Farming for PVP recipes
no pvp recipes don't drop for farmers, you actually have to be a pvper and have the elusive 4000 rep badge, not the 400 one, u need the 4000 one.

lol.
Even though, farm the badge,
then farm the recipes.
yes it can be done in the arena. both toons must be within 3 lv's of each other to get the drops. the best match is a regular match with the time limit set to 30 mins. dont toggle the shields on for the toon that you are going to farm for max kills per round. and the monkey cage seems like the best map for it.
masterminds die quicker they don't get the pvp resistanve buff and have few hitpoints

Is this specific to the arena, or does it also apply to zone PvP?
It's irrelevant in zone PvP because everyone is set to the same level.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Kinda what I figured...
It's based on security level. No amount of sidekicking/exemplaring will let you get a drop off someone more than 3 security levels different from you. This is why you will occasionally see complaints about people getting hundreds of kills in zone PVP, but never any drops.
@Roderick
I said people were doing this in another thread and it was met with nothing but denials.
Glad to see someone have the courage to just tell the friggin truth for a change. Carry on.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.
So what's the story with the rep badge? Was that info accurate? It sounded fishy to me.
And for a while things were cold,
They were scared down in their holes
The forest that once was green
Was colored black by those killing machines

Yeah, no. There are no requirements for a PvP recipe to drop other than to have a PvP kill with someone within -3 levels to yourself.
lol if people talk about it its just gonna get nerfed that much easier.
PvP was nerfed from the get go, and then they pulled a Jack Emmert on it.....(because another round of ED was sorely needed to fix the flaw) the best the devs could do is make the zones and arena into a giant pocket D or they could heap even more ED on it.
tl;dr it was prenerfed....they cant make it any worse

He said that so a bunch of people don't join him and his buddies farming PvP recipes.

So, just to be clear, is that up to a +3 or -3 level difference? For example, a level 30 and a level 33? Or is it like a normal PvE minion that won't drop anything if they are more than -2?
Within 3 levels.
The way I've seen it at Arena terminals, a 50 Fire/Kin or Thugs/X MM just attacks an immobile 47 or 50 with no toggles on, rinse and repeat. Usually can get 50-60 kills in 10 minutes, sometimes more if they're dual boxing the target(s).
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.
Infinity Villains
Champion, Pinnacle, Virtue Heroes
To bring this back towards a market perspective, is it worth trying for lower level pvp recipes? I know you can get them as low as 10...the uniques would be great that low, but the regular set ones would be a waste. From a time spent::inf made perspective, is it worth trying for low ones, say 25-35?

Since the PvP recipes act just as Purples for the purposes of Exemping, except for being able to slot things earlier there is no added value to lower level versions.
This includes the Uniques and all Set Bonuses. This has been tested and confirmed. Slotting a PvP set lets you retain any bonuses all the way down to Level 1 even if a power isn't available.
So, Level 50's are worth much more in general than lower levels, even more than with regular Recipes.

Yeah, sorry so used to 10 minute matches.
(Seen some pretty high scores in those too in the day heh).

So if you have two accounts, can you do this in the arena? What levels, matches are best?
Thanks!
