seconds is to build for recharge. Set bonuses can get you some very nice recharge numbers. Stack that with the +20% recharge reduction resistance from Temp Protection as well as a +20% from one of the travel power IO unique and it makes you hard to stop. (Think there is a day job that will stack an additional 20% on top of all that. Cannot get to the wiki to check because I am at work )
I dont mind investing in IOs....when I get hte money. I want to be able to tank well...since thats what IM supposed to do. I dont really plan on solo'in. But I do want to be a good (since IM not a stoner Ic ant be great) damage sponge for my team
You can tank for your team..
However you probably have several issues.. 4 years ago there wasnt this thing called ED or Enhancement DIversification.. Basically what happens with that is that if you slot more than THREE of any Single SO or IO in the same power you get very diminishing returns..
For example you might have slotted One end redux and Five Resistance in Fire Shield.. Now your last two in Fire Shield give you almost NOTHING... you would be better of respecing into One end redux and Three Resistance.. investing the two slots elsewhere....
You probably six slotted hasten which made hasten perma.. Well there is no way you can perma hasten with six slots now and Three would be the way to go... Six slotted stamina etc etc...
You also most likely relied extremely heavily on Burn as your offense.. You opened with Burn.. You closed with Burn.. well Burn has been nerfed to oblivion.. Its recharge was increased and the fear effect makes many foes run out of your burn patch.. You can no longer rely on burn alone as your offense...
Look up Mids Hero Planner.. download it.. put your current build in it and paste it on tbe boards so people can see what you have...
BTW you dont necessarily need IO's to tank.. I have non IO toons and they do just fine..
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-
It's worth noting that Healing Flames got a big buff and is a very nice heal nowadays. You don't really have to be immune to damage as a Fire Tanker, you just need to keep it within Healing Flames' ability to handle, which is considerable, once slotted up.
If we are to die, let us die like men. -- Patrick Cleburne

The rule is that they must be loved. --Jayne Fynes-Clinton, Death of an Abandoned Dog
This is my basic build, I tanked ITF last night with no deaths. With 20+ of them beating on me I was taking some damage but with Healing flames down to 14s recharge and 26% melee defense it wasn't fast enough to drop me.
It uses fairly cheap Multi-Strikes, Reactive Armor, Red Fortunes and Titanium Coatings. I think the whole thing cost me less than 20 mil ( plus the cost of special ones like Numina's Regen and Zephr for knockback which I gambled for at the Merit vender)
I run Zephr, Steadfast and Karma knockback protection and with a -12 resistance I have yet to be knocked on my can.

Aye .. post your powers and your slotting at least, if you don't want to/can't install Mid's ..
Hate to say it, but you won't get much specific help if you can't give specifics first.
Good luck out there.

well without really knowing what you want, can't give you a specfic build, but here is my current build on my fire/fire tank. I've tanked MoSTF with it, along with all other tfs.

Okay. This is a really, really basic run through the build and powersets that you presented, and how I'd socket it up/change things with SOs. While I don't think this is the best way to do it, it should be nice and consistant. You can buy the SOs at the Vanguard base, which you can access through Atlas Park, Founder's Falls or Peregrine Island, okay?

There are probably going to be other people posting even better builds. But if you're not certain about IOs yet, this is a good place to start.
ouch bad build tottally..running toggles without any end redux at all?
5 slotting boxing on the highest damage 2ndary in tanks?..waste of slots.
I agree. Take Boxing, but don't use it. Remove it from the tray. Use 3 slots from that to 6 slot tough. Maximize endrdx and resistance both.

Boxing isn't a terrible attack. You do have better attacks in /Fire though. Adding three endred in Tough doesn't provide as much end drain reduction as one endred each in Tough and your Fire/Plasma Shields though.
I'd probably say drop the four extra slots from Boxing for one endred each in Tough/Fire Shield/Plasma Shield.
Blazing Aura also really needs the endredux. Since we only have one spare slot from Boxing left, I would say Acc/End/End/Dam/Dam.

I chose the slotting I did because I was aiming for simplicity - the simple maxim of 1 acc, 1 end redux, 3 damage. I've never found any of the toggles particularly costly in endurance - all the end redux I've wanted has been needed in attacks.
You want to 5 or 6 slot shields and AoE attacks for IO set bonuses, in Fire/Fire its all about bonuses to prop up lack of secondary defense like invincibility or Rise to the Challenge. We dont have any other mitigation other than a 45% resist slotted so you want to heavily stack IO's positional defense.
In my example you can see all my attacks and Def shields are 6 slotted and my Res shields are 5 slotted to get the IO Def bonus for Red Fortune, Multi Strike, Mako and Reactive sets. This gives me a 20% defense to most damage types and with Tough I have a 70% resist.
With your setup you will die in large TF fights plain and simple, I know because in some large fights I have come very close ( yay for 14 second Healing Flames ) and I have way more defense slots in my build that yours.
My build is an SO build. I used a very similar build, without tough, in hazard zones and not only survived, but thrived. Believe it or not, characters can survive in this game without IOs.
A lot has changed since the goold ol TV fire tank/burn days. Now its whether you can hit cap or whether you can live through a tough fight. Either way keep the classic Fire tank build; Tough, Weave, aid self. Although it's debatable, I use Aid self quite well. Forget Burn, they nerfed it beyond belief and now mobs run away. Don't bother with temp protection, even IO's wont cap your defense or res so its basically a need to want faster recharge on your heal and consume. Which can still be achieved with slotting Tough and weave with IO's.
With SO's Healing flames is still more pivotal than it used to be. I'll send you a good build.

"You're like Giraffe's, the way you look down on me, with your vegetarian scorn."
Maybe something like this will be more suitable for your 50

[ QUOTE ]
Define 'decent.'
And 'sucks.'
[/ QUOTE ]
For a 4 year gone player I believe the old definitions would be:
Decent: Fire tank who can herd up a map full of enemies, duck into a dumpster and drop a burn patch for a BBQ XP roast.
Sucks: A fire tank who cannot do this.
The game has changed greatly for Fire/fire tanks in the last 4 years.
Yeah I really dont expect to be able to farm the entire map again..but I would like to be able to jump from group to group. Cant see not having consume on a fire/fire tank...Still workit though
But thanks
Still cant decide what to do ....and I have very limited funds right now
Ok...
Can someone give me a decent build for a fire/fire tank...before I delete this toon lol
OMG he sucks now
HELP
